We ended up putting together a package with them that included a seated meal, late night snack, and bar setups with mixers and we provided our own alcohol. I got quotes from at least five vendors, and Hunt Valley provided the most flexibility with food and bar options. They were the only vendor willing to offer more than two entree choices for a seated meal. They also had the most reasonably priced meal prices. We did two different tastings with Hunt Valley and they were kind and accommodating at each. They were happy to schedule a second tasting to help us finalize our meal and table setting choices. They were comfortable making our three signature cocktails and setting up the bar using alcohol we ordered from a different vendor. The month before the wedding, Darlene attended a two-hour meeting with our day-of coordinator and venue coordinator to make sure we were on track for wedding day. She was organized, professional, and great to work with. Throughout the planning process, she was always available to answer questions or address concerns. As we made changes to menu and tables, Darlene adapted perfectly. Wedding day service was seamless. Aside from a bit of a line at the beginning of happy hour (which I've experienced at every wedding I've ever attended), drink service during the wedding was seamless. I also appreciated that, when my husband and I joined everyone for cocktail hour, a waitress found me and brought us a large plate with an assortment of several of each appetizer so we could make sure to enjoy everything. Dinner service finished on time and not only did I hear no complaints about the food, but I heard a lot of compliments as well! We ended up adding a late-night snack in the month before the wedding, and guests raved about that too! Weeks after the wedding, I still have friends telling me how much they enjoyed the taste of everything. Finally, we heard from our day-of coordinator that Hunt Valley's staff were indispensable in the set-up process. We had a lot of decor items, and they went above and beyond setting up the tables with these extra items. They also lent a hand to the day-of coordinator at the end of the night, carrying alcohol out of the venue and placing it in one of our cars. Overall, we are really happy with Hunt Valley from start to finish.

The only issue I've had is with picking out linens, because originally I picked out what I wanted during an appointment, and later was told that what I picked didn't actually come in those colors. That was okay with me, I just needed to choose again, so I looked at the website. I liked some of the stuff I saw, but wanted to see the swatches in person just to be sure (literally, just glance at them for a second to make sure they were what I expected). I had to make an appointment, which is fine. I drove up and met with one of their reps (not the same person from the tasting) who had the book of swatches. I knew the name of the swatch I wanted, and just wanted to LOOK at it in the book, but she kept telling me that the book is not up to date, and I'm better off just looking online. Now, I'm not a bridezilla, and I've been what some may think is too passive during the planning process, but I drove from Baltimore City to Monkton just to see a piece of fabric and she's telling me the website is better? Since she asked, I told her that I had made a 30 minute drive to make the appointment, and I THINK she was trying to go over some things just to make me feel better about the drive, or something like that. She started asking about my timeline for the evening, which is when I also found out the time for my event was recorded incorrectly, and I wasn't prepared to discuss it because I was only there to glance at the fabric swatch. So that was frustrating. There have been some other instances where I've been told the wrong thing, like the cost quoted for linens doesn't include chair covers. It's frustrating, and I still really don't know if there is a meeting or anything typically before the actual event where the final details can be pinned down. Overall, I would say that they are good for the price, and the food at the tasting was excellent. There are just a lot of little annoyances along the way. Hopefully everything will turn out well!

She was the only caterer we tried but we really liked her hospitality and that we had an opportunity to support a small business. Cindy has a huge operation all out of her house. She provides not just food, but dessert, servers, bartenders, and if you ask nicely, she will help you pick out linens. She showed up to our event on time and was overall a pleasure to work with and kept things running smooth. There was a minor hiccup with the cake knife being misplaced but it made for a great photo we had a lot of leftovers that we got to enjoy for up to a week after the event. Some of our favorites were her sweet carrots, which everyone thought was sweet potatoes, and her carrot cake and cheese cake. Her cheesecake is insanely good. The carrots are like something from another planet. She won't give me the recipe but it's fine. Overall everything this woman touches turns to gold. She an incredible chef/baker.

My job hosted a nice family and friends picnic. The drive was just under 1 hour to arrival. There was a tropper parked outside the event, I guess to support the traffic flow just in case. Once we started to pull onto the lot, there were a few staff members posted to direct traffic and direct parking. We arrived to find several tents set up for shelter from the sun and plenty of picnic tables. Each tent area was either for food, crabs, or places to eat. For the most part the food was okay some items were better than others. They served us appetizers, shrimp croute, chicken wrap, fruit salad, crackers, cheese to name a few. For the main- brisket, ribs, salad, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, grilled chicken. There was plenty of activities for all ages. We had a DJ who played a variety of tunes that was diverse for all. The crabs were not too bad. The food was not served hot but close to room temperature. I was not to thrilled to use the bathroom trailer in the dark. I was inside the stall and came out to find I was totally in the dark. Thank God for my phone so I can shine light to find the sink to wash my hands. Not sure what happened but it was scary.
