First time: got stitches in my face when a glass beer bottle exploded - had Medicaid Second time: hand cat-bite (cat bites are high risk for infection) from scared cat - got education on cat bite and antibiotics - had Medicaid Third time: finger cat bite with puss ew! from playing with excited cat - have no insurance - they having sliding scale discount department call me for screening and enrollment Each time, the wait was minimal like less than an hour even less than 30min sometimes! No 4-6hr wait or calling multiple ERs in the area to check wait times like in over populated/under resourced Los Angeles! The doctors and nurses are always chill and friendly and the admin staff is efficient and communicates clearly! I like that they have all my info and med history and that I also have my history here in the MyChart app.!

I'm a current patient at Denver health 9/10/26 I'm on the cardiac floor , today I've had 2 CNA…read morerefused to assist me,first CNA I asked for a sponge bath, her response was take a nap now and we'll shower tomorrow not what I was asking, I asked her when she was done assisting the resident in bed #2 she also went to the charge nurse and brought her into my room to confront me, I don't even know what she was talking about. So quiet a bit of daytime care I didn't receive the proper care intern so the 7 pm to 7am CNA was asked to give myself a towel & washcloth and basin to give myself a sponge bath, which I did, then I asked CNA to please empty my basin of water she did, then I needed a little ice water and she said " Everytime I come in here you guys ask for something, she told us she was tired as she went to nursing school today, not fair to us patients to be short tempered and refuse assistance, the point being we're here to heal and get proper care , this is very upsetting. Also this morning my oxygen came off of the wall unit , my roommate buzzed the nursing station and told them it was off for 40 minutes and the unit secretary came and fixed the issue, I have congestive heart failure and my oxygen levels go down quickly.

As a physician myself, it was humbling to see the other side of our healthcare system when it does not work well and this fell into that category. It was unfortunately a long and drawn out process that has never achieved resolution as I ended up giving up on even trying. I began with the provider, officer manager, nurse, provider, and eventually ran it up the chains after months and months of getting no responses. I am not posting this to place blame on any sole person but to hopefully prevent others from having to experience to poor quality of care that this clinic and SCL/Intermountain Health as a whole in this case are providing. Happy to field any questions or concerns just from my own personal experience.

She has always been very responsive to my panicked calls (when is it not an urgent call, when your tiny baby is sick, even if it's "normal"?) She has also welcomed my questions/hesitations when it comes to some Western medicine norms, and she always offers holistic and research-based advice/thoughts/diagnoses. She even met me on a Saturday (not office hours) to give my girl the last of her three-day antibiotic shots for an ugly ear infection. Personally, she diagnosed and has helped treat issues I've had for years -- that a counselor, midwife, dermatologist, and naturopath didn't catch. While it is a younger and smaller practice, I'm definitely willing to overlook a less-than-friendly receptionist who answered the phone a few times or confusion with paperwork. The care and professionalism we've received when it really counts is invaluable to me. Update (Feb 2018): she no longer has a frazzled receptionist. Leslie is always kind, warm, and welcoming! :)

I really don't understand anyone rating Dr. Shelley any more than one star....?…read moreI am new in town and looking to find a medical provider in my neighborhood and thought from this clinic's website that it would be a perfect fit. Yet it was a complete let down from the moment I called to make an appointment. It was hard to get in, the woman on the phone was rude and not helpful and then my appointment was not scheduled correctly. Dr. Shelly was not any more impressive. Unfortunately, she was very impersonal, did offer a natural and holistic approach I was looking for and rushed me out of her office. I'll keep looking for someone that will offer me more than 15 minutes of their time. I wasted a $30 copay on 15 useless minutes.
