Came here for an event on the fifth "May the Sith be with…read moreyou" We had a lot of fun and were thankful that the Library did this. There were a lot of kids out and they had a blast interacting with those who came in Star Wars cosplay. The vibe was safe and fun, and the children learned to wield lightsabers (along with learning a little discipline too!). There were food and snacks, and other cool activities. This was a great experience. The Library staff was polite and very helpful and the facilities were clean and organized. Thank you for hosting this event!

I've found that they have a small Non-Fiction section, not much on American History, about one book on Wine, and nothing on Law. But by the looks of things they're really catering to the local community, I'm just used to extensive departments since I'm a book worm. They have several computers and each time I've gone I haven't had to wait. They have one printer that charges 10 cents a page (exact change only). You cannot renew material online which limits you to calling during business hours or going in person to the front desk. You can also only renew once. Another downside is that there is no drop box outside the library, not even in the lobby of the building.

I constantly feel we run in circles to make them do their job or fix their mistakes. I spend so much time on business matters because of their mistakes. Another review mentioned they are condescending and rude, which is true. They repeatedly burden their mistakes on the students, and I have to get involved. The only good experience has been with teachers and the registrar's office. However, the registrar's office needs to get up to date with the times and allow students to drop classes online. Business Services, Financial Aid and Advising offices are the biggest hassles. Their billing could be more clear as well. I am college-educated from a private university, and I have a kid at a top-ranking school, and this is not even close to how a university should be run.

The tuition is very affordable and students get a quality education, a career development center, and a nice library. The university is growing and is a good choice for students who want to be part of a new school and be rewarded with a low tuition. The school also offers a bachelors bonus which allows students to pay a max of 12 credit hours per semester if they are taking more than 12 credit hours.

I absolutely love this library (Lyndon B. Johnson). It's an important museum that houses millions of photos, videos, documents, etc. with regard to the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam War, LBJ's presidency, and so on. There are exhibits displaying information on Medicare and its beginnings. The Oval Office replica is pretty cool to see. So many things to check out including, you guessed it, a gift shop! This is a "not to be missed" museum.

When we arrived and paid our admission fee, we immediately were met with 2 hosts that kind of went over and explained everything you would be seeing. The funniest part is when an elderly white lady tried to explain to me their new traveling exhibit. It was a hip hop exhibit and she was explaining how interesting it was. She was like 70 and I am sure she is bumping Biggie and 2 Pac on her way to work. The 1st floor was just the presidential Limo, some campaign exhibits, a gift shop and the hip hop exhibit. When I think about LBJ, I am pretty sure Hip Hop is far from the top of the list of things associated with him. However, as a kid from the hip hop generation it was cool to see Run DMC's Adidas, Slick Rick's Kangol and other artists out fits. The 10th floor (I think it was the 10th) had a replica Oval Office, lots of gifts given to LBJ during his presidency and other exhibits as well. I enjoy going to the different Presidential Libraries and Museums and this one is pretty nice but nothing that will wow you.

I really like this place. I'm a bibliophile, myself. I have way too many books to read in my…read morelifetime; I suppose part of my book obsession isn't only about reading the of books, and extends to the finding and curating of a book collection, as no working dad has the time for reading the entire library that I'm building. Idk. Maybe I'm just preparing myself for a retirement spent in the books--either way, I have a habit of buying too many. Thus, it's rare that I leave a bookstore without a few or more in hand. In this case, I only purchased one upon my first visit to Fletcher's, and I believe the reason I purchased so few is simply that it's so difficult to sort through the books here unless one has much time to meander and stare at every book on the shelves and tables--and, for the tables/islands of books in the middle of the room, one must have time to pick up books stack by stack to search through them, else you can't actually see what the books are; it's like losing sight of the trees for the forest. Still, upon my visit, I did find one book that I've been meaning to purchase for years, and it happened to be in one of the stacks I picked up. I suppose there's something cathartic about picking up a stack of mystery books and searching through, hoping for a gem. It's a bit like gambling. Although, I simply did not have time in this visit to linger longer and meander through all the mystery piles. It is for the reason of accessibility--though the search may be fun--that I do deduct one star from my review. Were it easier to find books on the tables, I suppose I would leave a 5-Star review. And, on the surface, they really seem a 5-star independent bookshop. They have so much packed into such a quaint and whimsical location; I really loved the ambiance. The antiques were a nice addition--I'm now convinced that all book shops should double as antique shops with stained glass windows and panels such as this. It's gorgeous. And, yet, again, I still wish it were easier to search through these mountains of books on the tables. So, will I go back? ABAOLUTELY! and you should, too--but plan to need longer than expected to find books of interest. They're there--you just have to search through their tables thoroughly.

Amazing...simply awesome! Been wanting to visit for quite some time and only now was able to do…read moreso. After walking around for about half an hour, I was informed about a tour starting at 10 a.m. Of course I couldn't pass that up. Rachel, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Her passion for the library and the Brownings showed through the information she gave. Lots of positive energy! In addition to the collection and ambiance/architecture of the library, the grounds are worth checking out. I will have to come visit again in order to really soak in all that the place has to offer. Please don't wait as long as I have to visit.

It's not Shakespeare; it's Elizabeth Barrett Browning. This library/museum includes a wide array of artwork, personal effects, and manuscripts by Robert Browning and his wife Elizabeth. If you're a scholar of Victorian poetry, researching here would be a dream come true. Even if you're not a fan of Victorian poetry, the Armstrong Browning Library is worth a visit. The beautiful building, which frequently hosts weddings and special events, contains the largest collection of secular stained glass in the world. You might also enjoy the unique and fascinating architectural details throughout the interior of the building. If pottery or porcelain is your thing, check out the Wedgwood and pottery collections, too. Upstairs, the curators have recreated the Browning's home, complete with their authentic furniture and decor. If you ever wondered about life in the mid-1800s, this could give you a pretty accurate picture of it. Admission is free, so check this place out next time you're in the heart of Texas!
