I've been a client at this salon for years but have recently come to reluctantly and sadly admit I…read morecan no longer get my haircut there. I am of an age group where I am at higher risk for Covid related illness and additionally I am immune compromised. I have wanted appointments where I could wear a mask during my services but this request was treated in an aggressively unpleasant way by the salon owner's own daughter. This individual has given the impression she is against vaccination as well as allowing others the choice to mask for their own safety. Her attitude made my appointment very uncomfortable. There are zero Covid safety protocols in place in this salon and almost no one masks even during the recent outbreaks. This may not impact other folks in the slightest but if you are immune compromised and trying to find a salon that acknowledges/accommodates and takes Covid precautions- avoid, avoid, avoid. I don't mind what people's personal beliefs are but when they influence my experience at a business and potentially impact my health? The risk -in my opinion- isn't worth it. I'd rather give my money to people who are at least open to the idea of allowing people to take precautions against infectious disease if the CDC advises their risk group to do so. Two stars because I really loved and appreciated the times I had my hair done at this salon before Covid- before things got so crazy and, at this establishment, just downright angry.

Color Correction King!…read more Dr. Blonde is a lifesaver! I came in with a complete hair disaster--patchy, uneven tri-color situation and what I thought was beyond repair. But he worked absolute magic. His skill with color correction is on another level. He took what I thought was impossible and turned it into the most beautiful looking blonde I've ever had. I asked him to leave some of my natural dark hair in the lower back for layered dimension and he did just that. I absolutely love it! He's not only incredibly talented, but also professional, patient, and honest about the process. He explained everything, made sure I was comfortable, and didn't rush a single step. You can tell he truly cares about the integrity of your hair and the final result. If you're struggling with a color gone wrong or want to trust your hair with someone who gets it, go see Dr. Blonde. He exceeded every expectation. I left the salon feeling confident, beautiful, and like myself again. I cant say thank you enough. Client for life!

I just moved here and I only spent 20 minutes searching for a nearby blonde specialist, and should…read morehave looked closer to the details. I stumbled upon Raul through yelp and found good reviews for color correction and return clients. Perfect. So I call and schedule an appointment. My appointments were months ago and I'm finally ready to write this review. I don't even know where to start. My appointment time was scheduled at 2 and he arrived 20 minutes late because he was waiting for an uber. That's fine I understand not everyone has a vehicle and people depend on public transportation or ride share services. While waiting in the lobby of the salon my gut was telling me something was up so I was asking the front desk receptionist about him and his quality of work. All great things were said so I was feeling reassured. He arrives and is super apologetic for being late. I let him know I understand no worries. That wasn't a big deal for me. We get back to the chair and the station that he rents out. It's located in the back and there is very awful lighting, no authentic window/day light; that threw me off. At his station, I was expecting him to have everything all there. But I realized when he walked in he was carrying 3 large bags. All of his supplies were in his bags. It took him a minute to get all set up and pull everything out from his bags. Before the appointment we talked about my current color and what I wanted, I sent him pictures of both my current color and my inspiration pictures, platinum blonde or at least get me as blonde as we can without killing my hair. When he asked what we're doing today we made a plan that I'd like to have a shadow root with a full highlight so when my blonde grows out I won't have harsh lines from new growth, he said yes. With the bleach - he did great - he was checking me every 10-20 mins while I was processing making sure my hair wasn't stretchy and breaking. I loved that. After rinsing out the bleach and washing my hair, he began brushing out my hair. It was soo tangled and he barely used any product to detangle it. Right away he started brushing and pulling out my hair in clumps. I understand that blonde causes breakage and I was expecting some but I mean CLUMPS my head was sore after he was done brushing it. I even helped with brushing in attempt to do it softly and prevent breakage. After drying he realized that certain parts didn't take the blonde to the level we wanted so he wanted me to come back for another around of bleach cause at this time it was almost 8pm. He told me to soak my hair in coconut oil to rehydrate it overnight. So do exactly that and I come back the next day. He's already there and prepped for the appointment which I loved. I appreciated that he was ready and willing to fix the color with another round of bleach to get it where we wanted it. This time the color was right and everything looked fine. Now I'm asking about a shadow root, he stated that he didn't have the supplies to do that and that it looks good like it is. Okay so now that we did all this blonde like a full all over highlight I'm gong to be stuck with harsh roots and some of the highlights are reminding me of Cristina Aguilera back in the early 2000's. Not really my goal. But it is what it is. And I'll live for it for a while just to let my hair recover from this. I got home and did more research about him. I looked at his lower starred reviews and found what I was looking for- the same inconsistencies that I experienced. I found his website. All photos were super old and looked like his website hasn't been updated in a LONG time. Red flag for me I guess. I'm writing this review because he lacked communication, wasn't prepared and seemed like he was all over the place. The 10 hours I spent with him, I never felt relaxed like I expected to feel with previous stylists I have had. I don't know. Honestly he did fine with the blonde and got me to the color I wanted but overall with the salon being outdated/dark, his lack of communication/preparedness and poor bed side manner is why I will not go back to see him unfortunately. I wish the lady at the front desk told me to run.
