In February/ March of 2018 my husband book a hair and nail appointment at my favorite salon and…read morestylist. My hair appointment wound up getting rescheduled to June. When I was getting my hair done I requested low lights (black) and highlights (blonde) and the color bleed together and I walked out of the salon grey trying not to cry until I got into my car, because I didn't want to make Stacey (my stylist at the time/ and owner) feel bad. I had to wait a week or two (can't remember) before I could get back in and I was mortified I had to go to work in a professional setting and conducting meeting with doctors with grey hair, and expecting them to take me seriously. I was 32 at the time and couldn't pull off the 60 year old silver fox, nor was I trying to. In June/ July of 2020 once the salons opened I couldn't get an appointment. I understood they were over booked and everyone wanted in but I was willing to wait, but no appointment date was offered, and I had to go somewhere else. Fast forward to this past month I made an appointment nearly 4 weeks in advanced for 1/22/21. I confirmed my appointment via text several times and then got cancelled on the day before (after requesting off from work). I was told only the afternoon clients were getting cancelled on, and I wanted to see if I could move my appointment up to the morning. The morning receptionist said she would see if it's possible and call me back. Hours went by and I never got a call back. When I called I was told the receptionist I spoke with went home for the day. The afternoon receptionist I was speaking with told me an earlier day appointment wouldn't be possible. I was asking for the next available appointment day or how soon I could get in, and she told me that Stacie was booked out over a month in advanced and it was so far out she wouldn't even give me a possible day to reschedule to after I had already waited 4 weeks. I was a customer for over 8-10 years and followed her from her old salon. I told the receptionist I wasn't going to come back, and I get they probably don't care, but I'm the third person that I know who has stopped going after years of being a loyal customer. I wasn't a "Karen," I was flexible, bought the recommended products, never complained, even offered to pay when she corrected my hair color, and always tipped well. After being treated poorly for the third time I left a poor review similar to this one on their Facebook page, so maybe the owner could rectify or address or even become aware of the situation. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt (maybe the owner didn't know the receptionist forgot to call me back). But to my surprise the owner publicly lied and told me that they did call me back. When I told her all I got was a cancellation text message and I called back twice all she had to say was that their customers where their top priority for their successful business and they did call me back ASAP. When I told her that her staff isn't being honest if they told her that she said she was sorry I'm unhappy. I asked her that I was just sharing my experiences and what if this had happened to a bride the day before her wedding? Instead of apologizing, or taking any accountability, or admitting this could have been handled better she said; thank you for the feedback, and have a great day. The owner might as well have publicly told me to go eff myself . (This was the cliff notes version) This is the most unprofessional place I have ever encountered. You're better off saving your time and money and walking into fantastic sams or great clips and will probably revive better treatment. If you don't mind waiting 4 weeks and possibly getting cancelled on by text or possibly not being to reschedule with no sincere apology for some blonde bleach highlights then go ahead and schedule an appointment by all means because apparently Stacie is a one trick pony and that's all she knows how to do. Overall I'm disappointed with the service and lack of concern of loyal customers.

I have really bad luck at hair salons for some reason…read more First visit - the stylist asked if she could trim my hair a tiny amount (like 1/4") and I said yes. She took more like 3" off the back. By the time I saw how much she finished trimming. Admittedly, it felt a lot healthier but don't tell a client you're only going to do a LIGHT TRIM, then take at least 3" off. I asked my husband how much was removed from the length when I got home and he said about 3". It's not just me who could tell it wasn't just a "trim". It was definitely a cut. The quality of her cut was very good, and she did what she called "invisible layers" which also turned out, well, invisible! I couldn't tell where they layers were but she said she did them. I have no reason to not believe she did. The blowout was a horrendous style but nobody has ever been able to style myhair. This was no different. My bangs were in my eyes no matter how hard I tried pushing them aside so they'd stop poking me in the eye-balls. My husband laughed when I walked through the door. He said, "what the h*** is that?!" We've been married over 30 years so he can say what he's thinking and I don't get upset. I thought the same thing about the blowout. It was absolutely hideous but the price was reasonable for all the work she did and I loved the owner and listening to her talking with her client, so I thought I'd give them another shot and scheduled another appointment. I'm very forgiving. It's my nature. Second visit - I resigned myself to forgetting about the length issue since pretty much every salon I've ever allowed to TRIM my hair, actually cut much more off the length than they claimed they were going to. I asked for my color to be changed to a burgundy shade to give it more pop. I left with my hair wet because I was in a hurry. There was zero noticeable color difference. In fact, it looked pretty much the same exact color as when I left the first time, only no grey roots which was the main reason I started getting my hair done at a salon. I've gone many years without coloring my hair and it was time I gave myself an overhaul so I had my first color done at MGM in Las Vegas which turned out spectacular. I came here for a touch-up the first visit but I really wanted to go more vivid so the second visit I was excited when I arrived, but terribly disappointed when I got home and my hair had dried. Third visit - This morning, I had a 9AM appointment with 2 hours before I had to be somewhere. I arrived almost 10 minutes early which is usually plenty of time to check in and be ready to get started. The stylist wasn't on prem at the time I arrived. Not a huge deal since I expected her to arrive any time. It was almost 9:05AM when the nice woman at the front desk called my stylist to see if she was on her way. Well, she wasn't. She completely flaked out and all I could overhear was the woman at the front desk saying, "...20 minutes?" I looked up in disbelief, completely frustrated by this last chance I was going to give this place and I shook my head no and walked out. She was apologetic but it wasn't her fault. If you want to go to this salon, I'd advise against making an appointment with Carolyn (sp?) but ask for the owner. She's delightful, very knowledgeable, and I could tell she has repeat clients who have been coming to her for a while. Unfortunately, I won't step foot in the place ever again because I don't want to deal with the hassle I've had to put up with so far. I'm trying to give local businesses, my business, but this place was a total fail for me. The star rating is because of my experience but isn't a reflection of the owner herself. If she makes any staffing changes, I might consider going back.

While the haircut was decent, I probably won't go back. First, it cost 50% more than I was quoted on the phone, which is enough to guarantee I never return. No one appreciates being misled. While the cut was ok, it wasn't anything special and it wasn't exactly what I asked for. The style I requested is one I've had multiple times before, so I know it's nothing unreasonable to expect. Lastly, my favorite part of going to the salon is the shampoo/conditioning. However, she rushed through it, pulling my hair roughly a few times and slopping water on me... not pleasant.

My sister and I decided to get mani/pedicures on the spur of the moment late on a Saturday…read moreafternoon. Neither of us had had much luck finding a salon we like in the area, so we were looking for some place new. I remember reading about Nailsticks, and since it's very close to us, we decided to try it. When we walked in, the place was really crowded, and I didn't think they'd be able to take us. But, they did. We noticed that, unlike other salons, there was a lot of talking going on. The vibe here was really good -- all the technicians seemed happy and chatty. And, I'm not sure how P.C. it is to say this, but it was nice that we could understand them; at too many salons, the techs talk to each other in their native language and in hushed tones, and it just feels awkward. But here, they chatted with each other, they chatted with us, and they actually seemed to like what they were doing. We started with pedicures, and while that was being done, they also started working on our nails. I'd done a gel manicure myself at home, and I apparently put on way too many layers, so that even after soaking my nails in foil & acetone for a long time, it didn't come off. I apologized, but they just smiled and said not to worry about it. My sister was intrigued by powder manicures, so she got that. I wanted color-changing polish, so I got a shellac. The tech who did my nails (Mimi, maybe?) also wanted to see how the polishes changed colors, so she brought the samples & dishes of hot & cold water so we could see them change. Because of my over-zealous gel polishing adventure, it took a long time to get the old polish off of my nails. Consequently, we were the last customers in the shop. But not once did they make us feel uncomfortable or like we were in the way. Instead, they just finished cleaning the salon and chatted about their plans for later, while including us in the conversation. I was very pleased with how we were greeted and treated, and they also did a great job on our nails. I am sure that I will be back.

The repair was perfect and from inside of the salon the polish looked perfect too; but once outside, the sunlight revealed too many flaws: the gel was lumpy and polish was visibly on the skin around most toes. Based on the cost of $65...$75 with tip...the service did not match the price. My cousin and I went together, her second time. Her first experience was great. Her second not so good. Friendly staff. Basic mani and pedi, with gel polish that was lumpy and poorly applied. There seemed to be some confusion in price between both services. Either way, too many disappointments to constitute a return visit. Again, the service does not match the price. The inflation and consistency in price for nail services, in general, seems to be getting out of hand, forcing a personal decision on whether it is worth it.
