Like many of the patrons, we had originally decided to go to Haveli down the street but the wait was too long and we were too hungry so we decided to come to Salaam Bombay.
The décor and atmosphere was really nice and I liked the feel of the place. There was also zero wait time. It was a little cramped but not too bad.
The food was pretty good (especially after not having eaten Indian for the past week) and the menu was exactly what we expected. There were typical North Indian dishes and we found everything we wanted easily.
The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because of the service. The waiter did not smile a single time while we were there, he spoke in a hushed mumble, and was not really friendly at all. He messed up our order but the service was too slow for us to ask for him to fix it so we just dealt with it. He did apologize at the end for the slow service and said they were severely understaffed that day.
If you're looking for pretty basic Indian food, this place isn't bad at all! It's definitely better than waiting over an hour to try and get a table somewhere else. read more
