She then looked at the two incisions I referred to as Frankenstein and removed the stitches from my palm only. She said the ones on the side of my thumb will absorb. If you are faint of heart and don't want to be grossed out don't look at the photos below. She said they look fine but it looks grossly nasty and lumpy to me, not straight or smooth. Hopefully time will help the appearance. Good thing after COVID if I need to shake someone's hand my right hand will be extended and I'll hide my left hand in a pocket or behind my back. Shelby, NP sent me down to X-ray and apologized that I wasn't informed to go there first. My appointment was at 2:30 pm but we were there 2 hours from start to finish including application of cast by Alden in another room. Shelby is pretty, friendly and positive. I will be back to see her in a month.

It was a nasty cut and the whole situation was honestly terrifying at the time. I'm a little late writing this review (it's now February), but I'm finally fully healed and I've been thinking about how grateful I am for the team at Doctors of Waikīkī. Dustin did incredible work on my stitches. The injury was pretty bad, but he handled everything with so much care and precision. You can tell he really knows what he's doing, and I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. And Tabitha truly made the experience so much better than it could have been. She brought such positive energy into a really scary moment. She kept me calm, made me laugh, and helped take my mind off how painful and overwhelming everything felt. That kind of kindness really sticks with you. The whole office had great energy and a genuinely caring team. Even though the injury itself was awful, they made the experience as good as it possibly could have been. Funny enough, if they heard what happened after I got back to Sacramento they'd probably be surprised -- and maybe a little pissed -- because a doctor here took my stitches out too early and I ended up having to let it heal as an open wound. But through it all, I'm finally fully healed now, and I'm really thankful for Dustin, Tabitha, and the whole team for helping me through the start of that journey. He benefits from having his grandma nearby my most amazing observation has been how quickly every staff member has welcomed him and attended to his special needs- and they are numerous. I will start by addressing the nurses and nursing assistants. It is amazing to see everyone working as a team! I have never heard the expression "oh he is not my resident today. I will get HIS nursing assistant". If the Nurses air STNA's see a need, they stop and address it! The Dr's are EXPERIENCED, pro-active, gentle, and care deeply for the children they serve. The activities department is loving, kind, and quite entertaining! I have seen them engage every single child, even when it may seem that it would not make a difference- they still give 100%! The social worker stops by regularly to check to see if there are any concerns, needs, or observations. All I can say is, thank you! The respiratory therapist treat our little one like their own precious little guy! The same with PT and OT! Housekeeping is hands-down the best I have ever seen in any facility. The cleaning is continuous, there is no odor or unsightly concerns. Everything is gleaming. This may seem like an "exceptional review", but it is deserved! I am a registered nurse, and I have seen many concerning things throughout the years. It is for this reason that I came from Ohio to stay with my grandson. I'm the family member/care taker of someone who requires medication, and we've been thru the ringer of trying to find a psychiatrist actually accepting patients, and experiencing a really not good nurse practitioner medication manager who only does telehealth. Dr. Mee-Lee demonstrates that he is very knowledgeable, and his "bedside manner" with our family has been so patient and caring. Same goes for the office staff. Parking in downtown can be challenging - we park in the municipal lot at Marin Tower, I think it's about $3.15 for about 90 minutes, if i'm not mistaken. Great coffee, Irish pubs, and vegan food, nearby. Thank you Dr. Mee-Lee!
