We recently just launched our new business. Hours upon hours of work was put into building our…read more product, website and marketing/sales systems. We went ahead and proceeded to execute our marketing plan. Few months later, we found another company from miles away plagiarizing our website, photos and business model. If anyone has been through what we have been through, you know that it can cause a lot of sleepless nights. Sometimes you feel angry, but more so, you feel hopeless. We contacted the competitor. We were met with snarky replies and they brushed off our numerous requests to take down our copyrighted material from their website. Enough was enough. We contacted Villalobos & Associates via email at 4am once the plagiarism got out of hand. We received a phone call from Mark about 2 hours later. Who opens that early?! We thought we were the only ones pulling 20 hour days! :) Mark listened to our story, felt our pain, and calmly explained how we can position ourselves to send a DCMA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) to our competitor. Mark took full control of the situation and drew up the forms. He sent the forms directly to our competitor. It felt like Mark was heading our very own Legal Department. Few days later - our competitors took their site down. Poof. Like magic. You just don't know how happy our team was. I let each member know what had happened and now Mark is some sort of a mythological figure written in the history books of our company. It's a great story. Our team still talks about it to this day. We still send Mark gifts for helping protect our company's work and vision. He still has this demeanor that "It's what we do, no big deal" every time I bring the story up. Mark allowed us to continue building our vision and serving our customers. To that, we are GREATLY appreciative of the team over at Villalobos & Associates. We are happy (and confident) to know they are part of our team. Definitely an asset to our company. I recommend having Villalobos & Associates be a part of your Legal Team. You never know if something will come up, but you'll have a peace of mind knowing that someone will go up to bat for you at a moment's notice.

I would strongly caution anyone considering this legal office based on my experience as a landlord…read more Unfortunately, this has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences I have encountered. I retained this firm in September 2025 to assist with a tenant matter, and as of April 21, 2026, the tenant is still occupying the property without paying rent. Given the length of time that has passed, this delay has been both financially and personally burdensome. Additionally, as of April 21, 2026, I have yet to receive any updates regarding what occurred during a court appearance in March. I have not been informed of upcoming court dates, nor have I received consistent communication from the office. Instead, I have had to repeatedly initiate contact myself just to obtain basic information about my case. The process server they utilized also took approximately four months to serve the tenant, causing significant delays. Even after service was finally completed in March, there has still been no clear communication regarding the status or progress of the case. To make matters worse, the process server reportedly left with keys to the building, which raises serious concerns regarding security and professionalism. I strongly encourage others to conduct thorough due diligence and not rely solely on online reviews. My experience highlights serious concerns regarding communication, efficiency, and overall service.

This firm has saved me literally tens of thousands of dollars over the many years that I've been a Legal Shield member. More importantly, the skilled attorneys at S&M have often come to my aid when I'm in extremely difficult and stressful situations. I don't know where I would be right now if not for Legal Shield, and the amazing attorneys at S&M. This firm has provided me with legal services through my very valuable Legal Shield plan for over a decade now, and my mother has also been a client of theirs for about as long. Every single person, especially people with any amount of assets, needs to have a Legal Shield membership, and if you live in Chicago you'll be blessed with having S&M as your legal service provider. In fact, one of the few nice things about living in the Chicago area is the ability to have Shimanovsky & Moscardini as your Legal Shield provider:-). I pay so little for the amazing service I get, it's hard for me to believe that a program like Legal Shield even exists. I hope that some of the attorneys at Legal Shield read this review, so that they can understand how much I appreciate and value the services that they have provided me and my family for so many years. Thank you Legal Shield, and an even bigger thank you to the amazing attorneys at Shimanovsky & Moscardini, LLP!!

Receptionists Sara, Rosie, Bernice, and Tammy are also consistently kind and helpful and not rude. Another two attorneys I just spoke to recently, Attorneys Lauren Harris and Margaret Christy, were kind and helpful too. They all get 5 stars. Attorney Lauren Harris also called me after 5 pm like Attorney Laura Gaden Apostol has as well. The lawyers and receptionists who are terribly rude and uncaring take it down several stars, so I had to subtract at least 1 star unfortunately due to them. It is shocking to the body system every time it happens.
