I didn't realize how unhappy I was with the vibe at my old barber until I stepped through the door here and felt right at home. Everybody actually enjoys being here, and that's contagious. Ethan did my cut, and he was super nice about talking it through with me before getting going, and spent time getting it exactly right, and even helping me out with styling pointers. I was happy with the cuts (if not the vibe) at my prior place, but now that I've had a chance to wash it, style it myself, and wear it for the day, it's definitely a cut above (pardon the pun) what I was getting at my prior place. Can't recommend him highly enough. Just an A+ across the board for making a new customer feel welcome, having a great environment, and giving a great haircut. Oh yeah, and it was $5 less for the cut than I was paying at my last place to boot.

I tend to go more than 6 weeks between haircuts -- I go around min. 3 months, and her haircuts grow wonderfully despite my lazy and cheap habits when it comes to dragging myself to the hair salon. Her prices are reasonable when it comes in terms of what magic she does with people's hair. I have thick, wavy hair and most hairstylists will treat it like straight, fine--the humidity does not think so, so they shouldn't either. Mirela will tell you what is realistic for your hair type, hair blowing habits, and generally makes sure you can make your own hair look great without an professional to do it. I should note I do not get my hair dyed, and my hair doesn't grow that fast. However, one of my relatives does have her hairdyed and cut by Mirela and looks wonderful each time she does. I also get my lip/eyebrow waxed by Mirela-she is gentle, and does a very good job. She is also quick, which helps.

The color was not consistent and she rinsed my highlighted hair with dark hair that still had dye. Surprise surprise, the light hair was darkened. Laura denied doing this and has taken no responsibility for the mistake preferring to blame me for just being unhappy with my hair. No apology or even goodbye, Laura and her daughter hid in the backroom sending someone out to do the billing. I have spent hundreds of dollars and many hours attempting to correct her mistake. Apologizing for her error would have gone far. We all make mistakes, but to refuse to accept responsibility and leave me hanging is not professional. I will never go back to this salon and will advise all to do the same.

I went in again today, and Erin fixed my hair (free of charge) and it looks absolutely amazing. The roots are blended perfectly, and my root touch up looks so perfect and it is blended seamlessly. She also gave me a free blow out, which she absolutely did not need to, but she did and my hair just looks so great! I am more than happy with it. I also did the conditioning treatment, which revitalized my dead hair. Overall, I would highly recommend Salon J and especially Erin. I have always loved her haircuts, and I'm now happy that I can confidently endorse her hair dyeing and root touch ups as well. So so disappointed and unflattering on me. I hate being seen in public with this hair that cost over $300.

I was thrilled after my first appointment to have finally found my hairdresser! The salon has a great atmosphere (and music) and Julianne is the first stylist to finally give me the curtain bangs I have been asking for for years.
