I have been having my haircut with Michelle at Salon Md regularly. I am happy with her service each time. She is a great hair stylist! Nice place!!! read more

This is by far my favorite salon I've been to. Michelle, the hair dresser, was extremely friendly and comfortable to talk to while she cut my hair. I got a trim and layers and Michelle curled my hair for me to finish it for no extra charge. I honestly haven't gotten my hair curled in over 4 years and I just loved how she did it! She was just like an older friend/cute aunt. read more

This is the first salon I've went to her in US. She really did a great job on my hair and she's really friendly. I felt comfortable talking to her and she even fixed my eyebrows. Glad I found her. read more

Extremely unprofessional. Insults the customer. Misleading marketing. Buyer beware! Do not purchase this salon's Groupon, and be wary of the unprofessional attitude of the staff. The advertised price and service on their Groupon is misleading. The fine print mentions that "additional fees" would apply for different hair lengths and styles. When I called, they told me that the service I purchased would be up to FOUR TIMES the price of the Groupon I purchased. When I reviewed this salon on Facebook, one of the employees (Michelle) told me I was wrong and accused me of neglecting to read the fine print. Instead of trying to work with me and potentially rectify the situation and gain a new client, she further went on to tell me that I have a problem with reading comprehension. Again: Extremely unprofessional. Insults the customer. Misleading marketing. Buyer beware! read more

Salon MD - Unprofessional attitude, insulting potential customers. - Hair Stylists Near Me - Marietta, Georgia

Salon Md is great for a quick haircut, though I know they offer quite a bit more services for the ladies. The owner is very friendly and the place has a good atmosphere...definitely better than those generic 'Great Clips' type places that try to herd you in and out like cattle. I'd much rather go to an independent business owner, such as Salon Md, than hitting a big-box hair place. I think the rates are very fair for the service and I would go there again. read more

Looking for a new salon to call "Home", I purchased a Groupon with Dianna DeRosa. We exchanged a few text messages in order to set an appointment. She changed an originally scheduled appointment. When I texted her back, asking (several days in advance of the appointment) if I could reschedule, she told me "get your money back from groupon I won't be doing your hair" (sic) I sent texts, asking "Why is that?", and never received a reply, a return call or any other communication. Rather than risk my hair being butchered by someone with a bad attitude who didn't want to do my hair, I contacted Groupon, and was fortunately, with the benefit of the screen captures of her messages, able to get a full refund. Thanks for nothing - literally, Dianna, and good luck. read more

Walked out the way I walked in. Disappointed!. NO STAR DESERVED unfortunately I can't move on with this until 1 is picked. :-( I received a Groupon as a gift to get my hair done. I have lived in GA for a few years and have not found a place out here. I normally wait and get my hair done in California when I visit home. So with this groupon gift I stepped out and decided to try..big mistake. I went in thinking I would come out with a full head of highlights, cut and deep condition. I only came out with a cut. I wanted long layers and got one layer, I wanted the front to have shape around my face....was told unable to do that unless I cut more in the back (not sure what one has to do with each other). I even gave her up to an inch to cut and I got one layer....one.  I was asked what I was looking for and I said highlights and showed a few pix.....none of the pix where blonde...more honey color. I was told if I wanted that color I need to strip my hair and do it in steps......costing money money money. My hair is brown... Not black brown not black etc. I explained I didn't want to spend money (not to mention stripping is horrible for the hair) and what can she do. Finally we got on the same page after back and forth debts. We agreed to a golden color.....I thought it was beautiful (In my mind I was like it looks like the pix I showed). I was thrown off by the fact my hair was washed before the highlights, I was confused when my hair was done in section, very few foils and rinsed out within 2-5 minutes of the color on the strands of hair. This was the fastest highlight process I have ever seen....less than 30 minutes (all together from the moment I walked in maybe an hour)....no heat nothing. Oh wait, the 5-8 foils on the top of my head got heat for 3-5 minutes. I never have had my hair rinsed as much as I did. I told her I saw no difference. Now it would be an additional $40 to have it blown dry.....but she was so kind (being sarcastic) to blow dry one top piece to see the highlight.....nothing. I literally took a before and after shot......NO difference. I have people telling me "I thought you were going to get your hair done" I am like I did.....no one can see any highlights. I will give this to the stylist...yes I have about 10-15 light faded highlights....with my hair straighten......however I got a full highlight....this couldn't even pass for a partial. Than the other ladies (other employees) wanted to act like something was done, I know they didn't want to put their co-worker down. But I will not, nor will I ever refer them. Using Groupon is a great way to bring in new clients....but having the attitude that you are doing something free when someone did pay for it won't get you anywhere. My 1st sign to leave should have been how many times I had to hear "I am certified technician"....2nd clue...."you're basically getting a free service I charge $144 and this Groupon was $49". If I paid $144.....I would be going to court.  YOU choose to do the groupon deal....now suck it up butter cup and provide me the service I paid for regardless the total. AND why would you have that kind of discussion with a client. SMH!!!! Definitely no customer service, too much talking and not listening to what the client is asking for and a poor attitude. This Salon should NEVER do deals if they can not hold up to them....period! read more

Salon MD - Supposedly full highlights smh - Hair Stylists Near Me - Marietta, Georgia

I typically stop in here to get my eyebrows done because for the most part, it's quick and they do a semi good job. The most recent time I was getting my eyebrows done, the two ladies were sitting around talking politics which I think is extremely unprofessional, and basically ignored me (their customer.) When I went to pay, their card machine wasn't working all of a sudden and I never carry cash. The girl asked if she could write down my card information to charge me later (a big no) and in the process of trying to get it to work, she gave herself a $5 tip on my card which is almost 50% of what I paid. Never going back again. read more

I live close to the salon and thought I would take advantage of their new client special: $65 for cut, color, style or $95 for highlights, cut and style. I called and made an appointment with Michelle for 12:30 Saturday. While I was waiting in the lobby, her client before me was extremely unhappy with the fact she was charged an additional $15 for styling when it is advertised as being included in the $65 special. She was told it was because of the type of styling she received and that she would give it to her free this time. I didn't think anything of it at the time. Michelle seemed nice and knowledgeable and suggested I get highlights because my hair was much darker than I wanted it to be. She touched up my roots, highlighted and cut and styled my hair. FOUR hours later I was finished. Way too long for my liking! She told me my total was $180! What! How is that possible when the advertised price is $95. She said it was $65 for the cut, style and root touch up and an additional $120 for the highlights. At that point I had been there so long I would have paid anything to leave and like a fool didn't argue and gave her $180. Monday morning I was checking my voicemail and there was a message from Michelle left at 9:14 am Saturday morning. She was angry and went off on me about being late for my 9 am appointment. She went on about how much she did not appreciate me not showing up and how I had wasted her time. She went on and on and on. Seriously! If I had listened to that message that morning I would have never stepped foot in her salon. My appointment was without a doubt for 12:30 and if anyone's time was wasted it was definitely mine! I saw a very rude and unprofessional side of her business from that message. Lesson learned! NOT the place for me! read more

After living in Marietta for 18 years, I finally found a hairdresser who understands my hair! Michelle, at Salon MD, has restored my brunette hair to its original luster and has added flattering highlights to give my hair dimension and sass! Although I am not Asian, my hair is almost black, straight and fine. I have only gone to Michelle two times so far, but she has transformed my hair from a dry, brassy, over-processed mess to hair that is glossy and cut perfectly. Since going to Michelle I have received so many compliments on my hairstyle and color. Several of my friends have even asked me for Michelle's business card. Unlike many hairstylists, Michelle takes the time to listen and fully understand her clients' needs before she starts working her magic. She takes her time, and the whole experience is pleasant and relaxing. Plus, her prices are better than most local hair salons. I give her my highest rating! -- Andrea of Marietta, GA read more

I got a groupon for a haircut, deep condition, and full highlights and all of that was amazing. The haircut looks awesome and so do the highlights. I was told I would have to pay about $20-$40 extra due to the length of my hair and I was okay with that considering how much getting all that done actually is and when I got there, we started my hair right away. We got through the haircut, then the bleach, and we were starting on the hair dye and then I started thinking how much extra it would be. When I asked her, she told me it was looking closer to $80. EIGHTY DOLLARS EXTRA. I didn't even have that much because I didn't expect such a high price. I wasn't just going to get up then and there and refuse to pay it because my hair only had bleach in it. I thought it was very sneaky and rude how I wasn't told the price upfront; especially if it was going to be a different price than we originally talked about. The reason she got 2 stars is because she did an awesome job. I just hate the way she she sneaked around to get my money. I ended up paying $125 for my hair when I could've gotten it done for cheaper. I won't be going back there. read more
