I am beyond pleased with Stepping Stone School! My daughter has attended since she was just six…read moreweeks old and is now two years old, and it truly speaks volumes that the majority of her teachers from earlier classrooms are still there. Every morning when we walk in, my daughter is greeted with so much love from Miss Emily. They even talk about Miss Emily's four cats, which always brings a smile to my daughter's face and makes her feel so comfortable and connected. Throughout the day, Mrs. Chelsie often stops by her classroom to visit, take pictures, and share updates with me, which means so much. As a single mom and a natural worrier, having that consistent communication gives me such peace of mind. I genuinely have no worries when my daughter is at Stepping Stone. They truly treat us like family with daily updates, check-ins, and even phone calls when my daughter misses a day to make sure everything is okay. At Stepping Stone, my child is never forgotten and is always well cared for by every teacher she encounters. Mrs. Melissa has also left a lasting impression on my baby girl. Even after transitioning classrooms, she continues to check in on her, making sure she's doing well and thriving. I am incredibly grateful for the love, care, and dedication shown to my daughter and our family. Stepping Stone School is truly a special place.

If I could give fewer than one star, I would. This review reflects my personal experience as a…read morelongtime parent at this daycare and my opinion after several years of repeated concerns about safety, supervision, and communication. In my experience, supervision has often seemed inconsistent, and I have personally felt uneasy about how safety situations were handled. On one occasion, my child managed to leave the classroom area unnoticed, which was extremely upsetting. While staff responded once they were aware, I was left feeling that better safeguards were needed. During another incident a few years ago, I witnessed a staff disagreement that happened in front of families. It was very uncomfortable and left me questioning how well the administration manages staff and parent communication. In my opinion, classrooms often appear overcrowded and understaffed. I've observed one teacher overseeing a large group of children, and I've heard staff express frustration about not having enough help. Because of this, I've felt that my children weren't receiving the attention or care I would expect, especially given the cost of tuition. My younger child often came home needing a diaper change after long days, which made me concerned about how often he was being checked. Despite bringing this up with leadership multiple times, I didn't notice improvement. On another occasion, he was hurt while playing, and I felt that the follow-up communication could have been handled more carefully. I've also noticed several facility issues -- such as unlocked windows and peeling paint -- that made me uneasy. When I mentioned these to the director, I didn't feel confident that they were promptly addressed. Over the past year, I've been contacted by licensing agencies and have also reached out to the corporate office myself because I felt local leadership was not resolving issues effectively. In my opinion, the facility's priorities seem to focus more on image and parent reviews than on meaningful changes to support children and teachers. I was even asked to post a positive review, which made me uncomfortable given my experience. For a program that is among the most expensive in the area, I expected a safe, nurturing, and well-managed environment. Unfortunately, my personal experience has been the opposite -- disorganized classrooms, inconsistent supervision, and leadership that feels overwhelmed. Parents considering this center should, in my opinion, visit in person, ask questions about safety procedures and staffing, and make an informed decision based on what they see and feel comfortable with. I wish I had done the same much sooner.

There is a reason they don't allow Facebook or Google reviews I think. I gave them every…read moreopportunity to win me over; after dragging my feet for 1.5 years, we finally moved and I could not be happier. From the get-go I felt intimidated by the owner, but felt it was a good thing cause she kept a tight ship with a business like looking over children, but there's very little ROI compared to my new place (that's also $200 cheaper/month). They never filled out essential-to-me developmental information on the take home sheet (in 1.5 yrs of going here) like what my child did every day, how their attitude was, what they learned etc. it was like pulling teeth asking for the information to the point where I stopped asking. Eventually I started asking again, went to the owner cause I still wasn't getting answers, and got a told I could buy the $2k curriculum and read over it if I wanted to.. I said excuse me? And then went off on lack of communication until they printed 52 weeks of parent sheets that they claimed were too expensive to print out for every parent .... after complaining some more about how this is a right of mine as a parent paying $850/month they started writing what they did daily on a white board, but was still awkward asking "what does stop and go mean? What is that activity?" (+1star from a baseline one star for attempting to appease) Then, we got several rounds of sickness this year, to the point where my daughter got CMV and Mono flue at 20 months old. Owner showed slight concerns but only one follow up when she was out for a month. I asked for a discount and got shut down cause that's how they pay their workers. After breaking down Kathy said she'd speak to the co-owner (rarely seen but friendly). After 2 more weeks go by and we get admitted to tx children's and I ask again (since we planned to keep her out for atleast 2 weeks post sickness too to build immunity) she finally offered discount. When we returned and co owner asked how she was doing, Kathy made some snide remark about how she's a kid and kids get sick. No empathy. Undergrad kids are teachers. Fine, but would have 8 teachers and none were there from the morning and would not communicate information well between shift groups. High turnover for negative reasons after speaking with atleast 3 afterwards. They run a business well, but the drill sergeant doesn't need to be the face of the directors if there's two.. And empathy goes a long way in a leadership role. Both hubby and I had had enough of them and cannot say enough about new place. Writes full sheets of notes each day; sends pictures home, has new themes and curriculum. We've only been gone for 20 days and our daughters development has improved significantly (and I didn't notice anything "delayed" previously, she just seems way more confident and talkative than before). Was not planning on writing something up, but if you have a chance with another option and you feel better go with it. More expensive definitely doesn't mean better return on educational investment for your child in this situation.

We cannot, in good conscience, recommend this facility and we regret not paying attention to the…read morereview provided by Abby Hartzier. We disclosed upfront that our son needed assistance with feeding. Yet during our enrollment, he was not adequately fed. He frequently became ill and we often kept him home. We paid full tuition and did not seek refunds for those absences, assuming he was still acclimating. After five months, we paused for a summer break. He looked healthier, so we decided to try again. Tuition for the return month had already been charged. On his first day back, we were called to pick him up because he would not eat. We concluded that continuing was not in his best interest and that we were wasting money. We shared our concerns and our decision to withdraw with the director, Ms. Tammy, who encouraged us to contact the owner, Stephanie. Despite calls, emails, and text, we received no response. When we asked about a refund, Ms. Melody told us at the owner's direction that no refund would be issued. When I collected our son's belongings, I spoke with Ms. Melody again and restated our experience; she later informed that the owner would only refund our deposit, not the tuition. The lack of communication and refusal to engage left us feeling that payment took precedence over our child's well-being. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this place.

My grand children have been going there for over 3 years: one for Day care and one for after…read moreschool. They both love it. Staff seem caring and attentive. As for languages, staff are primarily Spanish speaking, but fluent in English; I don't see much Chinese language education, but they may have staff who are fluent in mandarin. The academy provides a bus to pick kids up from their schools for the after school program, which makes it very convenient. My older grand son takes the bus in the afternoon and spends the next 2-3 hours at MLA playing, eating a snack, and most importantly doing homework. He is now in 4th grade and he gets virtual all his homework done there. I would definitely recommend this place.

My son gets a big hug everyday at drop-off and pick-up and has NEVER cried when I've dropped him off. For me, that's a huge sign of a positive environment. We've been through several daycare/preschools and have always felt the staff was just "punching the clock". At MA, the staff seems to genuinely love children AND coming to work everyday! I did a lot of research before moving to CS, and this was the only preschool in town that taught English, Spanish and Mandarin! My 2nd grader also does after-school here and they have a tutor to help with Spanish and Mandarin homework too. Also, they send daily pics of your kiddo, which I absolutely love.
