From the beginning, John, the owner, and his son Jonathan were honest, knowledgeable, and straightforward with me. What I appreciated most was that they took the time to properly look into the problem instead of immediately telling me I needed the most expensive repair. They explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, kept me informed throughout the process, and got my Camaro repaired and back on the road. John and Jonathan genuinely seem to care about their customers and doing the job right. After all the stress I had been dealing with trying to get my car fixed, it was a huge relief finding a transmission shop I could trust. Great customer service, honest people, and quality work. I'll definitely be coming back to El Monte Transmission for any future transmission needs. Thank you John, Jonathan, and the whole team! Highly recommend!

He explained that the transmission was having trouble shifting into third gear and would eventually need to be rebuilt. He also provided an estimate for the repair. Since the car is older, I decided not to invest additional money in rebuilding the transmission. Even though I chose not to proceed with the service, John still took the time to explain my options and recommend what I should do next. He went above and beyond, especially considering that the diagnostic was free. I truly appreciate John's honesty, helpful recommendations, and excellent customer service. I highly recommend him.

Whether it was for a service or consultation/estimate, Mark has been patient to hear me out through my million questions and explain each process. He's never tried to pressure me to do a service I didn't need and their pricing is quite reasonable. He even threw in a brake inspection and O2 sensor test at no extra charge since I was already in for the valve adjustment! I'm most happy to have found a mechanic that actually listens to my concerns - thanks to Mark for being so sweet! I'd recommend this place to my family and friends and will be a returning customer for sure.

The car was driving fine except during traffic so I had to bring it back in to get the full rebuild. It costed around $3k but I paid $2k since I got the $1k credited back. Victor and his son run a friendly, family-owned business, and their customer service is excellent. They provided an immediate diagnosis, followed up quickly with the price quote and expected completion time, and estimated about two hours for the repair. To my surprise, they finished even earlier than expected -- and they actually reduced the final cost because the work was completed ahead of schedule. That kind of honesty and customer-first service really stands out. It was also clear that they have a lot of longtime customers who trust them, and I can now understand why.
