Well, they're certainly not something you'll have to worry about at this little slice of heaven in downtown Woodstock! Set in amongst a few of the older businesses and buildings in town, this little salon sticks out with it's tasteful decor, beautifully designed sign and incredibly welcoming and warm interior. (Literally, it's beautifully cozy inside against the winter cold!) I came to this salon in search of something fresh and new. Somewhere that is inclusive and with the right 'air' about it. And no, I don't mean that wonderfully perfumed smell of hair spray and product that lingers in every salon. I mean the people, the vibe and the feeling that it gives you! My stylist of choice was Jordyn, a young apprentice well along her way on her creative hairstyling journey! But don't let the 'apprentice' title scare you away. Not only does she have a keen eye for sussing out a customers desires. But she's open, bubbly and extremely excitable about all things hair! She might be learning, but she's definitely got talent and a team working alongside her in this salon that are helping her hone her skills. It is incredibly comforting and assuring hearing all the back and forth between her and the owner Sunni in regards to product mixing, placement and advice throughout. Even without that, I felt like I was beneath the brush of a well-seasoned stylist and the work truly shows! The salon's atmosphere is definitely a talking point too. Don't underestimate the place. A wonderful amount of chatter permeates the salon with good vibes and entertaining conversations abound. Sunni herself might be a bit outspoken, but it's the good kind that leaves you smiling and chuckling at her clearly great relationship with the stylists working alongside her. Not to mention, her daughter brings up the most curious and entertaining of conversations which was definitely a highlight of my visit! So from boring brown/blonde to vibrant dimensional reds, my experience here was nothing short of great. I was left smiling ear-to-ear and to say I'm happy with my results is an understatement. I highly recommend this salon to anyone and everyone who is looking for a new salon or something different! Keep on being amazing everyone! The salon has a cute and modern feel to it from which I learned that the owner's redid themselves! I got my cut from Sochenda who also happens to be the owner of the salon. She's the sweetest! She knew exactly what I wanted which is rare. It was like she could read my mind! Usually it seems like you're on the same page with your new hairstylist and then damage is done and it's too late to turn back. Not with her!!! She was able to give me the cutest bob and without chopping too much of my hair off... so I guess technically it would be a lob (long bob). She even curled my hair afterwards! On top of that, I was in desperate need for products because using my boyfriend's was just not cutting it. She patiently helped me search for the perfect products and walked me through how to properly use them all. All in all, a very positive and happy experience and will definitely be back!! Beware... I have been going to Allanti School Of Hairstyling…read morefor the past 10 years to take my son to get a haircut. That has come to an end. I went there today with my son as usual for a special haircut that he wanted. They told me this is a job for some guy, I don't know his name but I guess he is an employee or perhaps the owner. It was at 4:30 and they close at 5. After waiting for an inconsiderate time, a guy came down from upstairs, he has long brown curly hair with a scruffy beard like look. He demanded the money first but in cash only. I did not have cash, only a card so told him how about you start since there is limited time and while he is cutting the hair I'll go to the bank and get cash. He was hesitant but agreed. I said to him why do you demand the money first what if my son is not happy, he said then we would make it right - a familiar common hair type of dispute excuse, but I didn't mind. So he started cutting and I went to the bank. I came back a few minutes later and looked through the window and saw he was cutting my son's hair, so I lit up a smoke before I went in. Right away a girl came to the door and demanded the money now. I said I'll be right in. Then the thug came out in a rage demanding the money before he finish the haircut. I said to him I'm leery about your approach. I can see through the window my son was putting his coat on to come out. I guess he must have told him he is not finishing the cut. NOW WE"RE ON THE SIDEWALK. I said to him what is the issue, do you think I'm going to rob you for $25. I said what do you think I'm here for? I want a service, I pulled the cash out of my pocket and said, you finish the cut and then I pay as usual. He then tried to grab the cash out of my hand while punching me in the stomach at the same time, neither was effective. I realized I was at an advantage as this guy was clearly intellectually limited. I said I'm going to charge you with assault, he ran around my car like a lunatic taking pictures. He said he's going to call the cops too. I called the cops, while he is ranting and raging on the sidewalk and parking lot. The cops told me to stay in the car with my son until they arrive. After a few minutes the area of the business is loaded with cops. I first told the cops what had happened and then they went in and talked. Of course the girls working there or I guess students all said there was no assault. I had no witness, so no charge. I then went to Haircutters where they finished the cut. I also found out that they are $5 dollars cheaper then Allanti School Of Hairstyling. Needless to say, I will never go back to Allanti. When you go there beware. It appears that your money takes priority for them and the haircut or client is not so important...beware.
