I actually felt "sad" after reading such negative reviews. I only had the best experience using…read moreMangano to install a vessel sink, (a tricky job w/this sink & vanity) and a new toilet, both of which we purchased and the items were on site. My husband & I received very prompt service. Our mechanic, Jeff, was personable and cleaned up as he progressed with the job. After pulling out the old toilet, we opened the shipping box for the new toilet, only to find it cracked. Jeff was sympathetic and only charged us for the sink installation, saying, he would be back when the replacement toilet arrived. I was very nervous about how much extra we were going to pay because of the necessary second visit. In total we were charged $545.00 plus taxes. All installations were checked for leaks and proper functioning. All work done was clearly printed on both work orders which I was asked to sign upon approval. This is the third plumbing contractor we have used since we moved into our home three years again. We would definitely use them again, and, we would ask for Jeff.

Had the worst experience ever with Mangano Plumbing. I suggest never using this company. We called…read morefor a toilet replacement. Julian shows up. 5 mins later, says toilet is broken in box. (Based on future events, I believe he broke it) He says, I can return it for $120. Okay. He comes back says, it's $425 (Cost of toilet, $212). I say, what? He says yeah, I purchased a warranty on the toilet. $95. (Went to Lowes later and found out, there is no warranty). He replaces toilet, leaves. I take a closer look at the toilet, the toilet isn't secured to the floor, can't use it. Call Mangano. Oh, we're sorry. We'll send someone. Julian again. Goes in, does some work, says I'm done. Okay. He only secures left side of toilet. Right side, unsecured. Call back, I said send someone else and I want the manager to come here. Julian shows up again. Takes the toilet out. John Mangano shows up, apologizes for Julians incompetence. Next thing I know, after they were in the bathroom alone together, your flange is broke. That will be $600. Huh? (Flange was replaced a few short years ago) I have them fix it. (Have no choice, but they broke it) Julian is done, he comes and says, the valve in the back of the toilet is leaking it needs replacing, want me to fix it? (Hell no!) Received no receipt for toilet, no copies of contracts signed, NOTHING! NEVER USE MANGANO PLUMBING!!

For many years, I wanted to switch from a wood-burning fireplace to gas…read more I started with The Fireplace Factory in Bellmore. I worked with Tom who showed me my choices and explained the differences. I chose what I wanted and gave a deposit. Then came the hard part. Making the switch to gas. I asked for a plumber and they recommended Clearway Plumbing and Heating. The best choice! Jimmy, the owner, came by to give me a price, and I made an appointment. Paul and Joe showed up when they said they would, and spent almost 5 hours making the change. They were outside by the chimney. They were down in the crawlspace. They were out on the front lawn, tapping into the gas line. They were drilling through the concrete in the fireplace. I can't ever remember having workmen work as hard as they. Without complaining. Chris from the Fireplace Factory came by today and finished the job. I aged out of cleaning ashes and bringing up wood and Duraflame logs. This was the right choice for me and I couldn't be happier! I have a remote control and click on and click off. Thank you, Fireplace Factory. And special thanks to Jimmy, Paul, and Joe!

I had a really disappointing experience with Clearway Plumbing and Heating and felt completely…read moretaken advantage of. I reached out to Jim about replacing a cracked 5-year-old resin tub and sent multiple photos, details, and even confirmed with the manufacturer that the drain didn't need replacing. I was quoted $1,500 unless something unexpected came up. When Jim and his assistant arrived, they immediately said they couldn't lift the tub due to back issues and it's too heavy. I ended up calling my landscaper, who brought guys over to handle all the heavy lifting--removing the old tub and bringing in the new one. While waiting (for two hours), they sat in my driveway on the phone, smoking and asking me questions about the original installation that any professional should know or assess themselves. It felt very unprofessional. Once the tub was in place (thanks to the guys I hired), Jim essentially just connected the drain with a twist and had his assistant apply silicone--then charged me the full $1,500. I also had to prep the area myself and even clean the tub at the end because he didn't want to "mess it up." They also admitted they'd never worked with this type of tub before, which is something I absolutely should have been told upfront. In the end, I paid full price to Clearway, plus the additional cost for the people who actually did most of the work. I felt uncomfortable, pressured, and honestly ripped off. I would not recommend them.
