There are plenty of different types of seating arrangements available throughout the lounge so whether you are working, eating or relaxing there is a space for you. They have a nice buffet with quite a lot of hot and cold food options. There is also a snack area with popcorn, chips and other nibbles. They have a large bar area with self service wine or a bartender to help with a more complicated drink. There is a water filtration system if you would like to refill your water bottle before boarding the plane. The staff has always been so helpful and accommodating, and available to answer questions. Overall: 4 stars This consolidates my review of both the lounges at Terminal 4 (EU) and 4S (outside EU) areas since they are quite similar. The lounge setup is actually done very well with sections decidated for a specific area from a play area for children, to some clear quiet areas for work and everywhere in between. Even the buffet is setup well where it can be accessed from both sides to reduce congestion. As for the food, I was generally disappointed as the hot foods looked unappetizing and the cold foods consisted mainly of salads, notably missing a large selection of cheeses and the famed Iberian ham. That said, the candy bar with popcorn, chips, and candy makes up for the sweet tooth component. The drinks on the other hand is well stcoked from a large variety of non-alcoholic fizzy drinks for all childrens desires to a generous selection of wines and beers for adults. The lounge also has separate areas for showering and resting, which are incredibly useful for those with tiresome connections or are otherwise just tired. For our flight from Madrid to Los Angeles, we had access to the Iberia Sala Lounge. What started as a brief visit, quickly turned to a few hour wait for our flight that was delayed. First, the staff members inside the lounge were fantastic. They were super friendly and kept us posted on our flight status. Regarding the food, a good selection of hot entrees, salads, deserts, and other snacks. There were also several name brand non-alcoholic drinks and beers available. We also appreciated the fact that the staff kept all areas clean. If one's flight is delayed, the Iberia Sala VIP lounge is a great place to be stuck! read more

Spacious lounge with plenty of lounge seats, buffet food service, drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices), and direct views of the runways if you like to watch planes depart/land. Arrived on a Monday afternoon around 3pm and there was no line to enter. Lounge was about 40% full. After showing my boarding pass and lounge pass at the front desk I walked in and chose a seat close to one of the food/drink buffet stations to grab a quick lunch. There were warm and cold food options, nothing super impressive though appreciated the range of salad and a few cooked veggie and meat items. A handful of dessert items, savory snacks and fruit rounded out the food choices. Drinks ranged from wines, liquors, beer to coffee and tea, soda, juice, seltzer selections. Overall lounge was pretty clean, staff was efficient and generally friendly. The section I was in didn't have the soaring ceilings that some other lounges have at MAD though still felt open and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean and I believe there are shower facilities though I didn't peek in to check them out. Wouldn't mind stopping by this or any of the other MAD lounges again! read more

What a pleasant place to kill almost four hours as we waited for our American Airlines flight back to the US. Compared to many of the airline lounges in the US that are cramped and overcrowded this one is very nice. The selection of both breakfast and lunch foods on the buffet were very good (we were there that long!). The staff did a good job keeping everything stocked and the place nice and clean. As far as airport lounges go it's a good one. COVID kinda restricted the services like all others. It's way better than the US lounges that have rewarded their best customers with pay for decent anything. I've all but quit bothering with the clubs in Dallas and opt to pay the same at a bar/restaurant. Sad really... But back to the Madrid lounges. All are pretty decent with the Ibaria run locations being the best. Decent options for small plate food and it changes. Again, the swill offered in AA lounges should be embarrassing but the company makes money on offering dish water for drinks and premium Sewers scotch for $8. Jeez they are so bad.... Gayle and I flew Business Class as part of our recent trip to Spain. For long trips like this, we enjoyed the extra flight comfort and the opportunity to relax in 3 different airport lounges at ORD, MAD, BCN, and JFK. Yes, this is more expensive that flying coach, but we could afford it, and as Gayle often says" "Who wouldn't want to be comfortable?" That's why I sometimes refer to her as my "1st Class" Wife. We visited this MAD lounge after arriving from ORD, and prior to our onward flight to SCQ. I liked this lounge more that Gayle did. Here quibbles included lack of sparking wine, a loud toddler across the room, and a business woman (with laptop) who was conducting an easy to listen to teleconference right next to us. I loved the big open space (with great light and a view) in-and-out access to the Airport shops, a few serious buffet tables, comfortable seats, good alcohol selection, and great staff and service. We were there probably for 3 hours or so, and I enjoyed almost every minute. read more

Iberia has two lounges, one in the main terminal and one in the satellite, and I used the latter. It was clean and spacious, but I was slightly disappointed by the buffet options for breakfast. There were good views from the windows of the planes and a really cute little kids area. In other news, I didn't see any hard alcohol, so I asked one of the workers for Baileys, and she happily brought me over to the locked cabinet and brought out a variation for my coffee. For clarity, I am reviewing the Velázquez Sala VIP in Terminal 4S, not to be confused with the older (but renovated) Díaz lounge in Terminal 4. The check-in process took two seconds, and I was greeted by a friendly agent. The space is fairly expansive and has a variety of different seating areas. They divide everything into different areas like "Recharge" and "Dine" with excellent signage to help you figure out where you're going. There is a reasonably large buffet featuring (my flight was in the early afternoon) Spanish classics like tortilla española and croquetas de pollo, along with an olive bar, various breads & pastries, and other items. I think the standout is the bar, with the very friendly and attentive bartender. They had a nice selection of wine and a few champagnes, along with a bar with high-quality spirits. The bartender asked all the right questions--offered a tasting of a fun Tempranillo-Syrah blend that I enjoyed, brought ice and lemon for my agua con gas, etc. And he was genuinely friendly, unlike bartenders at some (cough) US-based mainline airline lounges in Miami or Dallas. There are charging and USB ports in various parts of the lounge, and it has a nice-looking shower area that, though I did not take advantage of it, I'm sure is a winner based on the rest of the lounge. And there are both large windows that provide a nice view outside, as well as little slats that provide shade from the intense summer heat. I really can't think of anything to complain about in the least. Iberia did a great job with this lounge, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Terminal 4S! read more

This is the flagship Iberia lounge, the best thing is the view across the apron looking at the aircraft. The worst is that the last time I visited this lounge was in 2015 and eight years later it looked exactly the same as before, usually airlines update the lounge every so often but this hadn't been. The food options were very limited as we got to the lounge about 3.45pm, the lunch service was being cleared away and the dinner service doesn't being until 8pm. Of the limited choices the items weren't really to my taste. Also the tables were being left messy and it was taking staff a long time to clear away instead of being prompt as I see in lounges like T5. read more

The Iberia lounge exceeded my expectation. Albeit it was a bit tricky to find. The entrance from my approach was behind a big pillar and ether elevators. If you're flying by sinews class on Iberia this is the perk. The service was great and friendly... particularly for those of us with limited Spanish language ability. There were three areas of seating with ample seating and a great variety of food and drink options. Plenty of plugs for recharging as well. The shower facilities were modern, well stocked and very clean. You ask to use them at the checkin desk and they assign you a room accessible with a code. Each room has a shower stall, sink and toilet. The room has good quality towels and is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste and a comb. From my perspective decent shower facilities make international travel with long layovers tolerable. read more

This is a truly remarcable lounge, in a perfect location, with impressive views on the beautiful dry landscape of Madrid's east. The architecture is spectacular, light, fun, ultra contemporary and warm (by Richard Rogers and LUV). 1. Space and furniture is classy, fresh and non-retro!!!, and welcoming of many different ways of using this lounge. This is a transcontinental hub, and showers are always available and impecable. 2. Food is outstanding. This is one of the only lounges in the world that offer better food than the restaurants in the airport. Don't miss it. 3. Service is professional and caring. Its my 3rd time at this particular VIP lounge, but id the first occasion i had to take good advantage of all the amenities it offers. I started my visit with a shower, in a lovely individual full bathroom with rainfall shower, toilet and vanity (toiletries, towels, slippers and hairdryer all provided for). I then followed with dinner (there is a wide selection of hot and cold buffet food about 20 to 25 items to choose from...and the same buffet is available on each end of the lounge as it is rather big, I would say that is very much appreciated!, theres a wine bar, 3 big coffee machines, tea selections, soft drinks,...). After dinner i decided to book a sleeping room, you can do so at the desk (you also book the shower room here), the friendly reception staff gave me a pillow and a blanket to rest. I also wanted to try the swivel chairs that are scattered throughout the lounge, my husband and i spent a couple of hours plane watching while relaxing on these chairs and charging our phones. For those that need work space these are also provided. There is free WiFi. All in all a very good and fuss fre lounge read more

They just got this lounge renovated. It was spacious and has very good view to runways. They also have a luggage locker which is very convenient. My husband Michael enjoyed the cheese omelette. He says it was soft and tasty. I liked the their extensive booze section. I had some Cava on my orange juice. They also have a nice shower. You need to give a boarding pass to the code to use one of five shower rooms. read more

It is roomy and clean it has multiple areas where you can get a drink or a snack. Located midst the duty free shopping in terminal 4, the Iberia lounge is outstanding - an oasis of sorts between the madness :) It offers plenty of seating in various sections across the large lounge, but it's not super busy. Food and beverage selection is outstanding - They have separate stations for beer and hard liquor. We reached the lounge just before 9, and the breakfast was served on time (happened to be better than our hotel breakfast). Great selection of juices and hot/cold cereals in addition to the hot/cold buffet. The hot buffet had mushrooms, Spanish tortas, scrambled eggs, roasted tomatoes, and a section of rolls, croissants, and an assortment of thick sliced bread. They also have multiple espresso machines that make cappuccinos as well. Very clean toilets equipped with high quality soap, moisturizer and alcohol free hand wipes; the lounge has a shower facility too. Plenty of monitors giving you flight info, and TVs playing the news, a relaxation room (with recliners for napping) and a luggage storage facility. I highly recommend this lounge and was very happy with it. I wish our U.S. airports grow up and make decent lounges like Europe and Asia (except American Express Centurion lounges which are comparable). read more

The Iberia lounge confirms my feeling that all European OneWorld lounges are better than American-based Oneworld lounges. They have a hot buffet, movenpick ice cream (must eat!) and lots of variety in the drinks department. The only reason i'm giving this 4 stars and not 5 stars is because they dont provide free wifi - how could they not?!?! This is the Business Class lounge! They do provide ethernet cables at certain work stations but for those of us who have Macs - no bueno. read more

Showers, meeting room, TV room, computers, split into two large sections of lounging with a tranquil water fountain surrounded by newspapers and magazines. It's pretty much got everything except for a bed. Boarding TV screens display WiFi login. The left side of the lounge has a wine bar while both sections has it's own food bar and adult beverage bar. Impressive variety of beverages both adult and non-adult. I am inspired by the selection they have that I might be stocking up my fridge differently for when guests come over. Haagen daz ice cream in the freezer or fresh fruit, sandwiches, salads, cut up fruit, yogurt, espresso machine, cold drinks, tea, little bottles of booze or poor yourself a drink. Another trip to Italy and another stop at Madrid. With about a 4 hour layover, I actually wanted the stop to be at LHR as there are 3-4 OneWorld Lounges practically right next to each other. However, I am not complaining as this is still better than most lounges in the US. Also, even with decent floor space, it doesn't feel as crowded as the LAX one. This is an average lounge. It's not very large and has a small selection of food and drink. It's clean and well staffed. They do have showers, a rest area, TVs and video games but all of those areas are very small and can only accommodate a couple of people. It's definitely better than sitting in the traditional waiting areas, but it's not amazing. If it had more space, then it owuld be a 4 star review, but everything just seems so crowded. read more

The Iberia Business Class Lounge in Terminal 4, near the S Gates, way rocks over any of the American lounges. Free unlimited booze / wine / beer (all self-serve) plus a much more extensive food offering. They had all kinds of different sandwiches, salads, Spanish omelettes, chorizos, fruit, sweets, you name it.........you could eat a meal here and feel satisfied. The ambiance is also quite nice, and it's spacious enough to not feel crowded. Well worth a stop before your international flight.
