I went to Southern Roots Salon in Abingdon, VA to get a hair cut with Miranda. Worst haircut I've…read moreever received. I took pictures of 4 styles I was considering, she barely glanced at them, didn't even pick up the pictures, just glanced as I was flipping thru them. She just said she would give me something in between all these styles which should have been my cue to just leave. But instead I stayed and let her cut it. My hair came out much shorter than any of the styles I brought in. I made a return appt thinking my hair looked OK in spite of it being too short. But after I got home I realized the right side was about an inch longer than the other side, there was a couple long pieces on the left side that didn't seem to want to lay anywhere, I finally figured out they weren't the same length as the rest of my hair on that side, they were about an inch longer as well. I sent her a message about it, she responded by saying she was sorry I didn't like it, she did not offer a correction cut and she did not offer me a refund. Had she done even one of these two things I would not be leaving this review. I have an appt now with a high end salon and will have to pay $40 for a haircut just to get this mess corrected. The whole time I was there she talked with her friend who was getting a color about other people while she cut my hair. When I go to a salon and pay for a haircut and style I expect the attention to be focused on me, not someone else, hence a bad haircut. Very disappointed in the professionalism of this salon. I'm sorry to be writing this negative review as I normally don't like to do this, but this experience was a very poor experience.

Every time I go by here they tell me they are too busy ... today I drove by again for just a trim…read morewith only two stylist there one person in a chair, two people waiting - the girl said "what can we help you with" and I respond "I just need a haircut" - it will be one hour wait - Really!? With only two people waiting!? This is 3rd time it's happened - don't waste your time by going to this place - they don't staff enough people to do walk-ins in a reasonable time or have folks who want to work. Head on to Greatclips at Exit 7 or SportClips next to Cabelas NEVER have these issues there!! Ever! I will never return again after this final time!!!

However, I made my first appointment and when i showed up my hair stylist could have been my great grandmother. Not what I was expecting at all since I figured the whole experience would be like a top end salon. There aren't many options in Abingdon so I went back and asked for one of the owners to do my hair and he was much friendlier and fun to talk to during my cut but I was not very happy with the haircut itself. I will probably not be returning to this salon.
