Had a horrible experience. The stylist Michelle was in a hurry and used me as a guinea pig for one of her home made products which smelled disgusting. She was very self absorbed and did not really listed to me as I was explaining the haircut I was looking for. She was busier talking about her lavish lifestyle. When she was done she loved the haircut but It was just ok. She was in a hurry so she even did not bother to show me the back of the haircut with a mirror. I was very disappointed and had to wash my hair when I got home to get rid of the bad smell. I won't go back. She even bullied me when I told her my last haircut was last May. After an entire year away from my stylist, I made the 3 hr drive to see Daniel St. Germain at his new location, Salon Copage. It was worth the drive!! Daniel is FABULOUS and performed a miracle on my hair! And, the salon took every precaution to ensure my safety. I really appreciated that since a color/gloss/cut/dry is a long time to be in the chair. The only negative is that you need to have cash to tip and I didn't know that going in so I had to make a quick trip to an ATM. In over 50 years this is the worst haircut I ever had. In addition, my hair has been like straw since I had this cut and color. The grey at my temples started to show a week after the color job. That has never happened to me before. I had won a $95 gift certificate for a cut and blow dry which costs $80. I asked how much single process coloring costs. $60. Okay, I thought, "That's $140 minus & $95 will cost me $45. That's a very good price." I told the person on the phone I had a $95 gift certificate. When the stylist started to work on my hair, I told him "single process only." He said, "okay. I'll just pull it through." I had no idea what that meant and repeated, "single process only." He replied, "okay." Checking out, to my surprise, the cashier said, "$200." I told her that was incorrect. I had a haircut and single process which should be $140. "No. You had full color and... (a term I'd never heard before). She called the stylist over who said, "I told you I was pulling it through, and you had the ..." I said, "What is that?" He explained, "When you were having your hair washed, she put some (stuff) through your hair so the color would last longer." "I never asked for that. I don't even know what it is and if there was an extra charge, you should have told me. You said you were" pulling my hair through" and I reiterated I wanted single process color only. If you did something else, I should not be paying for it." I was quite upset at this point, getting nowhere, so I pulled out the gift certificate to pay. "Oh, we can't take that." !!! I asked to speak to someone in charge. The cashier called to another woman nearby and showed her the certificate. "You can't use that. This is from another stylist who has rents his chair. You can only use it with him. See the name on the certificate." Yes, there was a name but how was I to supposed know it wasn't the owner's name. I had specified when I made the appointment that I had the certificate and had not been asked the name on the certificate. Now I was really furious. I asked to see someone in charge. "I am the owner," the woman told me. I repeated the entire story. "I am not happy," I said. "I was told $140 and am being asked to pay $200 for something that was done without my permission or knowledge. On top of that, you won't accept the certificate." The owner finally concluded I would "only" be charged $140. Then she pointed to the certificate. "You can certainly use this when you come in again. Just make sure your appointment is with... And, note the date. You must do it before May 15 because that's when it expires. Next time you come in? Why would I every visit a "clip" joint that not only sought to charge an additional $60, wouldn't accept the certificate, and finally, gave me the worst, the very worst haircut and color I ever had. My hair wound up as straw, I had to have it recut, The color that was gone within 2 weeks whereas the usual coloring I have lasts almost 2 months. I threw away $140. The next time I come in will be NEVER. read more

She made fun of my hair the entire time, saying how my roots were blotchy, my ends looked like they belonged to a homeless woman that has never had a hair-cut and proceeded to make me feel like absolute crap. I had the worst first time experience here. I did some research as I was in search of a really talented hair stylist that can cut my hair. I have thick hair and it needed to be shaped. I read the yelp reviews for Salon Copage and they a seemed to be pretty positive with very talented stylists. I called to make an appointment and explained what I was looking for and how my hair was and they were able to get me an appointment for today at noon with Michelle H. I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment and she came to introduce herself to me and at that moment she already seemed a bit off but that doesn't mean she can't be talented. I sat in her chair and showed her my hair and what I was looking for. I needed layers and a framed bang. She said to me "is your hair dirty or is there stuff in it because it's greasy" I said it's not dirty just has some hairspray since it was in a bun. She seemed all over the place and rude. I was told to go get washed. I went and sat in her chair and we went over a few things and she started to cut. No precision cutting, parting or guiding. There was another stylist next to us and she was practically in my lap. The other stylist was cutting and they were bumping into each other. She said "I can't do this, come on" we got up and moved to another station and she continued to cut like Edward scissor hands all while complaining about the other stylist. Then we finally get to the blow dry and she goes to her other station and starts moving her stuff in asking me to hold things while she figures out how to plug things in and make it work. Then goes and grabs some my stuff and puts it on my lap while she goes back and picks up some sort of shelf to put under the station for me to put my stuff on. Then she starts to blow dry. My hair is very thick and she's asked me "my god do you hate having to do your hair? I could never do this all the time" I said my hair is easy to blow dry and always comes out nice just takes me like 30 min" She sprayed root lifter in my thick hair and blow dried it after I told her I don't like a lot of product and like my hair to feel silky. My hair was not styled at all not even flat iron or smoothed out. I did tell her I wanted beautiful blow dry body. My hair cut is not what I expected and For my first experience and $80 later I WILL NEVER COME BACK!! This was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon and I'm very familiar with the business as being a cosmetologist myself but out of the business. I was so pleased, she listened to me an what I wanted..I was thrilled when I left! I went back to her last week..She just did what ever the hell she wanted..Kept talking over me..did NOT listen to one word I said!! It was horrible..I WILL NEVER GO BACK!! This was the worst hair cuts I have ever had..my hair is very thin..she used a razor on me, which should NEVER be used on thin hair!! She cut my hair one inch longer, on one side then the other..she told me I needed bangs..I said clearly NO, she told me to except change, and cut bangs!! It was the most precision haircut I have ever gotten in my entire life. I have a cowlick in the side of my bangs. Whatever he did my cowlick no longer exists! It's unbelievable. He is very pricey.
