I had THE BEST time. I really didn't have a clue how to paint a beach scene....but the engaging instructor helped me (and 7 of my new friends!) put brush to paint to palette to create an adorable scene the studio calls Corona Beach. When I got there and checked in I picked a spot at the tables where easels, paint brushes, water, and a painting aprons were just waiting for each of us who had made reservations - there was also room for walk ins. Right now the studio is set up as a BYOB so I brought a little bottle of my own favorite wine to enjoy. From the first brush stroke to the finished product with the step by step instruction there were lots of laughs and time flew. A couple of hours later we were all holding our own renditions of the painting and everyone was happy. This is a great place to bring friends and family for a fun night or possibly for a celebration ( anniversary, birthday, shower ), and I would think for team building functions for businesses. Everyone was happy with that side. However, the owner/director was completely rude and dismissive. She was annoyed and impatient when customers asked questions. A few from their party left feeling inadequate because of their treatment. They PAID for an art class. They were treated, AS CUSTOMERS, like an inconvenience. Like an annoyance. Very sad. Could have been a great outing. Instead it was a bust.

We have had lease houses in College Station rented to students at Texas A&M who, though outstanding young people, never learned to clean for themselves. So we have experience with make-readies when the leases turn, probably several hundred. Now we have moved our operations to the Somerville area. This was our first experience. I am going to pay you notwithstanding that the job you did was deplorable; by far the worst that I could imagine. And the fact that you, by your explanation in your email, tried to establish the value of your work as meeting our expectations, merely signifies that you have no idea how to clean. It is a sad commentary that you think your job was worthy of full payment. It was horrible. But I'm going to pay you anyway and suggest that you use the money to train for another line of work. What a nice resale store! We went there after eating at Citizens (so fun!), and I mentioned to the…read morewomen working there that we had eaten at Citizens. They told me if we show our receipt we get 20% off. I don't take receipts anymore bc they're covered in BPA. So they asked what we ate and then gave us the discount. We got all kinds of cute clothes and toys for the three year old, and a Free People top for one of us! Oh, and they have a small Christmas section where I got the cutest framed pic. Note that they moved locations recently so the map we used wasn't updated. New location is across the main road running through Hempstead from the big courthouse looking building. Check it out! Drop off donations any time in the alley next to their store. They're in need of jewelry at the moment which I plan to take with me next time.

I've tried shopping in this store twice now, and the prices are much higher than other thrift…read morestores. I'm grateful they are helping people, and the store looks very nice; but people don't shop in thrift stores to pay $22 for a pair of blue jeans ( no matter what brand they are). I was told by the employee " those are Ariats", so the nicer things are priced higher. They were the ones that were in his size and the ones he wears normally. I'd honestly rather run down to South Texas Tack and buy them brand new at full price before spending that on a used pair, that were already ragged at the bottom. It seems as things are donated to y'all, you would rather move the items quickly to make room for new items but instead I saw the same things sitting on shelves that were there when the store first opened (because the prices are too high). I even looked at a vase in the back, that was one that you receive flowers in and it was marked $6. It should have been $1-2 if it's at a thrift store. So if your looking for a true thrifting experience with great deals, this isn't your kind of place I promise you.
