Hung out here before a flight back to NYC and overall enjoyed it. It's a Priority Pass lounge but as I was flying Delta One, I was able to get in that way so I didn't have to burn a PP lounge visit. The lounge was not too crowded when I was there and we were able to get a seat near a window which had great views of various aircraft. There were plenty of things to eat and drink, although I could not find any aqua con gas...only still water. The coffee I had was good as were some of the breads, meats and cheeses. Staff was friendly and the restrooms were clean. We were there about 90 minutes and although it's not at the level of the Virgin lounge at Heathrow, we had a lovely time. read more

It wasn't very clouded and I was able to choose my seat. The reason it was not a 5/5 for me is the lack of food choices. This lounge is the worst lounge I've ever visited. We were there on October 12 2025 There was a long line just to enter and once inside it got worse. Piles of dirty dishes and trash on just about ever table. Very overcrowded and the lack of food and the quality I rate as poor. I'm glad I didn't pay for this separately as it was included with my ticket. Madrid you can do better. Also known as Aena VIP Lounge, this is located upstairs from the B gates in T1 and for non-EU flights only. One of the most aesthetic lounges I've visited due to the bright natural and intentional lighting. Used Priority Pass and brought 1 guest free. The lounge is massive, but also usually quite full. Standard seating options at single-seater couches, tables, or bar-tables. There looks to be quite the stock of food, but on closer inspection it's mostly the same cold food repeated so you can walk 20 ft less depending on where you're seated. I did appreciate the packaged sandwiches, tabbouleh, yogurt, and handheld fruit which are nice to take on the go if your turnaround is quick. Huge drink selection ranging from juices, glass Coca-Cola bottles, beer, and wine. Ah, and a fresh orange juice dispenser too. One of my favorite parts was not one, but TWO coffee/espresso machines so the wait isn't quite so long. Housekeepers work hard to keep the area clean but since it's quite large you'll likely just have to push someone else's dirty dishes to the side if you find a free spot. Bathrooms were well maintained with separate sets of stalls for men and women. read more

Terrible rules & service. We were on a business class flight connection through MAD and they would not let us in until 4 hours before our 2nd flight due to their "rules". The lounge was almost empty. This is absolutely ridiculous! I have had connections of over 4 hours in LHR, HKG, JFK, LAX, PVG, SIN, FRA, YVR and have always been allowed into the lounge for more than 4 hours while waiting for my connection. The hour limit is to discourage people coming to the airport too early just to use the lounge, and never applied to connections. This just shows that the MAD airport and lounge is not friendly nor considerate towards international travelers. read more

Definitely one of the better lounges I've been to. Easy check in process, no code for the WiFi, and abundant selection of food/drinks. When you walk in you'll see three stations two with basically the same setup with cold appetizers consisting of ham, turkey, and cheese with various bread options. Followed by a variety of pastries. Yogurts and sandwiches. They got a bunch of sandwiches. When I came they had crab, veggie, tuna, and cheese. I got say the selection of drinks is amazing. Everything a drinker and non drinker would love. A bunch of juices pineapple, peach, etc and soft drinks to satisfy any sugar caffeine cravings. Then they got the alcohol selection. Amazing! Wide selection of beers imports/domestic and wines! To top it off there's a desert area. I'm coming back here! If you see me say hi. I'll add a star when I come back for breakfast or dinner. This lounge was extremely clean, modern looking, and large. The furniture seemed new and the windows opened up the space. I stopped before a morning flight. Breakfast items were limited to packaged sandwiches, fruit, toast with spreads, and some pastry items. I would recommend the donuts! Everything else was just okay. There went plenty of sugary beverages, alcohol, and a coffee machine. Water was only in glass bottles with no twist cap (not good for a flights), which was a disappointment. Returning through the Madrid airport, the Sala Cibeles is the lounge for international travelers and serves Sky Team fliers. For me, that would be for my trip, returning through Madrid to New York on Delta. I'm downgrading my review today because the gatekeeper in the lounge does not understand her access rules. It is completely clear from the Sky Team website that any Elite Plus passenger on any international ticket can access the lounge. Yes, sweetie with the bright red hair. You're wrong. You told me to contact my carrier. I did. They said that I should have been granted access and sent me a bunch of Sky Miles for my trouble. I hope that you get a little retraining. This is not how elite passengers in the Sky Team alliance should be treated. Good luck getting into this lounge, even if their website says that you should have access. read more

I've been to this place twice. It's awesome compared to any US lounges. Very spacious and pretty empty both times I visited. Great plane-watching. Larger wine section that I've ever seen in the the US including a selection of sparkling wines, all self-serve. There is plenty of yogurt, cold snacks, premade sandwiches which were individually wrapped. When I visited right before 4pm on a Sunday there were individual servings of hot food but they were quickly replaced by cold cuts etc, so I guess 4 pm is when it switches. The hot food was pretty good. I wish there was a station to refill your own water bottle. I instead opened 2 of the glass bottles and poured them into my plastic one to take on the plane- and that felt wasteful. Overall, I recommend this lounge. I entered with Priority Pass. read more

This lounge is beautiful - well kept for the most part and has lots of food and drink options for various diets and tastes. The staff were constantly replenishing the food and tidying up - this is not something I see often in lounges but definitely appreciate. They had sandwiches with meats, cheeses and even a seafood salad sandwich. I saw another case had kosher options too. There is a pasta salad with tuna that I thought was delicious - I ended up eating two! The Wi-Fi is easy to connect to and helps you get settled in to watch a movie or check out your plans for your next stop. The furniture is pretty clean and comfortable which coupled with the sweeping views of the runways on two sides, you can be entertained for quite some time. This next piece is about the mainland Chinese passengers who made the lounge very painful to relax in / hear yourself think. I imagine this is a common occurrence here as I saw a few throngs of them piling in.. there must have been a tour group full of them - old, in their 30s-40s and some with small children where they are not aware of social cues and how to conduct themselves in different cultures (aka ANY outside of China). They were impossibly loud, obnoxious, let their children squeal, scream and did things to encourage more loudness of each other. Other guests were also highly irritated - several times, people could not take it and SHHH'ed them (to no avail of course). I really struggled with walking up to them myself and telling them off in Chinese myself. I did however have to move to the complete other side of the lounge (which is frankly very large) and it did not help all that much. Sound travels quite long distances here. Like why do you have to watch your videos on speaker? Do you not have headphones?! I cringe at how these mainlanders are giving terrible impressions of OUR culture to places they visit. I digress. But I also do think that the lounge should make it very clear and put signs up in Chinese when checking in / around the facility on guest "rules / appropriate conduct." End rant. :) read more

We used this modern lounge in the Madrid airport a couple of times. Our access was through the priority pass that we get on the Amex platinum. The lounge is located in terminal 1 after passport control on the 2nd level. The front desk processes your entry quickly so you can enjoy the lounge before your flight. The lounge has modern furnishings and an excellent view with large windows which is pretty standard at most European airport lounges. The food was pretty decent and the service is very good as employees are always available to help the passengers. Showers are available for passengers to freshen up and the bathrooms were super duper clean which is very important. 4 star lounge at a busy airport. Enjoy if you have access. read more

Lounge is ok. Better than united airlines' standard joined (not including Polaris lounges), but not as good as many international star alliance lounges that I've been to. If boarding terminal 1, it is conveniently located right after immigration. There is a sign with the name of the lounge, directing you to go upstairs; very easy to locate and get to. Pretty large space with different types of seating options. Windows form the majority of the walls, which offers nice views of the sunrise. This is also nice if you're stuck in the lounge for a while; it's the closest you can get to actually being outside. Food and beverage options are standard. For breakfast, there is a variety of breads, pastries, meat, cheese, fruit, cereals, cookies, pre- made sandwiches, and pre-packaged fruit. For beverages, there is liquor, beer, wine, and bottled non- alcoholic drinks. With so many people going through the lounge each day it would be nice to see less one use packaging(please!!!). The bathrooms are large and clean. Although there were showers available, I didn't try them out to be able to speak to them. read more

Others may not like the prepackaged food, but I'm all for little sandwiches with the crusts cut off with options like ham and cheese, tuna and tomato, crab, vegetarian/egg. Yummy juices (peach, tomato, apple, orange) and pastries too. Alcohol was self serve and included some wine and a couple of harder options. The lounge is located on the 2nd floor after passport check (elevator is right across from the Global Blue desk). It's definitely worth arriving a bit early to snack on a few things before takeoff. read more
