I recently relocated to Long Island and have been a loyal customer at Aqua for just a few months now. I've had the pleasure of being serviced by both Vinny and Madison, who are truly exceptional professionals. Kathy at the front is amazing too. That being said, I've also referred over a dozen friends and family members, all of whom have also become regulars. However, my experience with Jen at the front desk has been disheartening. During a visit in December with my girlfriend, who is a person of color and openly gay, Jen displayed passive-aggressive behavior, insisting we pay upfront for services, despite my previous visits where payment was settled afterward. Despite my discomfort, we complied, only to later discover an overcharge (3x) on my card. When bringing this up, Jen insisted that my girlfriend just pay me back, worried that she wouldn't be able to afford the service herself. Despite my objections, Jen failed to rectify the situation until Kathy intervened and resolved the issue. Subsequent visits revealed a pattern of passive hostility from Jen, with other staff members acknowledging her behavior to my girlfriend. When I raised my concerns with the owner, he apologized and comped my appointment, acknowledging Jen's problematic conduct but citing difficulty in finding a replacement due to the nature of the job. During my latest visit (04/20/24), Jen's unprofessionalism persisted when she made a mockery of me when I let her know that i removed 180 grams of hair extensions from my head, which i was told was the reason I was paying $45-50 for a blowout, and that the new price could be applied. Making yet another joke, she said "Okay so it's $44" while laughing. Her dismissive attitude and refusal to acknowledge past issues prompted me to confront her, asking why she had been so passive and rude with me in the past when she and I don't know one another, only to be met with denial and defensiveness. She continued to bad mouth the rest of the employees by saying they're the same and all dislike me, not knowing i've formed relationships with several of them, having their personal cells or having them on social media. Even after expressing my grievances to the owner once more, his response was disappointing, brushing off Jen's behavior as trivial. He spoke to her for a brief moment before walking over to me and saying "she says she has gay friends, how would it make sense for her to be homophobic?" I was in absolute disbelief! He then suggested what he did months prior, that I find her replacement myself. This time around, I did let him know that it is not my job and that he can post a facebook post or put a sign at the door, instead of asking a customer to do his job. It's disheartening to realize that despite his kind demeanor, he's unwilling to address the toxicity within his own establishment. Regrettably, I've decided not to return to Aqua. It's unfortunate that members of the LGBTQ+ community continue to face discrimination, even in seemingly progressive environments. Overall, Aqua provides the best service and most pleasant overall experience of any salon I have frequented. The main receptionist is a class act and everyone who I came in contact with acts professionally towards me. (Sometimes the newer, less experienced people will gossip or vent their grievances to each other not realizing or caring that customers can hear their conversations.) In general, I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes to get started and am always offered a beverage. The salon and bathrooms are clean and there is a great variety of hair product to buy. Sid is known throughout the 5 Towns as a great makeup artist and eyebrow shaper and always lives up to his reputation. I am always happy with my haircut with Larry who is an artist in his own right. Whatever the occasion, I have always been pleased with whoever blows out my hair. I surprise my husband every so often with a gift card for a great pedicure with Elaine. The music is not too loud and the ambience is fairly relaxed. For years I dreaded going to get a haircut, but since going to Aqua Salon it is a pleasure. read more

Love Aqua. I came to the area from another state and Perry and Anderson have totally changed my look for the better. They gave me a sassy short cut with a color that brings out the best of the cut and a cut that brings out the best of the color. I get stopped so much with compliments I started carrying their cards I had one person in a restaurant go right over after seeing my cut and color and told them she wanted a "me" I have also used other stylists there and have had great results. Never been disappointed. place is always clean. And now Elizabeth Drucker is there for makeup and she is so talented and the facials are wonderful. As a manager of a local business, it's incredibly important that I always look my best for my clientele and Kelly is an amazing stylist who helps me do just that. I used to always get my haircuts at barber shops, but after several great experiences at Salon Aqua, it'll be years before I go back to a regular barber, that's for sure! Tamika gives an amazing scalp massage while she cleans hair, the entire reception staff is fantastic, and the atmosphere has an exclusive and high-end feel. This place is amazing. Larry cuts my hair and Perry does the color. They are both outstanding with their service. After having my eyebrows botched at a nail salon, I went to Karen at Salon Aqua. She has been doing my brows ever since and they look so natural and beautiful. I had keratin put in my hair by Anderson, and yes, another excellent experience. Their assistants Nina, Vinny & Theresa are charming and the Front Desk Staff is also very accommodating. I have been coming here for the past 5 years, and am very happy I made this change. read more

Today was my first time at the salon , I had come in for a blow out . My entire experience was great . I have extremely thick hair with a curly root and no one can ever blow out my hair but they did . I got the royal treatment today from my shampoo to my blow out . My stylist Sam not only made sure my root was straight but she gave me an amazing bounce to my hair it felt light as a feather . Will defiantly be back in the next few weeks for another blow out ! read more

Impeccably clean!!! Staff incredibly they didn't know what to do for me!! Felt so safe . The salon was set up as every salon should be during a pandemic. My hair came out incredible!! There were no crowds . The help kept wiping down and cleaning. Thank you for being so amazing all the incredible staff at aqua!! It was such a relaxing experience to come back to. Love it I have gotten my hair colored by Perry what a great guy, coversated the whole time made me feel comfortable since it was my first time dying and I am absolutely in love with my color!
