A teacher could not leave at any point without being out of ratio, which is very concerning given how young the kids are. (Example: a toddler who was already potty trained asked to go potty and was told they put a pull up on her so they didn't need to take her and put them out of ratio) The teacher for the 2 year olds seemed very dry and gave very little verbal praise during activities. Nothing about the instruction or preschool aspect of it seemed to be very stimulating. (no singing or excitement) In addition, the toys outside were mostly either very dirty or just broken, even right at the beginning of the day. Teachers didn't play games or interact with children unless it was for help or cry. Granted what they charge a week, this place is 100% not worth it.

I first hand experience the way she treats her employees, with frustration. For being a Christian community she is not one. She has one worker with 20+ kids and the other with maybe 5+ how fair is that for the kids not getting the attention they need or being able to FOCUS on one? My child has asked me multiple times to not take them because how mean she is not the children but those who work there. Needs to be serious action to be taken.

The excitement with which my child talks about the day's work, and the enthusiasm for learning that has been instilled, are very encouraging. I truly appreciate the Montessori approach, especially the practical life aspect, which has positively shaped my child's day-to-day habits. I'm also grateful for school's effort to educate parents on the Montessori philosophy and methods, as there is a lot that I have been able to incorporate into my home life with positive results for my family. The teachers were continually patient and understanding with my child, who had long stretches of regularly getting upset during the drop-off time. I would highly recommend Auburn's House to any parent!

Our daughter had been in a traditional classroom preschool setting which included circle time, small group work, and play time. What we started to realize is that she was developing a dislike for learning. She would fuss and not want to stay if we ever arrived at school during circle time or small groups. As an educator and PhD candidate studying Education this really bothered me. Knowing about the Montessori method, I began to search for this curriculum as I felt it might be a better fit for my child. I found Auburn's House and have been so pleased. My daughter is excited to go to school again, and loves to tell us everything she is learning! At school, our daughter is taught in a manner that develops the whole-child. This is very important as we want her to be well-rounded and have a variety of interests. In addition, the school supports the emotional and social aspects of the child that is void in most other settings. This gives her the ability to become an independent learner and explore the world around her. The special attention to the emotional and social skills has turned our quiet and somewhat shy child into a confident and independent child. While we could go on for pages about the benefits of this type of education, especially for preschool age children, the best way to get an idea of what an AMAZING place this school is for children is to visit and watch the interactions between the students and the teachers. It is truly something I never could have imagined after my years in education. Ms. Auburn has a gift, and we have been so lucky to be able to reap the benefits of her gift. Each child is an individual and Ms. Auburn appreciates this and helps each individual to grow on his/her own path. This is so important to us as parents, and to me as an educator. I could not have chosen a better place for my child!

Barbara and Heather are simply amazing, from the love and care they give the children to the wonderful program they run, we always knew our girls were taken care of and in good hands. All three of our daughters were more than prepared to enter kindergarten and always enjoyed the daily lessons put together by Barbara and Heather. They did so many fun activities and art projects that fostered creativity and curiosity while also learning academic fundamentals, and often participated in gardening and outdoor activities. Having a dependable, safe, and nurturing environment to leave your child is what every parent is looking for and we found that with A Happy Daycare. In the 10 years we spent with them, not once did they close their doors for a personal "sick day" or change their hours. All holidays were clearly communicated in their contract and minimal, which was extremely helpful for our family's needs. Each of our daughters developed a loving and close bond with Barbara and Heather and it was evident how well they were cared for during their time at A Happy Daycare. Their dedication to their daycare children and families is unwavering and we were truly blessed to have them be part of raising our daughters.

Heather creates fun age related educational activities for the kids and by the time she went to TK she already had such great letter and number recognition that it helped her to thrive and adapt very well to a bigger school and she was well on her way to reading and writing. She still talks about her friends and the fun she had from her time there. They also do fun themes for every season and do arts and crafts and stories around those themes, keeping the kids engaged so every day is not the same. Both my kids have loved when they do garden themed activities, planting sunflowers or pumpkins that they watch grow) Our youngest started when she was under a year old. She is still really enjoying her time there and did from the start. She never seemed upset to be dropped off when she was very little and was very happy every day at pick up. She is almost 3 now and loves it so much that she wants to go even on weekends. They are very convenient for year round working parents as they are rarely closed outside of public holidays(they take only a few days off a year and give very advance notice so you can plan ahead if you need find other care). They also don't have a strict drop off time which I really appreciate for the days I need to bring my kids in around 10 instead of early morning. My kids have always felt safe and comfortable there. I highly recommend them and I am so happy we ended up here when we initially started search for childcare 3 years ago. Our time so far has been amazing!

I went to Lutheran Church of Our Savior last Sunday. The service was a traditional Christain…read moreservice, which I enjoyed - no TV viewing or loud band. I was handed a pamphlet with the church information, service agenda, bible's readings, etc when I arrived. One of my favorite part of the service, was when the pastor, Rev. Scott Klemsz, asked the children to sit in front of the alter area and discuss the reading of the day. Kids can come up with most interesting unique questions and Rev Scott answered them all; in a way, that they can understand. During Communion, there is a choice to drink the sacramental wine from the communion goblet or individual cups. The members of the church were very nice to me. A couple of the members introduced themselves and invited me for coffee and treats after the service. I felt welcome. If you are looking for a Lutheran Church or want to open your spirit to something new and/or traditional, Lutheran Church of Our Savior is a good place to go to. I copied the following from the Lutheran Church of Our Savior's website... Bringing Christ to the Coast We believe that the entire Bible is God's inspired and inerrant Word. Based on this understanding of the Word of God, we believe, teach, and confess that Jesus, the Son of God, is the Savior of the World; that He was born of a virgin; lived a perfect, sinless life; died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins; rose physically from the dead so that we might also rise in both body and soul; and that He lives today as the only Lord of all. The Lutheran Church of Our Savior is dedicated to meeting the needs of our community and the changing lives through Jesus Christ. We are Redeemed, Renewed, and Make Alive through the Divine Service which is God's Service to us. The Divine Service is the service in which God offers His free gift of forgiveness of sins to us, poor, needy sinners. We receive, by the Holy Spirit, faith in Jesus through Holy Baptism. That faith is strengthened through the hearing of God's Sacred Word and receiving His Holy Body and Blood through the Lord's Supper. In this same Divine Service we give thanks and sacrifice to God for these gifts. We do so with our prayers of thanksgiving and praise, with hymns of worship that proclaim His glory and with our offerings. In all of this we are part of the eternal Holy Christian Church. We are Redeemed, Renewed, and Make Alive in Christ by the grace of God, through faith in Jesus by His Holy Spirit. We celebrate this in our Divine Service as is has and will be done forever. Jesus has also called us to be His witness in spreading the gospel to all people and serving others as He did. As faithful Christians, we strive to bring Jesus to the Salinas Valley and the world. Our members come from throughout the Central Valley. Our Savior is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) and millions of confessional Lutherans worldwide.

Scott Rocks! Thanks for the great times. Don't miss out!read more
