What I left with was a chemical war zone on my scalp and hair that looked like it had been through a haunted car wash. The stylist completely botched my color. It was patchy, uneven, and flat-out fried. I looked like a spaghetti squash that had been left out in the sun. Worse. I went back to give them a chance to fix it and it somehow got even worse. The stylist acted like they had never seen a toner in their life and honestly seemed like they were not in a sober state to be handling bleach or scissors or any other living creature for that matter. I ended up going to another salon just to undo the damage and they were horrified at what had been done to my hair. After spending over six hundred dollars and enduring two appointments from hell, my hair is still damaged beyond repair. Think straw with commitment issues. Do yourself a favor. If you value your hair, your time, or your dignity, run in the opposite direction. This place should come with a warning label and a fire extinguisher.

And I'm very particular about my hair length and how I want it, my hair is insanely thick, textured, and grows fast so it is a nightmare to do any regular upkeep. I just recently moved back from the military so I've moved around a lot the last few years, and honestly I've never had a haircut anywhere else that comes anywhere close to what i get here. Since moving back to the area a few months ago, I have gone to Sue's twice (once with Michelle cutting and once with Brittany) both experiences were so therapeutic and wonderful, the first time I had Michelle do some thinning and get my split ends fixed but I kept my length and she did such an amazing job at keeping my length but also getting those split ends trimmed up. This last time I told Brittany she has full rein to do what she thinks my hair needs, since it's so thick and being down to my butt it was soo heavy I was getting headaches and I literally just used to throw my hair up every single day bc I couldn't manage it, I'm a long hair girl and always have been, so when I told her she can take as much as she thinks would be best I was so nervous, but LET ME TELL YOU she did the BEST thinning I've ever had, layering that is so clean and somehow lines perfectly to the contour of my wavy texture (because sometimes layers with waves like mine causes some weird frizzy poky ends) and she gave me a little face framing. My hair has legit never felt or looked this good in my whole life, I wear it down and style it all the time now because the layers she gave me are so perfect I can do straight, or light curls, or let my natural texture go. It has been yearsss since Ive actually loved my hair, and not had to fight with it every single day. And just the experience here is always so nice, im literally counting down the days until I get to go back and get my haircut again bc it's like a form of therapy for me.

I specifically told him that I liked the volume and length and wanted to keep it in some areas- mainly just refinements and adding more layers. Unfortunately, he essentially did the opposite and significantly tapered the back essentially undoing months of growing out. What's most frustrating is that this wasn't simply a misunderstanding about the style I wanted--I specifically pointed out the part of my hair I liked and wanted preserved, and that was the area where the most hair was removed. I had spent months growing it to that point, and now it will take several more months just to get back to where I was before the appointment. I understand that not every haircut turns out exactly as expected, but listening to the client--especially when they clearly identify what they do and do not want cut--is fundamental. I left feeling like my instructions weren't heard, and unfortunately this isn't something that can simply be corrected with another haircut. In my case, what a stylist charges and their "level" aren't indicators of their ability to listen or their skill. In the future, I'll ask what the stylist is planning to do before they proceed.

I like how they traveled to me for this since I didn't want to be spending my wedding day traveling to and from the salon! So yeah, Dani and Erin have become a part of my Saint Louis family and I'll continue to support Drew Henry! I go every 6 to 8 weeks for my haircut and occasionally I get some color added. She was very nice, but that doesn't compensate for experience. While I was okay with the hair cut, I was very unhappy with the highlights she gave me. I gave her a picture and she could not replicate it. She placed one of the highlights right under the part in my hair so the highlights didn't really show and they were not done all the way to my roots. After I was done, I looked like I got my hair done at least a month ago. I was not happy, but I was not going to complain about it because I didn't want her to try to fix it. Long story short, I asked for a toner to fix the warmth on my blond job plus a trim, received PARTIAL HIGHLIGHTS in a chunky Avril Lavigne red and was charged approx $400 before tip. Kevin was visibly uncomfortable but didn't offer to fix anything. Didn't even realize how bad he was until I went to get it fixed at a better salon and was charged $190 for the toner I wanted and a more drastic cut that took twice as long (Kevin's color faded after a week and I decided to cut my loses).
