Prices are not worth it for the amount of food. Portions are very small for a $35 Hibachi dinner. Server was nice and checked on us often. $96 bill for 2 people. Also the restaurant was ice cold. When asked about heat was told no heat. The employees were bundled in jackets as well due to it being cold. Overall not worth the money at all. read more

I have always loved Sake Sushi but now that they have ramen, I love them even more! Nice, hot ramen on a cold day is so perfect. The broth is rich and the noodles are cooked perfectly. My daughter got the traditional with the pork but I got the shrimp tempura. I tasted her pork though and it was delicious. Not too fatty and not dry at all. It's a large portion as well. I am ambivalent as I thought this would be a good go to spot. We went for Hibachi it was our first time. I was Unaware and Uninformed that there's an Automatic Gratuity for the Hibschi in addition to the Tip?? So for 2 of us they added right under 8$$ to the bill. The Down side is I may Not go back and it Certainly won't be for the Hibachi. BTW the portion is SMALL we pd 18.95 for Shrimp and Scallops got FOUR of the Smallest Shrimp imaginable and Two Very Small Scallops. So Buyer BEWARE I LEARNED the wrong way. We stopped on our way home from Texas. When I called to order my son the Kids Hibachi meal, they said they didn't have a kids hibachi (clearly on the menu and added to this post) instead they charged almost $12 for a 'side' of steak. So, after the rice, soup and steak (which are supposed to come with the hibachi meals) it was $19.40 for just his "kids meal" [receipt pictured-(for some reason they marked through them all)] I was glad they offered low carb sushi rolls but they were 90% just cucumber (pictured). They weren't terrible though. I ended up taking most of the cucumber off and throwing it away because there was so much of it. Definitely wouldn't stop again but the spicy Mayo was good. read more

The Sashimi lunch plate definitely my favorite, I asked for all salmon (which they charge extra) but it was so worth it. They're are so fresh, slices are perfectly portions, and tasteful. The plates comes with 1 sushi rolls of your choice. I had the Tuna rolls, it was a mediocre sushi (tasted like the one from a grocery store) I was expecting a little more taste on it. I also had the shrimp tempura, tasted fresh but I had better, the Shrimp Shumai, I think it was a little overcooked. And lastly, the Hail State Sushi, with fresh slices jalapeño & mayo base white sauce. Dirty table and floors, inedible clear soup, booths torn up and repaired with tape, broken high-chair strap. Limited lunch menu. Food tasted okay. However, we ordered two crunchy rolls and they were literally just crunchy topping inside the rice... a gross texture and also just the strangest thing. Voiced concern about it, and the waiter chuckled and made me feel like I didn't know what a crunchy roll was. Charged for both even though didn't eat it. This place sets the tone for unprofessional management. The manager/owner was very rude and nasty as the product served. I attempted to send undrinkable item back. She took it back and then still charged me for it. I've never in my life experience such bad leadership and management. What once was a staple in our community has unfortunately fell to the do not waste your money here category. In the last few months I haven eaten here 3 times. All three time's the service was poor, twice my order was incorrect, and today the food tasted "off". None of us finished our plate. I discontinued getting tea as it tasted like coffee numerous times. We had to ask for silverware, napkins, refills, chop sticks, small cups for soy sauce for our sushi rolls. A very different experience than once could be had here. The restaurant was not busy, but instead of waiting at the grill for people to file in to fill the seats, we sat in the reception area. There were grills requiring cleaning. So previously one had time to order a drink, talk, study the menu. Tonight as soon as we sat down at the grill, food orders were requested. The grills around us were filthy. It used to be the grill was cleaned at the end of the chef's time, ready to go for the next seating. Not now. I know the food prep is largely dependent on the individual chef, so I can't knock it to much. The food was ok, not great. There was only one chef which I am certain complicated the whole evening for everyone. He was a busy man and appeared tired. Just overall underwhelming night. The food was ok, nothing horrible, just not what it used to be. Maybe the establishment is a victim of the pandemic and vast demand for skilled labor in this small town that can not be filled. read more

This just is not the place that it use to be and it shows. I don't know why things have changed, new ownership maybe? In the past the dining room was clean and bustling every time, but now it is relatively deserted, my most recent trip about two weeks ago there were only a few people and zero at the hibachi grills. I wouldn't go the for the sushi, but it's well worth going for the hibachi. Can't go wrong with stake but if you want to step out of the norm the scallop hibachi is great! Step it up a knock and ask for some hot sauce on the side to mix into your yum yum sauce for a spicy yum yum delight. This restaurant has gone way down hill when in at 1pm on a Saturday and soup tasted like bleach and didn't get to eat salad because they didn't give us any utensils. We are from out of town and went here to get sushi to go and take to our hotel. The asshats gave me the wrong order and when my wife calls to let them know that she'd be returning to get the correct order the manager proceeds to tell my wife with a snarky attitude that your husband took the wrong order . How do you take the wrong order when the order is walked over by the staff in a plastic bag that was tied by the staff and hands it to me in the waiting area and says here ya go? So long story short my wife gets there and the manager argued with my wife still telling her I took the wrong order. WTF! Also, to add insult, the manager decides to be a smartass and says have a good night with an attitude to my wife as she is leaving. Besides the rude ass manager, the sushi sucked unfortunately and was very bland and average. We didn't finish it and threw half of it away. Thankfully my daughter got pizza and we ended up eating some. I would never go here again and since I don't I live here that is not going to be a problem Suck it Sake Sushi!! read more

I used to come here so much 3 years ago before moving to a different state. I loved their fugitives mountain roll and adored their hibachi experience. Now, their service is getting lax. Waiters and waitresses peering over the glass wall spooking diners out. One friend ordered the a sushi roll and it was only three rolls on his plate. Mine was a decent amount thank God. The food overall seem to be a little lax now. I don't know what's wrong.... maybe a change in management or something but.... definitely not shining age for this restaurant. Smh read more

This restaurant has an issue. I live nearby and used to go here often, but the last two times I have been in the restaurant (March 2022 and August 25, 2022) it was absolutely disgusting. There was "stuff" everywhere, the hibachi grills were horrible and the same urinal was out of order 5 months ago. I am from new york, I work for a Japanese company. I have cut back on my fish consumption (especially raw) so sashimi and sushi are now an infrequent treat. Being in Meridian Mississippi eating very decent sashimi and sushi is a nice suprise. A few sub standard pieces and I must agree with other posters, a bit $$$$ for the product and also the weight. However if you want decent sushi product prepared and presented very authentically this is a good spot. read more
