I have learned through the years…read morethat people who cut your hair generally don't listen, and cut hair according to their experience and comfort level, as opposed to actually listening to what you personally want- I do not recommend this salon. It's hard to find someone talented to cut your hair. Won't return- Still looking for that kind, patient stylist who listens, and has skills. The good news...my hair will eventually grow back. That being said, because the stylist didn't listen, it will certainly take a while for that to happen.

I have…read morehad a lot of frustration w/ other stylist when I specifically asked for a "layered" cut b/c my hair is very fine and has little natural volume. The stylist would act as if they knew what I wanted and it would always be the same UNlayered bob! Daniel listened carefully to what I wanted and with his Sasoon training knew exactly what to do! It is the best cut I've had in this area. The only problem is I have NEVER paid $100 for a hair cut before! And frankly, that is way over my monthly budget, so I will have to consider carefully whether I can afford this service next time. However that does not effect my UNreserved PRAISE for Daniel's skill and results as a hair stylist!

Spent $800 at another salon and still orange, uneven color, and VERY brassy. Came into the salon for a consultation and scheduled an appointment. This was more than a color correction for me. This was a transformation. Walked out with a balayage highlight. I believe she used three toners to correct the brassiness. It worked! I have had my hair colored nearly my entire life and this is by far the best color I've ever had. Bring in a picture of want you and she will absolutely match it. Very talented color artist. For the level of her skill, she could charge far more than the salon does. So happy! Thanks girlie! Sam

I've lost count of how long I've been coming to her to color & cut my hair but it's been at least 6+ years. I also happily drive three hours to see her, that should say all it needs to say right there. Stephanie is the owner of the salon and she works magic on my hair. I've always been known to be very picky with my hair which is why I struggled to find the right artist for some time. Once I found Stephanie through my mom it's been smooth sailing since. She listens to your needs and respects the way you want your hair done. I'm grateful to her because my hair is so healthy after coming to see her all these years. I continue to get so many compliments on the color she helped pick for me and she only cuts the dead ends that need sprucing, so my hair has maintained it's length. The prices at Salon Montana are extremely reasonable for the quality of service you get. Also I don't know how she does it but my color actually stays! I'll come back 90 days after and we notice how good the majority of my color has lasted. At other salons I felt like the colors quickly faded but not here. The shop itself is very welcoming and cozy. Always clean and the location in downtown La Quinta is perfect as you can run next door to grab a quick coffee or snack before/after your service. Stephanie really tailors her services to everyone. Men and women's hair. I'm in my 30's and she's my stylist for life (or for however long she will put up with me lol). Also to note my moms in her 60's and also comes to her regularly. Her hair has never looked better and is so healthy now. It just shows if your reading this, whoever you are, it's likely that Stephanie will get it just right for you and she definitely deserves your business. I have followed Felipe from another establishment here in the desert. To be quite honest... I'd follow him wherever he was doing hair... in his garage, park, or Walmart parking lot.... Because he's the best. I have dark brown... waist length hair with gray roots... so my color, cut, and style take up a lot of product, time, muscle, and technique. Felipe does an amazing job and always exceeds my expectations of my visit. When I leave the salon my hair is gorgeous. Felipe also has an amazing knowledge of hair products... it's really quite impressive how he knows exactly what one's hair is lacking to elevate its texture or appearance... he knows his stuff. I love the salon. It's on El Paseo nestled in the exclusive El Paseo Village. Parking was easy and there are wonderful places to shop and dine before or after my appointment. The shop is quaint, clean, and modern. I look forward to my next appointment
