I returned three items of clothing the same day I purchased them after trying them on at home,…read more(they had no dressing room), but after leaving the store and a second look at the refund amount I realized it was short a few dollars. I returned and brought it up to the girl at the front desk who sold the items. After staring at her computer for a good 15 minutes, she told me "I didn't return your tax because tax is not refunded on returned merchandise." When I asked her if she honestly thought customers still pay taxes on items they have returned, she looked frazzled and spent another 10-15 minutes on her computer trying to come up with an answer. When she realized I wasn't going to just walk away and let her keep the tax amount, she said "Ok, I'll refund your tax" as if she's doing me a huge favor and making an exception. But even then she gave no receipt for the returns. When I asked for a receipt, she told me: "We don't give receipts on returned items. They're given only for sold items." I asked if she had a pen and paper. She said yes, and just stared at me. So I said, Can you write on a piece of paper that I returned these items and am due a refund? By this time, visibly fed up with her customer asking for something I should have received without asking, she writes on a Post-It note pad "Items returned 8/22." After my experience, I was surprised to see the additional tax actually refunded on my credit card. I was honestly expecting a few more back & forth discussions that led nowhere. What should have been a simple return became an unnecessarily aggravating experience with someone who clearly needs training and basic common sense, like merchant can't keep the tax charged on returned items, or that a customer needs to be provided proof of return. Just goes to show your employees can cost you much more than you realize. They lost my business for good. I'm new in the area and was looking for a new hairdresser but given my experience, there is zero chance I'll ever step foot in this place again.

A few weeks ago, I was going through the same process... looking up "best salons" and doing my best to find pictures and reviews of individual stylists - trying to pick a "good" one before I called to see if they were available. I was calling on Thursday, getting ready to leave on vacation the following Monday. We were planning a photo shoot the next week, so I was taking a HUGE risk going to get my hair done right before our trip, and with someone who I had never worked with. I called many places, but naturally, some of their master stylist were booked till the end of time, so there was no way I would see them last minute. I finally stumbled on Shag Spa and Salons. They've been in the Woodlands 11 years, and had many different stylists. I looked through their reviews, and further researched any stylists I thought might work for me. Enter Alex! First of all, I was so happy to see she had an IG page with her previous clients before and afters (@alexatshag). Because I couldn't assume her skill based on her years of work (as compared to a master stylist), I needed to see what she had done in the past in order for me to feel comfortable enough to sit in her chair. I've had some awful hair experiences (as many of you have), so needless to say, I was very nervous! I wanted a soft balayage and a trim with some face framing pieces. Simple, yet considering the circumstances, it could have been a disaster! I called Shag to start asking my questions.. Alex heard the receptionist doing her best to answer, and eventually got on the phone so we could talk. I poured my nervous heart out to her ( I really want this, but I'm scared!) Haha. She listened to what I wanted, explained her process, and opened up her schedule on her day off so we could get er done. I met her early the next morning, and before she did anything, we sat and talked and looked at pictures and she again further explained her plan. At this point, all I could do was sit back, let go and enjoy the process (literally - I love my hair being played with!). Alex was AMAZING. She took her time, talked through what she was doing with me, answered all of my nervous questions, and was SO sweet and happy the whole time. She mentioned she loves what she does, and you could feel it - she genuinely enjoyed painting my hair and styling it! The results speak for themselves. At the end (this took several hours), we were both so genuinely pleased, and I was pretty much shocked at HOW good it came out. I've never had my hair look like this before! She was so excited at how great it looked - it made me feel even better about what I had come in for! I mean, I knew I liked it, but when your stylist is sincerely stoked at how great it looks, you know you did well!! I am SO happy Shag was here for me, and that someone like Alex works for them - I have been in the Woodlands two years, and have finally found my hair stylist!! I absolutely LOVE my hair.. Thank you so much, Alex!! (I didn't have great before pictures, but the afters are fantastic!)

The woman who did my hair wasn't sure of the shade. I told her I wanted the shade to blend in with the rest of my hair. She did a great job. She was very hospitable however, she didn't explain to me how the process worked. She wasn't very friendly. Tip: if you're getting roots done you can ask for the extended time which is 45 min or the standard time. No one explained to me the process. A different the girl washed my hair. She did a great job. When my hair was washed, she asked me if I wanted a brush or a comb. I wasn't expecting to be asked that question. She proceeded to walk me to this bar where there were a blow dryer and hair products. She pretty much left me there. I'm pretty speechless at this point because obviously from everything that's going on I can figure out myself that it's DO YOUR OWN HAIR. If you want to invest in a blow dryer, the Dyson works faster and the business should invest in providing microfiber hair towels. Their hair dryer took forever to dry my hair. .I walked out there with partially wet hair. I wasn't going to stay in the entire time to blow dry my hair and do my hair right where everyone is sitting. In fact, I just wanted to get out of there. I wanted to take a look at my hair to see the roots were recovered and that was pretty much it. What I failed to check is the color was left on my hairline from the hair wash. Smh.. The woman who colored my roots didn't check to see if the roots turned out ok. She wasn't the one who checked me out either. She went on to the next person without even acknowledging a thank you for coming in or hope you like your hair. Despite her lack of customer service, I still left her gratuity. Unfortunately, I'll never return to this location. No customer service. Disappointed. Feedback: If you're looking for new customers or new members for that matter, you might want to reiterate the process of how your business works because as I was sitting there, I was interested in being a member. It was a great price, but after this experience, I don't think I'm going to return. I can go to another for salon for the same price who blow dry + style for the same price. Madison Reed charges extra for everything here.

He's the only one I trust with my hair, and that says a lot. We've gone from to below my waist long with highlights to super short and fun colors to simple to exotic and everything in between. I no longer have to tell him in detail what I want, he listens, looks at my face, makes recommendations and then goes for it. And, it's gorgeous with very little fuss or muss to maintain.
