After reading a lot of mixed reviews, I decided to check out this place since my parents come here all the time. I'm pretty particular about my salons, but there wasn't much to critique. One suggestion: instead of having the TV stuck on an advertisement channel selling smiles and pain relief products, it might be more enjoyable to have a Netflix show on repeat or some music playing. You've got teenagers working here, so I'm sure they could easily set that up. But really, it's just a small thing. The salon is family-owned and operated, so the atmosphere is more relaxed, as you'd expect. My mother and I came in without an appointment and were seated right away. The technicians took their time and did a thorough job. It was nice to feel relaxed and pampered. I'll definitely come back when I'm in the area again. read more

I really wanted to make this my new regular nail place.....but I have been there twice, and twice left with an injury on two separate occasions. This time around, I was cut pretty severely, my cuticle got sanded off by a spinning tool used carelessly. It was quite painful for several days. The lady who did it barely even mumbled an apology. I got painful and bizarre cuts on three of my fingers, underneath the fingernails, done by a cuticle trimmer tool which she used under the nail. Ugh. Never going back. I needed to remove my acrylic nails so i decided to stop by here given the fact that this place had 4.5 stars. I should've kept driving. As soon as you walk in it's very smelly and just gave me a vibe of "we don't clean here often" lol I asked if I could remove my nails. And they asked multiple times "that's it?" No pedicure. Once they were removing my nails the lady was bit gently at all! She was rough where I had to move my hand multiple times cuz she was hurting me. Overall, just keep driving. I just had an amazing experience here getting a powder dip manicure and gel pedicure. The service was great, and my nails look beautiful. I got the full spa treatment, and the manicurist paid very good attention to detail, making sure the water was the right temperature and that everything was comfortable. I'm very ticklish and she was very accommodating to that as well. read more

I scheduled an appointment at least three weeks in advance with Tina. I called the same day of the appointment to confirm that Tina will be doing my nails. When I get there she wants someone else to do the pedicure even though there were no customers in the shop. From the start the atmosphere was cold, not a smile, not even offered water. I felt as though the entire pedicure and gel manicure were super rushed and I had to ask for the sides of my nails to be cleaned up. One nail was obviously lean as well. I explained I had a photo shoot and that I needed my nails as perfect as possible this was clearly not taken into consideration. It was as if I was begging her to do my nails and not paying her! I went to Salon La Vie this afternoon around 4 PM. I asked if there was time for a mani-pedi since they close at 5 PM on Sundays. The gentleman at the counter was very nice and accommodated me. He has a great sense of humor and cracked jokes here and there throughout my visit. The salon was decently clean with standard nail salon decor. The nail technician I had was Tina. She worked very quickly and had a lot to do to clean up my cuticles on my hands and feet. I am rough on my hands, and I also hurt my back recently so I haven't been able to tend to my feet like I normally do. She did a decent job prepping my hands and feet before she painted my nails. The actual paint job itself was lacking though. I chose a nice shade of red, which can be difficult to apply cleanly, but this is why I came to a professional. I think she was going so fast it made her a bit sloppy. She "cleaned up" here and there around my nails with her own fingernail, but when you do that with red polish it leaves behind a slight red/pink residue which looks amateurish. She could have gone back and used a bit of polish remover to clean up properly but she didn't, so I will have to try and find my nail polish remover and use some cotton swabs to remove the residue around my nails. The polish application at the base of my nails was also not done neatly. Some of my nails look distorted at the base because they are lopsided. And as my nails grow out it will only look worse. Also, the price for a basic mani-pedi is $30. But when Tina showed me the 3 pedicure options and told me to pick one, she didn't say it would cost more. When I got to the counter I got a bill for $38 instead of $30. BEWARE: if you choose any pedicure off the menu they show you in the pedicure station the manicure goes up to it's normal price of $12 and then you pay the full price for the pedicure you choose. None of those 3 pedicures on their menu is included in the mani-pedi for $30 listed on their menu and they do not disclose that. I gave a $10 tip because Tina did take the time to really clean up my nails & cuticles, but if she didn't do that I would have been really disappointed and left a smaller tip. Overall I am not sure if I will go back again or not. If I do, I will be sure to get only the basic mani-pedi combo for $30 and ask the nail technician to make sure the polish is applied symmetrically and cleanly. read more

I decided to go here on a whim on a random Wednesday. I had spent the entire previous day biting my nails down to nothing due to stress and I needed a fix. I got there and it was empty so I was immediately helped. I walked in the door and I was out of the door in less than an hour. That is UNHEARD OF for a walk-in at a nail salon. I was astonished and pleased. Tuan sat me down and I picked out a NexGen powder color (red, of course. I'm but a simple soul). He put the tips on and got to work. The conversation wasn't too overwhelming but it also wasn't awkwardly quiet. He worked very fast which made me nervous at first - but it really was because he was a pro at what he does. I'm very happy with how my nails turned out. It's been a week and they are still in PERFECT condition. I'm very happy with my experience here. First let me say that I had a lovely time at this salon. Note that I am not in the XY or Z side of the generation of the times and due to the Covid-19 I have not had a manicure in years. Well things have certainly changed. Please don't hate but I imagined a gel manicure included the creation of an actual gel nail. Oops I was wrong (maybe in the future) and so they had to start over which they were so sweet about. Tina did a beautiful job on my gel nails and added gold sparkle tips as requested. Very odd place. All of the nail techs kept taking very personal phone calls, and between the yelling and laughing, it was really awkward and inappropriate. I took a chance by coming to this salon after finding mixed reviews on here, but it was well worth it. I went in during a time that wasn't busy and luckily got Angela! It had been a while since I did the dip powder after my nail tech at another salon moved and had a horrible experience after that. She did my dip powder manicure with tips and she was so precise! It wasn't too thick and bubbly as some people make it. I appreciated that she took her time and was even transparent about the price before hand without me even asking. I had gone to this place multiple times, I even brought my mom one time to do her nails with me and the last time I went, they did a terrible job. I did the acrylic dip and my nails were super thick and crooked. When I went back to fix them, the lady kept telling me that it was my nails that made them look that way. Came in yesterday afternoon for a pedi and lip wax, I knew before coming in for my appointment that they were short staffed and I've worked at a nail salon so I deff understand when that happens. I was in no rush to get my pedi done so I didn't mind waiting. The gentleman who made my appointment was very friendly and made tons of jokes! He offered me water and set up my pedi chair for me. I didn't catch his name but I believe that was Ken (the owner). I was then taken care of by Lee. She worked pretty fast and I guess since she was in a rush, I didn't get a long massage for my legs. She worked very thoroughly with my nails since I'm prone to ingrown nails which I appreciate. She did great with applying the polish and doing my lip wax. This place is affordable and offers great service. The chairs are legit massage chairs that work well on your back. It's my first time trying power dip and I totally recommend it. So I waited until after my second visit to review this nail salon. I was looking for a place that was close to home and opened on Sunday. I walked in wirh no appointment shortly after they opened and was taken right away. The service was great, all the staff were very friendly and it's a small place. Not your typical production line joint. I expressed a few concerns and they walked/talked me through it all. Never assuming what I wanted or doing anything I didn't ask for. The owner Tina is awesome. She is fast and neat. One downside if you want to call it that is she is the only one that does nails because she wants to ensure quality. All the guys do the pedicures. They even have a loyalty program. Tina's husband (I'm assuming) is a true comedian. He makes you feel right and home. They give you a bottle of water as soon as you are seated and if you nails are soaking they even provide a stylus so you can still fiddle with your phone. This is my new go to spot! read more

The girl working on my nails stoped three different times to help new customers who walked in after she had started my nails. I regret giving this place another try. I am not one to ever complain to my nail tech but when I do i am most def not mean or condescending in any way. I showed the lady a pic of my desired shape, $5 extra for it, fine by me. She asked me how long and since the shape I want requires me to have a little bit longer nails than I would like I just went for it. That's until she was "done". Honestly they looked like I had play dough on my fingers so I respectively and calmly asked her if she can cut them down a little bit. & that's when she proceeded to throw the nail filer on the table and took a deep sigh to tell me I should've said something before she dipped my nails... so then I took a deep breath and responded "I know I apologize". She goes in the drawer and pulls out a bigger flier, at this point I know she's annoyed and to top it off their ac is broken when it's 98 degrees outside and she throws that one at my left hand while she has my right hand in hers. So I remain calm and asked her if she didn't want to do it to please have someone else do it. She gives me the speech again so I apologize again. I cried in my car once I left because I'm not one to make a scene and make someone feel horrible and I still tipped her and paid for a service I know wasn't to my standards.
