I can't go based on any work because he did nothing…read more I went in for a consultation, it was such a weird vibe. It was quiet (no music) and no customers. Three employees were sitting down chatting away while I waited for my appt. I went because i wanted to cut my hair into a long bob but my consultation specialist looked at my hair and said my hair was fried. There was nothing he could do, I was so confused. I said, I'm not here to dye my hair. I'm here for a haircut. He said, I know. You need keratin and once your hair gets healthy I could try. Out of curiosity I asked, if I get my hair back to "healthy " again. I asked who he would recommend and he said nobody here. I was shocked and to be honest, I was so over the consultation that I awkwardly laughed and promised him I'd be back. He could honestly care less. I wasn't too irritated because it smelled like hard boiled eggs or broccoli in there. Not to mention, The older woman at the front desk was hella grumpy as well. I have curlier hair and it's been a struggle over the years, to the point I started trimming it on my own. At this point, I just wanted a pick-me-up from a professional. She did just that, and more. I was super anxious walking in, and she just put me at ease. She was gentle, considerate, and professional. She didnt rip my earrings out with her comb, she didnt cut off more than I asked, and she really cared about me as a person. The game changer for me was that she actually offered to style my hair curly/natural. I have never in my life been offered to have my hair styled naturally. In the past it's either been a blow out, or just leave with it wet, no other options. However, Shamika asked what kind of styling I preferred, if any, and she even educated me, in a thoughtful way, on what the best products are for my hair.
