If not for the rudeness of one of the owners- I would not have written this review. My retired stylist recommended Christine at this salon to do my Brazilian Keratin. I booked directly with her via text. 6 wks later- bye. appt 1: GREAT Brazilian w/Christine. Although I found she had to borrow the Brazilian Blowout from another stylist. I have had poor results from other brands so only use BB. 9 days later: Dips w/ Vanna(the owner). I decided to "try" dips after leaving acrylics. Looked nice but realized later- didn't push back my cuticles which was odd and I couldn't do it now-- or would have a gap. Never had that not be part of getting nails done ever. 10 days later-Roots with Christine- mentioned cracks in my dip nails- told Marc the other owner, but Vanna was gone. 1 day later - 1st broken nail. Called salon- offered to fix but not on wkend. I had company for a wk- so had to wait till next appt. Total of 5 nails BROKEN. 2 weeks later, Dips w Vanna. Recommended we try an additional dip coat- it looked and worked great. NOTE: Part of my experience at a salon is having a good verbal rapport with whoever I am spending the next 1-3 hours with. I like to get to know them as well. I am in the business of customer service and own a very successful business that relies on building a relationship with customers. At that appt- I brought up how happy I was with the Brazilian Keratin. Vanna made it clear that wasn't a product they carry and shared Christine had to get it from another gal who was independent. She tried to sway me to try their product but I let her know that I didn't feel comfortable spending $$$$ for a potential fail when I know what product works best on my hair. She offered nothing for a trial opportunity with their product, so I felt my biggest reason for going there was not an option at her salon. * I thought it was a fluke about the cuticles so I asked at the end of this appointment if the next time she could do that. She told me that was an extra $5! ?? I just found that so odd to charge more to do something that should be part of nail work. Its her salon- but why not wrap the price the total cost for dips. 2 weeks later & Final County mask mandate now in effect. Marc, the other owner/husband politely contacted me to remind me of new mandate, since optional in past. I had bad experiences with masks prior but could wear them very short amounts of time. I knew 1-3 hrs for salon appt would be difficult. I could have exercised my exemption right under the county mandate but found a mask that would work for me on etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/793403748/smile-visible-fashion-mouth#last It prevents particles from going thru plastic & instead of a face shield which goes down just below your chin--this goes just above my nose. I felt it was better than having to bring up my health issues with wearing the mask & the owner, Marc found it interesting/cool and asked where i got it when I got there. ** I also let Marc know I wanted to cancel my upcoming root/color the following week. He didn't ask why, but the color only lasted 3 weeks (vs 5), took 40-50 min (vs 20-25) to process. I didn't share this at the time. During dip appt,within 2 minutes, Vanna blurts out rudely "You know that mask doesn't protect you". Stunned, I replied "Just like the mask that you wear doesn't protect you". I reminded her masks we wear don't protect ourselves from the virus. It helps us contain our own droplets when we talk. I don't cough/sneeze with it.I still get a tissue. I said my plastic will ensure when I talk,no droplets will go thru it,unlike the fabric she was wearing. I said it helps me breathe easier. She said- "whatever you say"- and DID NOT SPEAK TO ME THE ENTIRE REST OF THE TIME. Nothing like getting ATTACKED by the OWNER as if she was the mask police. She didn't ask me anything about why i don't wear the other types. AFTER foils on nails, she left to go speak to her husband-- who later came to tell me that a "customer complained about my mask". NO ONE SAW IT! I was in the other room with 1 customer w/ back to me getting her nails done entire time. He then said he looked up mask reqmt & since not a proper face mask, it was not acceptable. I said "no problem" and said nothing else. Between the poor hair product and her complete lack of respect for a customer, I cannot honestly recommend supporting this business. I liked the nails, but she has absolutely no class and is horrible at customer service & building relationships. She is rude & brash, especially when someone is trying to do the right thing. To be attacked for trying to choose something that worked for my health?? I shouldn't have had to justify that or my health. I was just trying to support a local business and get my nails done. Shame on you Vanna! You didn't deserve the tip I gave you but I felt sorry for you. At least your husband was polite as he told me "a customer complained" when I knew who it really was. smh read more

I saw Blake @thehairmeister today for the very first time after coming across her page on Instagram. I have long thick curly hair and its been dyed a ton and not always the right way. It was quite a challenge for her to blend the multiple colors, rings and patches that I collected over time. She did an amazing job, put my hair and curl health first and I could not be happier with the outcome. My hair just looks so natural and perfectly blended. I have a few REALLY stubborn grays which we didn't notice until after my blow out and she even offered that I come back to touch that up for free. THANK YOU BLAKE! read more

And as I said, I attempted to make an appointment online and was unable to anyway and Yelp or/and Groupon site indicated "walk in welcome." Upon arriving at 11 am, there was no one at your salon and was told no one would be available until 12pm. Never been to a nail salon that operates so exclusively as yours. So please don't make it as if I made up the info that your salon was not open for service or by appt as Yelp site indicated it was open for business. Thanks but I will take my business elsewhere. 9/17/18 11:05 am. So not happy with this salon. I got a Groupon for gel mani & when I went via Yelp to schedule an an appt on Monday it only had afternoons yet said "Walk in Welcome." Well I walked in at 11 am & no one is at the salon except the hair stylist from the other side. She calls the owner & he says someone will come in at noon. Ain't nobody got time for that! **This was first emailed to the salon to try and prevent having to write a negative review but no one replied** Here is my experience at Salon Cosmetica. I first visited your salon on September 12. I found your salon through Groupon. My hair took about 5 hours. Throughout the process she was completely unsure of what she was doing. I came in for a root touch up. At the end, she said "you only wanted a partial root touch up, right?" The entire time I had thought she was taking care of my roots throughout my head (that's what it had looked like). Wouldn't that be clarified before starting? And who gets a partial root touch up when their rootage is brown? So at the end of the appointment my roots are yellow. This is a problem for me as I am a model and was leaving 2 days from our appointment to work a week long job in Atlanta. I dismissed it, because she seemed very concerned about getting my hair perfect which I was very appreciative of. She only charged me $30 for the toner, and so I gave her a generous tip. She told me she would reach out to me about fixing my hair when I came back in to town. A week had gone by and I had not heard from her. She has my phone number and Instagram handle. I messaged her about getting an appointment and she acted like it was a nuisance for her to fit me in her schedule. We scheduled the second appointment on September 22. Again on September 22, she was clueless and unsure of how to treat my hair. The woman at the station behind hers had to intervene several times and I felt as if I was at a cosmetology school getting my hair done by a student. At the end of this appointment, my roots (from the front of my face) were still not matching the rest of my hair. I even had a circular dot of color missing on my roots as she checked with the tip of her finger to see how it was lifting and then did not reapply to that area. I was so ready to leave at the end of my appointment after listening to both hairdresser's go back and forth almost the entire time. Then as I am ready to pay, the receptionist tells me that after another several hours of sitting for a root touch up they were going to charge me $200. I never purchased the Groupon as I was told that it would be honored in store. I told this to the hairdresser and she did not care. I again bit my lip and paid. I have NEVER paid $300 to get a root touch up done. Not to mention one that has been done so poorly. I am so disappointed with my service at this salon. Then on Tuesday of this week I was getting my hair done when they asked what the heck happened to my roots. This is absolutely disgusting. I had no idea it was even this yellow. I would like my money back as this is going to be extremely expensive for me to get my roots fixed before getting them touched up again. I am going to be charged for a color correction as I should be. read more

Never got to go to salon. Purchased a Groupon for pedicure. Person who picked up phone was so rude! Stated Groupon was for one person only and she has no appointments till next week. I commented that's as odd, she explained it was in fine print of Groupon. I did not argue with her, and she went on to say CLEARLY YOU DID NOT READ FINE PRINT! She hung up on me! The set up is a little odd as there was no receptionist. Seems like everyone takes turns at that which is ok but I felt weird waiting alone. I had asked in advance if there were any specials for new clients and was told no (which is fine) but before I wrote my review I see they offer 25% off the very service I got. Got ANC nails. One of the owners MARC answered and was extremely rude to me. I had previously been here a year ago and hadn't been too satisfied with my pedicure, so I had left a previous review on here. However with that being said, I DELETED the review in hopes of giving this place another chance. So when Marc answered the phone I politely asked to schedule a manicure, he goes 'we can't do that because you left us a terrible review'. So they are just blatantly denying paying customers an appointment now?! And he said that's right GOODBYE in a mean tone and hung up on me. I am shocked at how unprofessionally this was handled, I really wanted to give them another chance. I'm sure he is going to reply to this review and be nasty and say some more things that are untrue, but people should know who they are dealing with at this place. Beware! To say that I recommend Shelbei would be an understatement. I hesitantly went to Shelbei a year after another hairdresser in the area completely destroyed my hair, afraid I might have a repeat of last time. BUT, Shelbei was incredible and exceeded all my expectations. She took the photographs I brought for inspiration and completely transformed my hair from bland, damaged and unattractive to absolutely bright, beautiful and dimensional. I have never been so happy with the way my hair has turned out at a salon. Shelbei listened, was very friendly, took her time to make it perfect, and meticulously and methodically transformed my hair. I explained that most Groupons DO NOT work the way she was claiming. Im from NYC, just moved here a year ago. I decided to explore options for a new salon. If I find a great spot for nails, I stay loyal, and loving to my nail girl. Mind you I did step in with a Groupon. I still gave Jen the manicurist a 40% tip on the original price. I use natural looking NexGen . It has always kept my nails in tact. Until I came here :/ My nails began to fall apart within days. Marc, the manager was very responsive to my complaint. Offering me half the price on a new 'set'. My nails were destroyed nevertheless, I tipped Jen 30% on the original price. This woman had an awful attitude, and no regards to my somehow 'passive assertive' says of asking her to please shape them a certain way, and try not to be so rough. My cuticle was bleeding! Still no regards for my meager request. I left my nails looked awful, and continued to fall apart. I have 6 tips still growing from nails that broke. Whether it was the quality, or horrible customer service I received, with no care for the $30 in gratuity for !40 in services. I would not sit in front of that rude girl, if you paid ME. It's a shame. Nvm the rude response I received on Groupon to a mild suggestion to avoid testing this salon for NexGen services..' Good thing you got a Groupon huh?'
