The Salem Willows Arcade is one of two arcades that line the strip of amusements and food of Salem Willows. This arcade is just that - an arcade. Go in expecting to find video games, pin ball, dirty floors and people, and no A/C. Of course, if this is what you're looking for, then it's perfect. Personally, I love how kitchy it all is. Most of the games are throwbacks to the 80's. Some of the games even date back to the 40's and 50's. How fun is it to find out if you're a good kisser or how much you weigh (for 10 cents!)? It's very fun. :o) Overall, a good arcade for kids and friends. There is this one motorcycle game that you can race against three of your closest friends. It's from the early 90's, but really fun. You even get to sit on the motorcycles!!

Spend an hour there with my boyfriend and we had fun. Ended up spending another 10$ because we were having too much fun. The place has a wildwood boardwalk kinda feel. Perfect for summer nights.

Tickets, tickets. it's all about the ring pops and air heads you can earn with all those tickets.

I don't think I can appreciate this place the way people who grew up in Salem seem to. A fun place to kill an evening in the summer though.

I mean it is small. I like to walk around and people watch. There is a lot of that. Mostly for young kids and families.

This place never gets too old. The arcades are fun, the staff could be a little friendlier I guess. Lots of kids and parking spaces.

Solid arcade, bring your quarters, but don't forget to bring some dimes for the Monkey Band!

Plenty of really good pinball games, air hockey tables, even super old-timey treasures like Zoltan and the dancing monkeys.

Not only did they have food and drinks ready the moment we walked in, they accommodated our additional needs and even took the time to look up our organization and make signs with our logo to welcome us! They really went the extra mile and everyone in our group had a great time. I am so appreciative and I only regret that we're from out of town so I don't know that many people to recommend it to! I am not a frequent user of Yelp but I had to come here to sing their praises.

Though there was no host at the front desk at all which was a bummer. There is a coat rack outside of room with number tags to take. The kids love it especially for the laser tag room down the hall from the rooms. The rooms are small and narrow so if you have a lot of people coming there is room acrosd from the party rooms on same floor for parents to mingle in the lounge like area. The staff for the party rooms are a great help when it comes to setting up, directing and time to eat and cake time etc.... Once you are out that room though it may be hard to contain the kids because there's is a lot to do downstairs w prepaid cards as part of the package you choose. They also have the human claw game. The reason I have it 3 stars was because there was no front desk staff and the amount of tickets you have to get to get a decent prize is ridiculous. The quality of prizes are not that great for your ticket amount and they are not very exciting. It is a great place for ages 7-12. It's like a mock version of something like Dave and Busters. Parents make sure to keep an eye on your kids because its easy to run down thr kind stairs from the party room.

We got tickets through the GoCity card, and had to make our reservations for a time slot slot the day before. We arrived and checked in, got our sticker, and then waited at a second area to enter the museum when it was our turn. First part of the "tour" was a presentation of the history of the trials with creepy looking mannequins on display. I recommend you sit on the stools in the center of the room for best viewing as you have to rotate around left on your seat to see each display as they are presented. It's actually quite informative but the presentation of it was kind of cheesy to be honest. After that is over, you are taken to the back end of the museum where there are exhibits about how witches are presented in movies (ie the witches of Oz), and defining witch hunting then and now. There's a gift shop for all things witchy at the end.

Inside, however, the vibe is a bit of a time capsule. It feels like a mix between a theater and a history classroom--very "vintage 1970s" but in a way that feels like a Salem rite of passage. The museum is divided into two parts: The Main Show: You sit in a large, darkened room while life-sized dioramas light up around the perimeter to a narrated soundtrack. It tells the story of the 1692 trials with a lot of drama. It's definitely "campy" and a bit dated, but it's a solid, digestible overview of the history. The Guided Exhibit: After the show, a staff member leads you through a second area that explains the evolving image of "the witch" through time. This part felt much more modern and actually touched on some interesting social themes like scapegoating. Duration: Plan for about 1 hour total. Booking: This is the most important tip--book your tickets online in advance! Especially in the shoulder seasons or October, they sell out hours (or days) ahead. Don't expect to just walk up to the door and get in. Price: At around $19, it's a bit pricier than the smaller museums, but it's the "big one" that most people feel they have to check off their list.

That being said, while I love the store, there is one glaring problem I've been experiencing. The basement, where I usually spend most of my time, has become unbearable! The heat always seems to be on max at all times or the ac isn't ever on and this issue has gotten to the point that I can't spend more than 5 minutes without sweating. Because of that, it loses a star on my review. I hope they can fix this issue especially with summer on its way!
