Hung out here before a flight back to NYC and overall enjoyed it. It's a Priority Pass lounge but as I was flying Delta One, I was able to get in that way so I didn't have to burn a PP lounge visit. The lounge was not too crowded when I was there and we were able to get a seat near a window which had great views of various aircraft. There were plenty of things to eat and drink, although I could not find any aqua con gas...only still water. The coffee I had was good as were some of the breads, meats and cheeses. Staff was friendly and the restrooms were clean. We were there about 90 minutes and although it's not at the level of the Virgin lounge at Heathrow, we had a lovely time.

The lounge has very beautiful and spacious interior design. All the amenity looked new and well maintained. The wide view on the runway was awesome. It wasn't very clouded and I was able to choose my seat. The reason it was not a 5/5 for me is the lack of food choices. The food choice at this lounge is very limited and the taste of what was available was mediocre to me. Overall, I had a nice rest and some snack.

Stopped by around 9 am before flying out. Located by gate b26 this is a priority pass lounge. The lounge itself is airy and light and features a terrace. There is a sleep room, and breastfeeding room. There were plenty of seating options. The food was limited to fruits, pastries, and sandwiches and self serve beverages.

3.5 stars. Better than a lot of airport lounges in the US. This might be the only lounge in terminal 1 of the Madrid airport. The spacious space of the lounge and its cleanness is among the best I've been to. The food, drinks and service are not as good as some of the other lounges in other terminals of Madrid in my experience.

Definitely one of the better lounges I've been to. Easy check in process, no code for the WiFi, and abundant selection of food/drinks. When you walk in you'll see three stations two with basically the same setup with cold appetizers consisting of ham, turkey, and cheese with various bread options. Followed by a variety of pastries. Yogurts and sandwiches. They got a bunch of sandwiches. When I came they had crab, veggie, tuna, and cheese. I got say the selection of drinks is amazing. Everything a drinker and non drinker would love. A bunch of juices pineapple, peach, etc and soft drinks to satisfy any sugar caffeine cravings. Then they got the alcohol selection. Amazing! Wide selection of beers imports/domestic and wines! To top it off there's a desert area. I'm coming back here! If you see me say hi. I'll add a star when I come back for breakfast or dinner. But 5 stars for midday service!

This lounge was extremely clean, modern looking, and large. The furniture seemed new and the windows opened up the space. I stopped before a morning flight. Breakfast items were limited to packaged sandwiches, fruit, toast with spreads, and some pastry items. I would recommend the donuts! Everything else was just okay. There went plenty of sugary beverages, alcohol, and a coffee machine. Water was only in glass bottles with no twist cap (not good for a flights), which was a disappointment. This was a good lounge to kill time but not my favorite for any, "extras".

Returning through the Madrid airport, the Sala Cibeles is the lounge for international travelers and serves Sky Team fliers. For me, that would be for my trip, returning through Madrid to New York on Delta. I'm downgrading my review today because the gatekeeper in the lounge does not understand her access rules. It is completely clear from the Sky Team website that any Elite Plus passenger on any international ticket can access the lounge. Yes, sweetie with the bright red hair. You're wrong. You told me to contact my carrier. I did. They said that I should have been granted access and sent me a bunch of Sky Miles for my trouble. I hope that you get a little retraining. This is not how elite passengers in the Sky Team alliance should be treated. Good luck getting into this lounge, even if their website says that you should have access.

This lounge is average at best. The reception staff are consistently unfriendly which does not make you feel very welcome. The lounge is quite large which is nice. The food offerings are rather limited to pre-packaged items. The coffee machine breaks and the seats are worn and torn.

The view The open space This is probably the best Sala Cibeles lounge I have been to. Love the different seating option. I could fall asleep on one of those loungers that have the view of the runway! Great selection of drinks and baked good, snacks and pre packaged food. Those fruit cups were so good, perfect as a light breakfast. Sadly no hot table was set up but if you are not in a rush, you can ask the staff for hot food options. Chill out before flight as the departure gate area could be such a zoo..

Spacious. Long windows. Lots of natural light. Live plants... I'm already a happy camper. Top it off with "free" drinks, snacks, pastries, fruit, AND clean bathrooms... I'm ecstatic. Especially after rushing to the airport on a sweaty jam packed metro after getting lost a few times. Was here for breakfast so I didn't see any soup. Brb let me check. Yeah no soup. But the pastries were great! Definitely taking a sandwich to go for my flight.

We had a 6am flight out of Madrid to our connecting flight to Frankfurt prior to getting back to the States. It wasn't the easiest to find at the airport, we had to ask for help. Pros: fairly large with plenty of seating, great drinks selection, clean Semi-con: no hot food options for breakfast - only cold cuts, bread, pastries, fruit, yogurt, packaged cold sandwiches. This is typical Spain breakfast food so it is normal but I'm always sad when there isn't any hot foods available.

Cons: We came in around 11am-ish and they had pastries out and cold cuts so they were still in breakfast. I was expecting to see eggs or something but they had no hot food options. I asked one of the staff when they would have hot food and she gave me the most stank look!! and grunted at me, HUHH?? w/the facial expression to match. She was so rude. I asked the question again in Spanish this time, and she rudely snapped at me and said (in Spanish) no hot food until 2PM! and stormed off. I later realized that I misunderstood her or maybe she didn't even know. But anyways, as I was serving myself the cold cuts, I accidentally put the tongs back in the wrong spot. This same rude grunty woman came up next to me, grabbed the tongs and literally SLAMMED them hard onto the tray and walked away. it made such a loud awful sound! As she walked away, I did not hold back and I yelled at her in Spanish, "WOW WHAT A RUDE WOMAN!!!" and other people looked up. She just kept walking. I had another opportunity to tell her again and yeah I did tell her. Not that I was looking for her, but she just happened to be in my path. They didn't do a good job of taking away dirty dishes from the seating areas. There were stacks of cups and plates and bowls, trash, and empty beer and water bottles everywhere. It looked really sloppy like the morning after a party. At about noon, they brought out some hot food items, and more dishes to stack. Dessert items were meh but there was only 2 options, a strawberry cheesecake and another, I can't remember. it wasn't memorable I guess. Wish there'd been more dessert options and hot food options for breakfast.

The lounge setup is actually done very well with sections decidated for a specific area from a play area for children, to some clear quiet areas for work and everywhere in between. Even the buffet is setup well where it can be accessed from both sides to reduce congestion. As for the food, I was generally disappointed as the hot foods looked unappetizing and the cold foods consisted mainly of salads, notably missing a large selection of cheeses and the famed Iberian ham. That said, the candy bar with popcorn, chips, and candy makes up for the sweet tooth component. The drinks on the other hand is well stcoked from a large variety of non-alcoholic fizzy drinks for all childrens desires to a generous selection of wines and beers for adults. The lounge also has separate areas for showering and resting, which are incredibly useful for those with tiresome connections or are otherwise just tired. Accessible by flying One World Business or with OW Sapphire, this lounge offers a lot of greatness outside the food department. I was happy to see, given airport rules and the fact we were about to board a super long direct flight back to LAX, that despite it being mid-morning, all the drinks were out, by which I mean a decent number of pretty good looking Spanish wines, a decent handful of relatively mid-tier spirits, two amari, vermouth, cans of beer, as well as espresso from an auto-espresso-machine, and several juices. Everything you need to make a whole bunch of cocktails if you're that sort of nerd. (For good and bad, everything's pour-yourself. The upsides are obvious - the main downside was that they didn't have anything for measuring, you just had to pour by eye. That's fine though, I was just making them for myself :D.) Obviously being still mid-morning, I didn't have a chance to try *all* the wines (though one other benefit of being pour-yourself is that made it easy to pour a *small* amount of wine, if you did want to try a couple, which I did (pretty decent.) I was amused to note that the two amari and the vermouth were all classic Italian brands rather than Spanish, though. Also had a solid brandy Negroni and a great Giribaldi (orange juice and amaro :)). And an espresso by itself, which was just decent (decent enough for free, that's for sure.) There wasn't any line for it when we were there (again, mid-morning), either. Food-wise, at the time, there were a handful of different sandwiches, which were all fairly mediocre by themselves. They also had a diy selection of salami and cheese, with olive oil and vinegar. Put those together and you have much better sandwiches! There was plenty of space when we got there - and it was nice that it had a solid 2nd-floor view to outside that got plenty of natural light... even if it was a view of a parking lot, not the runway. If I were paying to get in, though, I dunno. Might still be worth it if we wanted to do a wine tasting while we were there... wine at an airport outside a lounge would be like 15+ bucks a glass. Maybe not mid-morning though. I already miss having a card that let me and my wife into places like that for free, and I haven't flown anywhere else yet since, lol.
