I met Sarah and immediately was drawn to HER hair. It had movement. The color was beautiful. She was the perfect mix of down to earth, but elegant. There are a lot of things that I'd like to highlight about Littlefield. - Caring personal touch: It was my first time there (and certainly not my list), but Sarah and the rest of the stylists knew everyone that came in by name. They asked personal questions like, "How was your trip last week?"... "How is [name of the class] that you're taking?". - Thoughtful decor and ambiance: This space immediately puts you at ease. The waiting lounge is set in a comfy living-room style. Everything from the lighting fixtures to the beautiful small touches. Instead of sitting in the corner with aluminum foils on my head in an uncomfortable chair, the "coloring station" is around a beautiful glass table, complete with snacks, drinks, magazines, and cool conversation with other people around the table. It's clear that client experience is something that Sarah and her team have thought extensively about! -Comfortable community feel: It's pretty amazing that clients stroll through the front door, say hello, and help themselves to snacks and the coffee machine. The music is relaxing, but upbeat. Everyone from single-digit-aged kids that were getting their hair colored, to older men looking for a trim, to the quirky young professional that is graduating from the cheapo-supercuts. I immediately felt welcome, and I can see everyone else feeling the same way, too. - No obligation to continuously make small talk: It might be just me, but sometimes, I just want to go to a salon, and relax. To be honest, I can't imagine anyone not feeling immediately comfortable with Sarah. Sarah is wonderful at having awesome conversation sometimes, and then sometimes, just chillin' out and leaving comfortable silence. I think she has the gift of "just knowing". I like Sarah. She's talented. The salon is amazing.

So many great reviews for so many great experiences. So how could anything go wrong? Well . . …read more My first visit to the new Ambrosia location was after moving back to the area a few months ago, and my short bob needed a cut. Loved the easy-peasy online booking and since I wasn't anyone's client yet, I just scheduled by who was available. The front desk reception is delightful - welcoming and helpful. I liked the low key atmosphere, no hard sell on retail products, and the location with plenty of parking. I did not like being taken to the shampoo chair before taking my jacket off, and leaving it on the floor with my bag, getting dripped on. Anyway, that first cut was a good length - but - each side was styled different from the other. One side had feathery layers, the other side was a straight cut bob. It was cleverly blended, and I didn't see the difference until I washed and tried to style it myself. Live & learn, everyone is new and has to learn, right? So the next time, I made an appointment with a different stylist. It was going well from the first - I dropped my bag off at the chair, explained what I was looking for (please fix the sides so they're the same , or as close as they can be), and what I didn't want (please don't follow the cut I have, it's not done as I requested) and even had pictures of my hair cut correctly in days gone by. We were so much in agreement, it seemed all too easy! Of course, a day later after I washed and blew it dry myself, I somehow now had feathery bits on the opposite side and a close-to-straight bob on what was the original feathery side. So disappointing. Three tries is usually my limit when going to a new stylist, but I have to give up at this point and just grow both sides out out and keep bringing my hair pictures with me, looking for a stylist. I had high hopes but unfortunately it won't be here.

I advised the salon that I had a Groupon to redeem upon scheduling and was advised that they have an extra charge to blow dry long hair but outside of that, the Groupon would cover everything including the deep conditioning treatment. Nancy was amazing and so sweet. Upon finishing my cut and blow dry, Nancy said I was all set sighting that I had mentioned my hair being long but saying it wasn't that bad, so extra charge for the blow dry that I've been charged extra for the cut when my hair was shorter (extra fee for long hair was the reason) which I shared with Nancy as I thanked her. She also shared prices for services without a Groupon which are more than reasonable at $25 for a wash and trim(no blow dry) but now that she's seen what I like, I'm okay going without the blowout next time plus the conditioning treatment is a $20 charge which is optional but a great value. Definitely found my new go to hairdresser. The salon was quiet but not uncomfortable and likely due to the gloomy, rainy conditions on a Friday at rush hour but it worked out well for me.
