I have been a customer of Corey's for well before the establishment of Salon 114. There is no one I have ever found I who knows how to cut my curly head of hair better than him. Occasionally, I have strayed away simply out of convenience, but I have always found myself coming back. Did I say no one cuts curly hair better than him? That's right! I truly appreciate the fact that he goes back and double checks the cut to ensure that it's right. And, in the off chance that I ever have a cut that I'm not satisfied with ( maybe twice in thirty plus years) he makes it right without question. He and Paula have always made me feel like family so it's kinda like going home every time I'm there. Matter of fact, sometimes I go just to hang out when I'm in the neighborhood. If you're looking for someone that can do an excellent job with your hair and all that girly stuff, I would suggest you drop by and get to know them. It had been almost 15 years since I'd last colored my hair, but I was ready to try it again and wanted to go red for my birthday. I'd never been to Salon 114, but I took a chance with April and went all-in with an all over bright red color. I'm so glad I did, the result is AMAZING! April worked with me to select a red shade that matched my personality and she really made the color pop! April is very creative and does an excellent job of listening and making sure I'm happy with the results. April also cuts my hair now. I had really long hair and she cut it into a long bob. It's been so much easier for me to maintain and the cut makes me feel so much more put together. April also helped me with selecting hair products for my new cut. I hadn't used anything on my hair in years, so her advice was really appreciated. The mousse actually works and it smells soooo good. I've received dozens of complements on my shade of red, many from complete strangers, it's been really FUN! I highly recommend Salon 114 and April. I just moved here from Georgia during the beginning of this dreadful pandemic. After months of looking like something out of the "Cast Away" movie, I decided to begin my search for a hairdresser. I looked online and found that 114 Salon had a 5 star rating, so decided to give them a call. Corey, the owner, answered and was very helpful. We talked about my hair needs, scheduled my appointment, in a reasonable amount of time, and also discussed the Covid-19 protocol in his salon. I felt very comfortable. I showed up, he and his wife Paula made me so comfortable. They are professional and very kind people. My hair was cut and colored. It looked amazing! Paula also did a pedicure for me, one like I had never had before. These people are an amazing team of hair experts and when you are in their care, you know that their experience is top notch! I hate having to find a new place to do my hair...it TERRIFIES me actually! I was NOT disappointed AT ALL. I originally needed to find somewhere new because the place I usually go to was closed due to the virus. From now on I am coming here!!! April did an amazing job on my hair. (And she's really great to talk to!) My long, blonde, damaged hair has had a transformation! They even use Olaplex and so far don't charge extra for it. Spoke with the owner, Corey, and he DEFINITELY knows what he is talking about when it comes to hair. I've never had someone educate me so much about this kind of stuff at a salon EVER. My mom and I were in town for the CMA's last week and decided last minute to see if we could get our hair and makeup done for the occasion. We called numerous salons and no one was able to accommodate us. When we called Salon 114, Cory did all he could to get staff available to fit us in. April did an amazing job on our makeup and my mom got her hair colored and cut. She said the color was spot on and Cory did an excellent job with her cut. Mrs. Paula finished us off with fantasic hair-dos. We loved the looks so much and I did not want to take out my bobby pins and wash my hair that night. I grew up with a cosmetologist sister, when I moved away about 4 years ago I didn't think I'd be able to find another person I trusted with my long thick hair; then I found Corey. All my worries and stress have been put to rest since. I found Corey about a year ago and have been to him twice now for hair cuts. He is AMAZING, he listens to what you want, tells you what he's doing and why he's doing it the way he is. He will ensure you are pleased before you leave. Aside from Corey's hair perfectionism he will also make you feel right at home, making you comfortable and chalking up lots of conversations. He has a true heart of gold! I took a chance in the very risky world of salons and was very impressed with Salon 114 and Corey in particular. My very damaged fine hair was multiple colors after bad experiences and boxed color, but Corey evened out the color and gave me a great cut that removed the damaged hair without chopping it all off. This amazing experience was topped off by reasonable prices that didn't break my budget! Such a rare combination to receive great quality with affordability! I scheduled a last second (Saturday afternoon) at this salon. I had never been here but I sat in the chair and my hair was so bad, Corey asked if I could do Sunday because he wanted the time to get it right. It's important to know I was called out of town to corporate and leaving the next day. He did not know me from Adam but gave up a Sunday to make sure I could go to corporate world and not look like a clown. Everyone I met there seems so down to earth and friendly. I'm from out of town, pulled up local salons, and held my breathe when I made the phone call to Salon 114. I was scheduled in very quickly with Corey. If you're anything like me, you'd rather have your teeth pulled than try a new hair stylist. I can honestly say I was 110 percent satisfied when I left. I found this Salon through a family member and I have been coming to Corey for years. He is very easy to speak to and seems to understand what I want to do with my hair, (which isn't easy) even if I don't!! I have been living in Hendersonville for 10 years....I have been to a LOT of salons trying to find someone to give me highlights. I even bring PHOTOS with me and they say they can do that but when I leave I am always disappointed...I NEVER got what I asked for. I got the worst haircut of my life at the hands of Cory. In my opinion, he can't cut his way out of a paper bag. The " salon " is run down, and his droning on about his self proclaimed expertise on women and politics is offense. He even referred to his wife as "the Mexican"..
