Located at the stockyard, so the beef is fresh! very good bacon cheeseburger and fries! Service was friendly and fast! If you're in the area before 2:00 try it out. I bet they have a great breakfast! read more

Coming from Washington, D.C., I'm very glad I stopped by Sale Barn Cafe! This place is a gem! Hearty homemade food, friendly people, and the Mid-west feel, I love this place! I'll definitely stop by again when I go through Iowa. Highly recommended! read more

Very Hometown feel. The food was very well good we had just had breakfast, eggs and such but hashbrowns were cooked well browned and the coffee was great. A gentleman that was there realized we were therefore a funeral and paid for our breakfast. Just the kind of little café you would expect to find in a small town. read more

Baked goods are homemade, service is friendly but not invasive, delicious down-home food. It's like going to Grandmas and being comforted by familiar favorites. I go every time I am in town :) read more

Meh. Long wait time. Ok food. Nothing to rave about. Chicken strips -the usual. Chicken fried steak-average. Wouldn't go again.

We always drive down to Lamoni when we're in Iowa to get the best burger and fries around at the Sale Barn Cafe. Great, friendly service too. read more

Sale Barn Cafe - a breakfast of eggs, bacon, pancakes, and hash browns - Cafes Near Me - Lamoni, Iowa

You want a wholesome country atmosphere and home cooked meals, this is the place to go!

We were passing thru looked up on yelp and decided to give it a try. We made a great choice! Loved it! Great homemade food. I had the Roast Beef sandwich it was on home made bread so good! Watermelon in the spring, also very good. Will definitely stop here again. read more

I love eating at the Sale Barn. I especially like their breakfast food. The Denver omelet with hash browns and home made whole wheat toast. Larry Waugh is the owner and is a great baker. He even grinds his own flour - talk about fresh. He makes home made donuts "as big as your face," my niece reminds me, and the jumbo cinnamon rolls can serve four with coffee. My favorite are the donut holes! If you order ahead he will make your order out of whole wheat flour if you want. They serve breakfast until 10:00am, I think, but the donuts and cinnamon rolls are the top choice of the retired farming couples who are the morning regulars, and they are sold out by 8:30am. So, if you want donuts at 9:00am call ahead and reserve the number you'll need. When it's time for my daughter to bring treats to school for her birthday we often bring Sale Barn Donuts. Place large orders the day before. I also love their roast beef plate with real mashed potatoes and green beans, and two home-made rolls. read more

Well obviously the other review is worthless if you really want to know about the food and not that loser's life story. First off, let me say every time I'm in the area I HAVE to have a burger from the sale barn. I don't know why. They are super greasy, super good. It's obviously very fresh- I'm not saying they go out back and knock a cow out for every order- but this is the real deal- and I intensely dislike small town cafes etc for the most part. Yes it smells outside. It's a SALE BARN. But the restaurant is cleaner than many in larger towns. These are local people and if they sold horrible food they wouldn't last long. Word gets around quick. Anyway- stop in and have a burger. They are addicting. The fries are mediocre. The servings are large and I don't usually see much left over on people's plates. The rest of food I can't vouch for because I have to have a burger and no room for anything else when I'm here. read more

the sale barn is well, attached to a livestock sale barn. if a person can't tolerate the smell of nature, this might not be their place. However, they would be missing some great food. the daily special is a little pricy, but there is enough food in one serving food two people. The chicken is great, as are the homemade rolls. And definitely need to get pie. service is friendly, even when they are busy. read more

On our way back from the Ozarks we stopped in Lamoni to eat at the sale barn café. Two high school friends and I enjoyed every single bit of it. Delicious food, great menu, great service! We will stop there every time we passed through this area. The people that work there as well as the customers were very friendly. This was almost like a throwback to old times. I can't say enough good things about it! read more

Great home -cooked food. REALLY gravy and mashed potatoes! My husband's pie was good but I only got 2 bites.

I would love to be able to give these guys a great review but I can't........ because they weren't open we drove over here all excited to try them based off the reviews and was so disappointed when we saw their hours are Mon-Fri 7:30 am- 1:00pm. read more

Since the Sale Barn Café doesn't serve alcohol, I find the previous review a bit outlandish, to say the least. About the actual food, it is simple meat and potatoes sort of variety. The food is good and there are generous portions to be had. If you like good old fashioned country cooking, this is a good place to go. read more
