This is not a review I write lightly, as I rarely write unflattering reviews. However, when they…read moreare deserved, I am not shy about sharing my experience to inform others. This is a "popularly referred practice." Perhaps they are popular because of the volume of clients that they service. Still, the office is old, smelly, and overcrowded with clients in the parking lot and the lobby, and there are long waits. Their phone and in-person customer service causes people to slip through the cracks. If I could give zero stars, I would. After waiting months for an appointment, I was forced to leave crying profusely due to the harsh treatment and unprofessional bedside manner of Dr. Ramachandran, PCP at Greensboro Medical Associates. Avoid him and this office! I am disabled and was 3 minutes late, stuck in their overcrowded parking lot in an argument with another patient who had blocked my car in, and I couldn't get my walking equipment out of my back seat (despite arriving 10 minutes early). I made it into the office flustered and explained to the front desk, but that made no difference to the doctor. Dr. Ramachandran had made up his mind about me because I had already canceled a previous appointment due to a COVID-19-positive status and resulting complications (excuse me for following CDC guidelines!). The "kicker" (and gut punch) was his demeanor. He came into the room without introducing himself, with no attempt at seeming remotely interested in being there, and said, "Why are you here," in a flat tone. Confused, I repeated the question because I knew I had constantly communicated with his staff about my needs; he became exasperated and then specifically asked what was wrong with me. That's when I knew something was not right. I wondered if he was okay, and he said he could refer me to his P.A., but he didn't think he and I "would be a good fit." Mind you, he said this with minimal time in the room, little contact with me, and with the most disgusted look of disdain on his face, I began to cry. Being from the BIPOC community and now disabled, I have been on the receiving end of that demeanor and look, although very far and few times in between. I couldn't leave the room fast enough (and have a walking impediment). I went, crying, to the reception and asked that it be noted that I do not want Dr. Ramachandran to have anything else to do with my file or anyone else at Greensboro Medical Associates. The office did not correctly handle the cancellation of my initial appointment due to COVID-19, and I am unsure if that caused the doctor's justification of his treatment of me. Regardless, I am not satisfied with the communication breakdown, his egregious behavior toward me, and the lack of empathy from the medical office. I would NEVER recommend this office to anyone.

There are a few complaints in reviews here about the age of the office & condition of lobby bathroom. Yes, the furniture in waiting area is older; it is also well built and is still sturdy. I'm more interested in the higher quality care, than the age of lobby chairs. There is only one bathroom in the lobby area, and it is used by the adjoining lab, so it is, at times, not perfect. A "please clean up after yourself" sign might be helpful, or simply let the lab know the bathroom needs attention. Exam rooms are modern, well equipped, and always clean. Providers are all skilled, caring and compassionate. Insurance companies are not dictating your care here. Providers will of course find med's. For you covered by your insurance company, but they will also work hard to appeal denials when you truly need brand name or med's. Not on your formulary. Office staff are great; I've never had any billing errors. I do suggest arriving a few minutes early, as sometimes there is a line to get checked in; it is a busy a practice! I highly recommend.

The receptionist was friendly and entered me as a new patient quickly. They had quality face masks readily available at the window. After about 10mins the nurse came and got me. She was very pleasant and ran all of my vitals / updated my chart quickly. The xray tech came in after just a couple of minutes and took my images. The provider was in about 5 minutes later. During the whole visit I probably only sat waiting on someone a total of 15-20mins from start to finish... which is unheard of for an urgent care in my opinion. The provider was down to earth and addressed all my concerns without rushing me. They were very thorough in all of their exams to rule out major concerns and I left with a clear plan, meds ordered, and ease of mind. I will certainly revisit this location should an emergent need come up again.

The provider even told me what to do should things not get better since she has seen severe illness circulating in the community. I was impressed by this urgent care facility and would visit again if necessary.

Dr Baxley was referred to me by another physician who is awesome. I started with Dr Baxley…read moreDecemberof 2014. I loved her. She spent lots of time listening to my health concern, primarily high blood pressure and pain all over my body. My blood pressure continued to be a problem. In May, while out of town, I ended up in the hospital with severe dehydration. I went for my 6 months check up in July and all was still well with her but my blood pressure continued to climb as did my pain. Then Dr Baxley cancelled a follow up appt that I had scheduled. My medicine, all non narcotic, was unable to be filled. I asked to reschedule. At my appt, things had really changEd at her office. She had no time to talk, told me that I had fibromyalgia and I needed to be on Ambien and steroids. I have had very bad reactions to each and sincerely told her that I couldn't take those medications. While having my blood drown, she walked back and yelled at me that if I was not going to do what she said, she was going to drop me. I called my husband from the parking lot and he agreed that we would risk it. She prescribed the medicine. That night I ended up in the hospital. Since then, I have changed to a different doctor after landing myself a second time (via ambulance)in the hospital severely dehydrated. The doctor at High Point Regional hospital admitted me into intensive care. He took me off the blood pressure medicine suspecting that I might be suffering from the ill effects of the severe diuretic in my blood pressure medicine. I just celebrated the best Christmas and New Years ever. My Blood pressure is within normal range and I DO NOT HURT AT ALL! I suffered from dehydration and continuous flu like symptoms for 3 1/2 year and now I feel 100%. I am back in the gym, not just water aerobics but weight lifting and Zumba. I feel like a new person. If Dr. Baxley had really listened, she should have known. Find a doctor that is there for you. Never settle for yelling. By the way, the office did call and apologize for her actions and then she dropped me as a patient.
