Great spot to visit to check out the area and surrounding shops. There is free parking all over nearby too. The restrooms were open and clean. The town square has a myriad of things including some picnic tables, art work, sculptures, and music playing through some speakers in the nearby tower. While sitting there enjoying a picnic lunch a roadrunner decided to show up and it was funny to see some little kids chasing it. The bird was probably stressed but the little kids thinking they had a chance to get close it it was making me laugh. All we needed was a coyote (meep meep). There is a carousel, a splash pad, and lots of art sculptures. The area is lit up right now in Dec, with Christmas lights, and they are done pretty well. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby within 1/4 - 1/2 mile, easy to walk around. Check out my photos. read more

They have a free splash pad. The tabernacle and Brigham Young's home is in this area and are free to visit. Lots of fun activities are usually going on. Definitely would recommend. Parking can be a little difficult so get there early read more

This is a must stop if you are in the area and a great resource for locals in the community. The town square is a centrally located greenspace with lots of art, a carousel, a waterplay area, covered picnic tables and clean restrooms. You can enjoy a nice walk with your dog or picnic in the shade, or bring your kids to splash in the water area or ride the carousel for $1. I particularly enjoyed the central location and looking at the sculptures that are displayed throughout the area. I found myself pondering "Book Peddlers" for a good 10 minutes or so but there are lots of interesting pieces to be seen. It's a nice location as a respite for travelers and worth an hour of your time if you have it. I also saw that they have lots of events here, so check out the calendar as well if you are planning a visit. read more

We had been past St. George, but never in it until last year and we were so impressed with the city and the city Square where the parks are located that we went back again this year. The parks in the middle of town are excellent and dog, friendly kid, friendly people, friendly. They're everything from carousels to waterfalls into a small pond for the kids to splash around or the adults, Art pieces all around as well as historical markers for some of the statues and it's large enough that it's quiet and peaceful in some areas as well as the section with snacks and waiting pools and carousels and children, giggling and laughing and playing. The Restaurants are very good that people are friendly and there's lots of hiking and sightseeing in the area. read more

Great place to walk and explore with the family. The carousel was my kids favorite. It only costs $2 per rider. You must be 42' to ride.

Holidays enhance the experience of this park in the winter month. My grandchildren enjoy the splash pad and surrounding activities. However, during winter months the splash pad is off. They have a carousel to boot. Children's Museum, Judd's candy shop is nearby, occasionally they have a holiday market and Farmstead isn't t far for a yummy pastry. read more

Back in The Day, the town square was a playground/open space to the Woodward School where I attended sixth grade. So when I came by to visit, I was hoping to wander around my old stomping grounds and was bummed to see that they changed. But that bummer-ment quickly faded into happiness when I saw what now is. It's a beautiful park and outdoor art exhibit for the residents and visitors to enjoy-and it's very well done. There are mature trees and landscape all around, providing ample shade. Quaint little walking paths wind around the art pieces which give nod to the history of the area. A fantastic water feature winds its way through the park giving children a reprieve from the typical hot St. George weather. In the middle of it all is a carousel. I did not ride it, as I figured that a grown adult without a child in tow would look out of place (although I would have loved to hop on a beautifully painted horse and circle over and over while listening to happy music play in the background). While it may take me awhile to come around to the changes to how I remember things decades ago, I do like what they've done with the place. read more

Very nice little park. First time here probably the last time. Nice, very serene atmosphere. Plenty of shade, it has a water cascade for the kids to play in and a little river that goes through the park. Good spot to come read and bring the kids to play. Every one was super friendly, I was taken back a bit. Been from California we all know we are not very friendly, especially to strangers. It was nice to be greeted. read more

Saint George Town Square - The Sandman - Parks Near Me - St. George, Utah

My friends and I stopped at this park to have a bit of a picnic with some takeout food, since the interior of the restaurant was closed because of the virus. Nonetheless, the weather was perfect on the day we visited and it was certainly interesting to see (what I assume is usually) a bustling area fairly deserted. This park has lots to do for people of all ages. There is a carousel and a wide open piece of land that I imagine kids would love to run wild on. However, there is also ample places to sit and read a book or just relax. Overall, this park is lovely and well maintained and I would be happy to visit again on future trips to St. George. read more

It had an amazing splash pad, great shade, and a ton of activities to do. It was such a fun time.

Found parking even on a busy Saturday while there was an art festival going on. Beautiful lush grass, plenty of shady areas, splash pad and water rivers for kids to play, clean restrooms, live music... I really enjoyed visiting! Just a thought,... maybe someone can open a shop that sales sunblock, towels, swim diapers, towels, hats? Haha we had to run back to the house to grab these things but just a thought but yeah this place is perfect for festivals. They where not allowing dogs at the festival though which I find to be a bummer but literally that's the only thing I could find to complain about this is such a nice area if I lived here I'd visit during the week when nothing's going on and just hang out with a blanket and some snacks. Oh and there's a merry-go-round too! read more

Saint George Town Square - Parks Near Me - St. George, Utah

St. George Historic Downtown Incredible, surrounded by beautiful mountains and the scenery. You can see for miles and miles. The old buildings are great and the history is wonderful. Fun restaurants such as the Cliffside Café, the view from up there is stunning. Great stores and one of my favorites is called Annies vintage garden, I love that place. Beautiful open areas, parks, great statues, the people are the best. So many side trips to do, things to see and you have to go to the Dinosaur discovery. It's so fascinating to see all the things from thousands of years old. I love St George! I WOULD come back to spend more time to explore. read more

So you know in the movies where they show a park during fall where all the trees are red, yellow or orange? And you know that tax dollars are being spent to maintain that park? Well this is the epitome of that!! Everything is so clean and well kept. There are statues to look at through out the park by various artists. There is a carousel and fountains to entertain the little ones during the warmer months. My favorite part of the whole park was seeing actual flower bushes everywhere!!! It's been so long since I have seen flowers that weren't from a store. It just reminded me of my grandmother's backyard when I was a kid. I would say that this is an awesome spot to have a picnic, walk your dog, or just be outside to enjoy the nice weather. My bf and I had a good time enjoying the scenery and enjoying each others company. I would definitely come back whenever I visit St. George. read more

If you ever watched that old 90s sitcom 7th Heaven, you'll recognize the town square. No, it's not the same one, but it's practically the same. The park is surrounded by an elementary school, a library, a flagpole flying Old Glory, a waterpark, and a carousel. City Hall is right across the street and so is a general store. It's classic, conservative Americana. In a good way. It's good, clean, wholesome fun for kids and families and even cute for a date, since it's adjacent to the historic district. Plan to visit this throwback to Pleasantville if you're in the area. read more

A wonderful place to bring your family, especially the little ones! Located inside the downtown historic district of good ol' Saint George, Town Square Park can be found in the midst of the City Hall and Children's Museum. The beautiful art displayed in the park gives the place a modern feel. Town Square Park is more than just a park. There are many water features that allow children of all ages to have fun and cool off! Just in front of Heritage Tower is a splash pad, which my nephew seemed to enjoy the most. He loved running free with the other kids while the water would sporadically shoot high in the air from underneath his feet! The river was my favorite water feature because I could get my feet wet while watching my nephew. I noticed a lot of parents doing the same. The waterfalls were also nice, but a lot of kids were jumping from rock to rock with absolutely zero fear and it made me nervous! We came on a Sunday and unfortunately, the carousel was not operating. My nephew would've loved this! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the sign that said it only cost a buck to ride! Overall, Town Square Park is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. It's clean and well maintained. The grassy areas would make for a nice picnic date. There are plenty of chairs and tables too! Parking may be limited in the lot, especially on the weekend, but street parking is available too. I'd definitely make it a point to return to Town Square Park whenever I pass through St. George! read more

This free little gem of a splash pad is amazing for your littles! I've brought my son numerous times (almost every time we'd visit St George). I think everyone had the same idea as me! Definitely was a great place for my son to make 10 new "best friends " as he calls them! Saturdays are super busy. I love the shaded area with tables and chairs for the parents that let their kids run free (which I admit is me on occasion ) read more

There is a fun and interactive water feature for the kids to splash around in. Old brick buildings line the park and make for beautiful photographs. There's also a working carousel that you can ride on for a small fee. All in all it's a beautiful, pleasant area, great for everyone. There are tables and plenty of seating around the area for eating or just relaxing. read more

Town Square Park is located inside the downtown historic district, is surrounded by some of the city's most prominent historic buildings. The park has several dramatic water features; a splash pad fountain with jets that spray, a lazy river to cool your feet or to hide bodies, and a splashing waterfall. There are tables and chairs provide a relaxing place to watch children bully each other. Town Square Park is a WiFi hotspot, but it is incredibly slow. There is a carousel here with horses that look crazed. It's a wonderful place to come alone and read a book like a murder mystery, or bring the family and make them pretend they are having fun. We are having a nice picnic in the park on the grass. Splash around in the splash pad and winding river. Take a stroll along the walking path. Town Square is more than just a park. They hold events here as well. I am at the park with my family and friends. We are going to have a picnic lunch. My friends and I wonder off, leaving the adults to prepare lunch. Isabella and the other kids play dodge ball, I can hear them giggling and shouting with glee. I stand there for a moment and watch them all, like a bystander. Clutching my latest tech acquisition. stroll along, looking at the little wild flowers that grow along the path. I hear my friends play with joy and the noise of busy adults preparing the picnic. Looming directly in front of me is a magnificent set if cement steps. I decide to rest my back against its huge trunk. I turn on the iPad. I begin to play a violent video game based on MMA fighters. I don't feel comfortable giving the park 5 stars. While it is a wonderful place, there are some things that could be improved. First the internets. http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/i/1223604324 The internets here are slow and they are asynchronous. The speeds of the internets are almost reaching net neutrality guidelines, but if the FCC changes it to 25Mbits, then they might have to take over the Internet here too. The grass is like the green grass of Texas. I love Texas but their grass sucks. The grass here seems like crab grass and it's not comfortable. Other than that, it's perfect. I'll review every month or so to see if things improve. read more

We found this place, while driving back to Southern CA from Draper, UT. We split our trip in half and ended up in St. George. After checking in to our hotel, we need a place for our toddler to run around and burn some energy. This was an AMAZING place to stop. There is a stream that runs through the park, where people can wade through, sit in and splash around to beat the heat (it was over 100 degrees when we were there) plus there's a huge splash pad to run through as well. In addition to the water features, there was plenty of shade, lots of grassy areas and even a carousel that only cost $1.00 to ride. Since we visit UT often to see family, we'll definitely be stopping here to burn some energy and get out of the car again!! Definitely a place to visit. read more

Overview: The Saint George Town Square is a beautiful concrete park with fountains, sculptures, and a carousel ($1 per ride) for families to play and interact with each other. It's beautifully manicured, is bordered by city hall, the town library, and an elementary school. It's exceptionally clean in more ways than one. I'm not from Saint George, and am not even from Utah, so if you're like me, you're going to be confused if you visit here. It's crowds and crowds of small children with young, Caucasian moms. When I came here, there were no non-white people, no person above the age of 35 besides the carousel operator, and no people between the ages of 14-20. It was like walking into a Twilight Zone episode or the Stepford Wives. One more oddity is the number of unsupervised/lost children on the outskirts of the park. My wife asked two children (under 5 years old) where their parents were and they just kept twirling around a lamppost. While I felt like a fish out of water the entire time I walked around here (being Asian, male, without children, and above the age of 13), I cannot deny the perfection that is this park. If I had children I would make this my go-to destination every weekend. read more

This was so beautiful last night. It is decorated for Xmas and the trees were such a vivid red light. So beautiful. They have some really fun and lovely sculptures in the park that me, being an art snob liked! It was cold, dark, and beautiful -just how I like my coffee. I was very impressed with the square and all that it offered. It's one of those things that makes a small town feel like a small town and make you think for JUST a second that it would be nice to know everything about your neighbors, including what they had for dinner last night, what movies they like, and what they bought their kids for xmas after digging through their trash, looking over the fence into their windows, and generally stalking them because you have nothing better to do. I give the square big thumbs up. It really is a lovely spot in the little old downtown here in St. George.
