The Good: The stop for an ice cream shake that turned into some extra pepper jack bites on the side :) my strawberry/Oreo shake was absolutely delicious and the pepper jack bites with ranch dressing were just right also. My chose the same cheese balls and had her shake flavored with caramel and Butterfinger, which seemed to have been a total winner for her (not a fan of peanut anything at all myself). The Bad: It is 2 hours from home and likely doesn't get a ton of traffic with the main highway being 5 or so miles north of town. The Ugly Truth: This is a great ice cream and lunch stop for good ole home cooking. The kids working in there seem to really like their job and ate happy to make you a great meal or dessert. Our food as mentioned above was not only worth the detour but definitely a stop worth making when within an hour from Lenox, IA. It is so important to support local businesses, we drove by several chain ice cream places to make sure we help local business owners keep their doors open and grow. So, please do you part next time you have the craving for something and find a local shop!! We will be back for more :)

One thing I have noticed on each visit is that the table does not "belong" to one employee. Every one steps in to make your experience wonderful. The salsa is thin but with nice chunks of tomato. The chips crisp. They also have some fun variations of margaritas. I enjoyed a watermelon one. What made this visit special though was my dish. I tried the Camarones A La Crema. Oh my goodness! This dish is amazing. I literally could not stop eating but still had leftovers. Creamy, cheesy with a slight bite from the Parmesan cheese. The shrimp perfect. I built tacos with the shrimp, rice and beans then added a dab of the guacamole I had ordered. Amazing. Please try it. You will be back for more. It's the next day and after eating my leftovers for dinner, I'm checking to see when they open today.
