A Complete Disaster -- Avoid at All Costs Staying at this RV park was an absolute nightmare. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this place is not just "run down" -- it's completely neglected and unsafe. The issues start at the top, with the owner and management, and trickle down to the tenants. It's common knowledge among those familiar with the park that the manager and her son allegedly accept drugs as payment for rent. The signs of meth use are unmistakable and create an environment that feels dangerous and unpredictable. The condition of the park itself is appalling. During my two-night stay, I encountered one of the most alarming issues -- a trailer leaking raw sewage directly into the street. The odor was unbearable, and the source was easy to trace: a trailer located in the middle row, on the right side, about 4-5 trailers down from the office. This is not just a health hazard, but a blatant violation of safety standards. Adding to the frustration, the park falsely advertises having WiFi. In reality, there's no functional connection. I wasted hours waiting for the manager's son, who sat glued to his phone on the office bench for five hours after telling me he "may or may not" have it running before 6 PM. His indifference was beyond unprofessional -- it was downright insulting. As you walk around the park, the neglect is impossible to ignore. Trash is scattered everywhere, weeds overrun the grounds, cars are out of place, and trailers are falling apart under the weight of hoarded junk. The lack of care and complacency from those managing this place is staggering. They're lazy, argumentative, and clearly unbothered by the chaos around them. What's worse, the owner seems complicit in all of this. Allowing the management to operate like this -- turning a blind eye to drug use and unsanitary conditions -- suggests that he's either unaware of the reality or perfectly content with running his property straight into the ground. It's hard to believe that anyone who cared even remotely about their investment would let things deteriorate to this point. Frankly, I'm shocked that the city hasn't stepped in to shut this place down. It feels like it's only one sewage leak or police raid away from being condemned. I can not wait to get out of this trailer park! My husband has congestive heart failure and awaiting surgery! I would love to have him get fresh air until he can get the surgery as he can't get up and down the steps of the trailer. HOWEVER, Between the LOUD generator running across the driveway and the neighbors smoking pot, and the smell drifting our way, I can't have my door open to enjoy the "fresh air"! read more

I lived in this park for years what a dump. The power don't work the other day someone died cause the power started a fire and she burned to death. I hope the woman that is trying to get this landlord on the radar for not following code wins. Call me I will testify for ya. My wife was assaulted by the staff. Yeah, this place is not the kinda place you wanna stop and stay at on vacation. Lots of people who have clearly been living there for a long time. The staff doesn't seem to care about the appearance of the park. There is an bunch of abandoned motorhomes and trailers on one end of the park. It's only useful for its dump station. read more

You totally get what you pay for, so in respect for that it was not too bad. The hwy is right next to it so in the evening it can get loud. It's right behind a home Depot and other stores so if you forget anything you can run and pick something up. The camp sites are a little crammed together, not a good place to come when it's crowded (like holidays) the tent sites are not well kept the grass is long ( so there are tons of little bugs). They have showers, they aren't the cleanest but it's free and the water is warm. It's a good place to stop for a night, don't come here expecting nice views and to connect with nature. read more

Ok as you approach the location, you pass by Home Depot and Kelly's appliance and furniture. Then you step across the line and are drawn into a 4th world country on the left and third world on the right. Staff is nice enough and perfect to dump your holding tank but really surprised no one is keeping the place clean by the permanent sites. On the right looks more like a stop and go and would not leave stuff sitting out for the night. Think I saw a couple of Rambo wanna bees as well. One thing for sure, you can see what your travel trailer will look like in 20 years if you do nothing to keep it up. read more

Not a family or relaxing place. If you're looking to just stop over night, then this will do. We stopped here after ha I g an emergency and needed a quick place to sleep with our 3 kids. The majority of the campground are permanent residence. The over nighters are put near the back of the campground near the freeway. The weeds are all over grown and waist high. The grass that is cut between spaces is dead and full of weeds. It's very quiet. The playground is old and all metal so it was too hot for the kids to play on. We didn't stay long, just one night and were quick to leave in the morning. read more

This used to be my favorite place to stop in Salem. However, it's very different than the last time I was there. The first problem is that they close the restrooms from 10:30 to 11:30, right when we were trying to pack and go, right before their check-out time when people are trying to get ready. This makes no sense. I got to the shower at 10:25 and an employee wouldn't let me in because they "close" in 5 minutes. Next, it just wasn't as clean and maintained as usual. Previously, the full-timers who live there were on the South end of the campground. Now it looks like they've taken over the entire campground. Definitely not accommodating for the traveler passing through or just spending a couple of days like it used to be. read more

This place is disgusting. Bottom line. From the homemade crack pipe in the men's bathroom to the homeless girls sleeping on the bench in the women's bathroom, this is definitely a place we will NEVER return to, and will discourage anyone else from visiting. We stayed here as a last resort because every other rv park was full in Salem. The showers definitely do NOT meet basic health code requirements, there was standing water in the toilet stalls, we had sketchy people scoping out our trailer all night and in the morning. The only reason I was at this RV Park was to help a friend set up that I could not talk out of going here. Avoid this overpriced crap hole. You'd be better off in the Walmart parking lot on the other side of the interstate if you're just passing thru. I have seen many dumpy RV parks in my yrs, but this one gets the worst of the worst award. My friend is paying $275 for a week. I wouldn't have paid $10 for a month. read more

The worst place you could pick to stay. It is complete with a noisy highway, dead grass, we photocopy your id policy, gounds keepers that do nothing but smoke, trash piled up in trucks and left sitting, toilets that don't flush, and a frightful crowd of toughs that walk around at all hours. We were tent camping and thought that it would have been better to sleep in the car at the home depot parking lot that was just around the corner of the KOA. read more

We checked in at 1am on our road trip trough Oregon. The site we were directed to smelled like dog poop and desperately needed to be mowed. We were too tired to find another place to stay, and after a quick inspection to ensure we weren't pitching our tent in any fun " surprises", we set up camp for the night. Worst night sleep ever. We were right next to the freeway off ramp and there was a contact barrage of big rig J brakes and people who thought they drove in the indy 500 running down the freeway. In the morning I had the skeeziest shower ever. I regret not checking yelp before my stay. read more

Salem RV used to be owned by KOA. They now or own privately and they have degraded their service immensely in the past year. Grass is grown up all over between the spaces and the place is filthy and their cable TV doesn't work correctly. Would not consider staying here again read more

stayed here a month and hated every minute of it! VERY dirty place, staff was rude and unhelpful the whole stay. every part of this park is dirty from the game room laundry room to the bathrooms. they dont even keep up on the yard work either, the grass is taller than my dogs! also there are so many stray cats that the males sprayed almost every part of my rv and truck! i would not recommend anyone to stay here unless you want to be ripped off! note i wouldnt even give this place one star unfortunately you have to. read more

Really, really bummed I didn't check reviews before pulling into this campground with a small trailer for the night. This was probably a nice place, in 1985. It's very close to I5, meaning we heard traffic and helicopters overhead all night. The back bathrooms are closed, the ones by the office are the only ones open. Of the three women's stalls, only one had paper (one had the paper holder ripped off the wall, one had feces on the toilet seat). No soap at the sinks. The laundry room has a wet-vac sitting in the middle of the floor to mop up when the washing machine tub leaks all over if you wanted to do laundry. Free Wifi is advertised, but when one asks for the code, he will be told the Wifi is "broken" but that the Home Depot that is close to the campground has unsecured wifi that can be used from the bench in front of the office. The trash must only get picked up every 2 weeks, as the dumpster is overflowing. As far as I could tell, we were the only ones staying for a night, most rentals are long-term very dilapidated RVs. I was thankful when we pulled out in the morning. read more

My boyfriend, friend and I just moved to salem, or. We needed a place to stay for a couple weeks until we could afford to get a place of our own. We decided to stay here because it was pretty convenient since we do not have am rv, and they allow camping. Salem campground and RV's is also in a very good location. Very close to lancaster, which seems to have just about everything you could need. Another thing i really liked was that they had a general store with very good prices, but they did not keep everything stocked very well. With all of that said, there are a few things I disliked very much. For one, they only had soap in the women's bathroom for the first two days we were staying there. And since we were in a campsite, we got dirty very quick. Even when I brought it up the only thing they had to say was that the soap was being ordered (I brought it up after about a week) I feel as if that was completely unacceptable. If you are running a buisness these are things you need to stay on top of. Especially thinking that the employees themselves probably weren't washing their hands with soap. That's how people get sick. Another thing I disliked was the customer service. At least from one specific person. Every day at 11:30-12:30 they cleaned the women's restroom. I ran over there after I woke up and had to use the restroom very bad. I asked the guy that was cleaning if I could use the bathroom really quick and he said no, so I made a decision to quickly as possible use the men's restroom. I was in and out in under a minute. As I walked out, I was approached by a man that was VERY rude. He asked me what campsite I was at (I couldn't remember) and I told him so, confused as to why he stopped me. I didn't even know who he was. He screamed and screamed at me until I cried. He yelled "WE DON'T PLAY THAT GAME HERE" and threatened to kick us out because I used the men's bathroom. With tears in my eyes I explained to the man that I just moved here from california, and didn't realise that it was illegal. I told him that if I didn't I would have peed my pants on the walk back to the campsite and that I am susceptible to bladder infections if I don't go immediately. He screamed and screamed about how it was wrong and I fucked up. I apologized and he still continued to yell. Finally I walked away and went to go tell the lady in the office. She was very nice and immediately aplogized for the way he treated me and I made sure that he would get the message that that was very rude and there was no reason to yell that much until I cried. The ladies in the office were all very nice though, that I can say. I feel like this place could be very nice if they improve a few things. Overall I would give salem campground and RV's a 2 star rating. read more

The Campground is on the old side but not kept up, yards not mowed most residents look permanent and look like they have been for a very long time. Spaces are the the smallest I have seen My Awning extended over the slide out on motor home next to us. The bathrooms were ok but there was a padlock on the soap dispenser need I say more. will not stay here again. read more
