I would not recommend care here to any of my friends, family, or own patients. The experience that I had as a patient was absolutely awful. As a physician myself, it was humbling to see the other side of our healthcare system when it does not work well and this fell into that category. It was unfortunately a long and drawn out process that has never achieved resolution as I ended up giving up on even trying. I began with the provider, officer manager, nurse, provider, and eventually ran it up the chains after months and months of getting no responses. I am not posting this to place blame on any sole person but to hopefully prevent others from having to experience to poor quality of care that this clinic and SCL/Intermountain Health as a whole in this case are providing. DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE BY RELYING ON THEM FOR YOUR CARE I decided to try SCL Denver west as I have not had a family care practitioner in a long time and felt that it would be a good idea to have a single practitioner. My mother had just gone through some health scares so I thought now would be the time to get my own health checked. I had an intake and some blood tests run after a deductible on my insurance had been met last year thinking nothing of it and thinking that an annual wellness exam would be what I would be charged for as this exam, and be billed for labs separately (I have gone into numerous other family practitioners in the area and had a physical completed for me and then other issues possibly discussed so that I may be billed and coded as a wellness exam- something my insurance covers in full). The doctor did check my vitals and order some blood tests and that was all. SCL purposefully allowed me to come in and didn't perform the specific routine exams needed to code for wellness so that they could bill me for a PCP (something they make additional money for) despite the fact I had not had a wellness exam that year. The initial exam itself went fine but what I didn't see because my deductible had been hit was that despite this being my first appointment with them they neither 'performed' nor billed for a wellness exam and therefor made much more money off of that visit. So fast forward to January: I go in to discuss a recent ear piercing (which was determined to be healing normally but the PA prescribed me antibiotics anyway which I immediately should've seen as a red flag) and routine STI screening that I get done regularly as a responsible single woman. I have received such screenings as a part of a wellness exam several times before at planned parenthood so once again assumed that this wouldn't constitute not being able to code as a wellness exam. After an uneventful appointment with PA Jamie L in which I found her demeanor extremely condescending and once again fraudulent for telling me there was no issue then prescribing me antibiotics anyway- I was billed a total of over $400 with insurance that as a single college student on her own, I cannot afford. This could've very simply been fixed by performing a wellness exam before giving a quick look at my ear and charging me an exorbitant amount for next to no care. The final straw that has me convinced that this office does not care for their patients but instead the money they make off of them: during my visit they attempted to sell me several separate vaccines though they did not know the price associated with any of them. The one good person there was a Medical Assistant. She took the time to at least attempt to search for the prices of different panel options for me (though she couldn't find them so I was forced to just cross my fingers that the lab wouldn't bill me a crazy amount as well - which of course they did) after I got the EOB in the mail I called my insurance. They told me that something of that nature could have been coded as wellness and told me to call SCL back and have them fix the coding and resend it. It took me 3 weeks to get ahold of Lisa Valesquez, the manager of this location only for her to argue with me that this was the correct code and that she wouldn't change it because that would be fraudulent, despite my insurance saying otherwise - then say "I'm sorry that that's your prerogative" when I told her I would be finding a new practitioner if this couldn't be resolved, seeing as a wellness exam was what should've been performed and coded for in the first place as several other local practitioners have done for me before. Rather than helping me, Lisa attempted to completely absolved herself and shifted any blame in my direction after the upsettingly inadequate care I received here to begin with. I have learned the hard way that I should have headed the other 1 star reviews. Please do not make my mistake. read more

Giving one star in this case should be "horrible" not just simply "not good". I seriously don't understand how a company like this stays in business. It took me 6 weeks to see a cardiologist. After that appointment, he suggested a treadmill test. I agreed as I was having serious irregular heart issues. He ended that appointment and directed me to the office to set up an appointment for the test. When I got to the office, they set up their earliest appointment which would be 2 and a half months later. I explained that I was having some serious issues and really needed to get an earlier appointment. They would not budge. So 2 and a half months later, they call me days before my appointment and tell me I would have to reschedule. They gave me an alternative time that would not work for me. Then told me it would be another 2 months. I asked about future days. They said the only time available would be the one alternative time they gave me. To say the least, I was less than hospitable with them and they hung up on me. Very rude and unwilling to work with me, and reading other comparable reviews, I will NEVER do business with this company In the future and would encourage others to do the same. read more

This is a review of the former SCL clinic in Firestone, Co, now Intermountain Healthcare. I needed a new provider once I was on Medicare. I had a get-acquainted meet with a NP and it seemed I had found a good match. No. These clinics are run by a corporation in an assembly line manner, and don't you even think about jamming up the works with an acute need or a request that might be out of the ordinary. When you call, you will not speak with someone in the office but with what appears to be either a call center or independent contractors. You must leave a message and you mustn't have the audacity to expect a timely reply. Here's Strike One - I had mentioned to the NP that I have frequent UTIs due to MS and I would appreciate it if she wouldn't mind me calling her and asking for an Rx without an appointment. I'm 65, have had kids and have dealt with various health problems and I know what's going on with my body. Well, she was down with that, no problem. When the inevitable infection hit on a Saturday I assumed there would at least be someone on call. Silly me. After three or so calls I heard from a doctor in ARIZONA who was as stymied as me. Then she called me "hon" (which I find inappropriate and condescending as hell) and asked my why didn't I just go to an urgent care clinic? Strike Two - was running out of a med so called (again, NOT office personnel, but likely someone in their home taking messages) for a refill. Gave plenty of time for approval but days later I hadn't heard anything. My awesome pharmacist gave me a few days worth to get by and finally my Rx was approved. Picked it up, took it home, wrong med. And it was I who had to work to remedy the NP's screw up. She chalked it up to an "oversight." I had to pay for both Rxs. Strike Three - ENTIRELY MY FAULT, I thought I had one more vial of a med, but no, the empty one in my hand was the last one. This is a med that, if I don't take it at night my next day is full of anxiety, a dizzy head and I feel little electric-like jolts in my head, legs and arms. Called the pleasant person, whoever they were, first thing in the morning and explained my situation. He said he would expedite the request. 3:30 PM, no word, called, nothing they could do. So I high-tailed into the clinic to see if someone there could grab the NP between appointments for a one or two minute convo. First the receptionist seemed kind, but in no uncertain terms would she break the sacred rhythm of the corporate machine. There was nothing she could do, even though I explained to her that I felt very sick and only needed a quick refill approval. I left, but said I'd be back before they closed at 5:00 because I WAS SICK! So, I showed up at 4:45 and was accused by the receptionist of "stalking" the NP and she was gonna call the police. Seriously. Some other woman came out and let me know that I am not more important than all the other patients waiting for whatever they needed. No, I don't and didn't think that, but I was certainly in need right then and there. I admit to getting a little snarky but dammit my head hurt. Then she said, "Why don't you just go to an urgent care clinic?". Well, bless her heart, she went back and talked to the NP and thirty minutes later my fantastic pharmacy fixed me up. Time and again when I've needed refills I received different dosages than what I was used to, or directions that this gal seems to have pulled out of the ether. I don't think she bothers to look at her patients charts when it comes to medications. So, three strikes and I'm outta there. That place is not healthcare, it's big business where patients are consumers and they'd better walk the line. read more

My Dr.'s amazing, not sure about the others that practice there, but the MA's are completely rude, unprofessional, judgemental, young and inexperienced "health" care workers like a carousel of hair stylists that don't last more than a year. The front desk ladies are the worst honestly. Have never had a pleasant experience with any of them and talk to you like their desk, headset and ergonomic rolling office chair, make them a higher and better member or society because everyone that comes in is seeking medical help. Go to Google and see what their rating is there also. You won't be shocked I'll tell you that much. read more

SCL seems only to care for maximum Billing, Customer care is a distant second. I have been trying for 6 months to get a billing problem resolved and cannot even get the courtesy of a call back. I went in for my annual "Wellness" exam as they would not renew my prescription unless I did. Then I was billed for Both a Wellness exam and a Office visit both occurring at the same 10-minute time. Nothing else was discussed or mentioned as I had no other problems. Medicare should really Investigate these people!! read more

I called the SCL Health Wheatridge location to make an appointment as my insurance recently changed and I need a new PCP. I was told the doctor I was interested in wasn't available but that a different physician was, so I booked an appointment. The soonest I could get in as a new patient was a month out, and I have a prescription that is about to run out so it was cutting it close. I arrived exactly at 8:45 for a 9am appointment, only to find out that the doctor I booked with is actually at the Denver West location in Lakewood. The person I made the appointment with never told me it was a different location, and the check-in email I received did not list the address. I called the Denver West location to inform them what happened and that I was en-route to them, but would be a few minutes late. The woman I spoke to was extremely rude off the bat, and said I'd have to reschedule if I arrived more than 10 minutes late. I arrived at the front desk at 9:07 and was checked in by another person who was equally rude and immediately told me I needed to reschedule. I explained that the person I spoke to previously said I'd only have to reschedule if I was more than 10 minutes late, which I was not. I asked that they be more compassionate as I was never given the correct address in the first place, and wasted 45 minutes driving to two different locations that morning. I also informed her that I spent 25 minutes painstakingly completing their lengthy online check-in the night before, so shouldn't have any additional paperwork to fill out. None of that mattered and they said I'd need to reschedule. Now I'm going to run out of a prescription I've been on for ten years because of the incredibly unkind staff at this location. If this is the way they treat new patients, I have no desire to be a patient there. read more

I have had the absolute worst experience with your doctors' office and now even after the appointment, it continues. I scheduled with Dr. Rustici but they put me with Alexa Fuller instead for some reason. That's fine because I trusted she would be qualified. Dr. Rustici had sent me to get an ultrasound (which was REALLY expensive and ended up being totally unnecessary according to the ultrasound place) and then, of course, you guys had the results so you knew my IUD was very far up and needed professional assistance to remove. Yet, you scheduled me with Alexa. She said to me, "I don't have the experience to do this." That is the most terrifying thing you could hear from somebody who is holding sharp metal objects down there. She told me, "if I keep trying, you're going to get an infection." Then I asked her how long until we can reschedule and get this all figured out. She said, "we are a catholic-run organization so we still have to go through a few extra approvals in our headquarters to verify if birth control is actually necessary or not." Absolutely absurd. You do not bring religion into the room if I didn't ask you. And I told her, "I don't believe in religion so subjecting me to your beliefs and affecting my health is not fair." then she KICKED ME OUT. So as you can see, after all that, nobody even slightly removed my IUD and definitely did not put a new one in. I keep getting bills - $94 for the visit, $105 for the removal and reinsertion. I obviously got nothing removed nor reinserted. I paid the $94 but then called your billing department about the $105 and they said this is fair so they will remove the charge. Then a few weeks later I get another bill and a notification that this is being sent to collections. I tried calling your office over and over and over. Finally, somebody answered this past Tuesday on 6/18. She told me that no managers were in because there was a conference. She said that there is a way to remove this charge but only the manager knew how so she would make sure the manager called me no later than Friday. I KNEW you guys wouldn't call me back, given your track record of lies. So I asked her to promise me that somebody would call me that day with at least an update one way or the other given that you were about to screw over my credit score. She said she would figure it out herself and update me by the end of the day and then also make sure the manager touched base by the end of the week. Surprise, surprise - nobody called me that day, nor Wednesday nor Thursday nor Friday. It is now 6/23, the day this bill is due otherwise you send me to collections. However, you only allow payment by phone. So I call your phone line and I can't even pay just to get this nightmare over with: (a) no automated system (b) no voicemail!? The due date says 6/23/19. If you wanted me to pay by a weekday, the due date should have said 6/21/19. Given that you screwed up the following, I deserve to have this taken off my account and not sent to collections: THINGS THAT SCL HEALTH DID WRONG: * Rude at the front desk * Alexa Fuller saying she does not have the right experience - do not hire people and put them in an appointment without qualifications. Also, go back to school Alexa. * Never taking out my IUD * Never giving me the ordered IUD * Using religion to dictate medicine * Using religion as an excuse to without medical practices that I ask for * Charging me for services I didn't get * Telling me the charge would be taken off, then not taking it off * Again telling me the charges would be taken off AND that you would call me, then of course doing neither of these things * Not offering any automated way to pay the bill once I decided to just get it over with and get your scam office out of my life * Putting a due date on a Sunday and then refusing to accept payments on a Sunday By the way, I switched to HealthONE at Rose Medical Center and they took the IUD out and replaced it with a new one within 30 minutes flat. And they're more affordable, friendly, and professional. Maybe you should take a few tips if you want to try lasting in a competitive market. read more

I went to their Northglenn location with severe abdominal pain. I thought that this was an actual hospital, with inpatient treatment rooms. Only after they performed some ridiculously expensive tests was I told that this was not a real hospital, but just a stand-alone ER, with extremely limited services. I'm posting this as a warning to others. Before you go to any medical facility, find out exactly what kind of services they provide. And avoid stand-alone ERs completely. Crooked, crooked, crooked. Don't go there. You are literally walking dollar signs to them. Have a question? That will cost you $2000. Billing statement has an email address on it that does not go anywhere, they are apparently 'working to get it off the billing statements'. If you dispute a case, they don't let you know the progress of it at all. Be ready to spend HOURS on the phone with their billing department. Oh, and you will get multiple bills because even though you went to one doctor's appointment or walked into one ER, you must please understand that the people who work there are not affiliated with each other and they can each charge you for your visit. read more

If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. I recently went in to establish care with Dr. Melendez at the Thorton Colorado location after my doctor abruptly left the practice. Her nurse was rude and abrupt and Dr. Melendez was even worse. When I told her what I had been experiencing her response was "don't know what to tell you" and then she went off on some speech about the government allowing patients access to their records. She had me so upset I walked out and then they billed my insurance for a visit! A visit for what? For a doctor to not even listen to me and tell me she didn't know what to tell me. When I spoke to their office manager and complained she told me she would speak to Dr. Melendez and get back to me. She said "Dr. Melendez operates under own license". So apparently if you operate under you own license under the SCL health name, you can treat people however you want to treat them and then bill their insurance when you did absolutely nothing! I insisted on getting my $25 copay back which they did give me, but the office manager never called me back until today when I received a message that they won't be reversing their fraudulent office visit charge. AVOID ALL ALL COST SLC LARKRIDGE !!! Dr. Lisa Mullin was the BEST physician one could ask for. No one can blame her for wanting to leave this horrible place. I decided to go to her replacement Dr. Clair Shimke just to have 3 medications I have been on for years. Today after having to wait 1 month Dr. Shimke informed me " IT WAS AGAINST HER MORALS TO PRESCRIBE MY MEDICATIONS" Not that I was asking for pain medication mind you ! Why is she there in the 1st place ? What kind of physician would say that ? I can say the say the same. It is against my morals to pay the bill for services not rendered. This physician should have her medical license taken away. I was told by the office manager that apparently when you call you need to ask if the physician is licensed to prescribe medication . That is a new one. I am 60 years old and on disability. This is absolutely the WORST physician I have ever seen in my life. read more

I've been working with SCL and insurance agency for over a year to get this resolved. However SCL just sent my record to collection agency. Be super wary of their billing department's incompetence- they have straight told me lies about how much was due on my account and that they had successfully set up auto pay when they clearly did not and our account was sent to collections because of it. SCL FIRESTONE Kendra at the front desk is rude and disrespectful, she clearly is unhappy in her job. Came in early, she could not find me for appointment. Then she copped an attitude and argued I had just had blood work two weeks ago so it was too early. I guess they have a doctor manning the front since she is an expert on my chart. I have been disappointed by the performance of the office staff, SCL Health's central billing, and Dr Zoglo (Westminster office) for over 2 years now. I've given them ample opportunity to get their act together. I have finally had enough. Dr Zoglo treats me disrespectfully, and has done so on multiple occasions. He seems to be frustrated because he doesn't understand how to get my answers into the office's poorly designed computer system. This is NO EXCUSE to act disrespectful toward me though - I AM YOUR CUSTOMER. He actually held his hands to his temples (similar to a choking gesture) and said "URGH"...OUT LOUD...when I answered one of his questions during a pre-op physical. WOW, I was stunned! I would be fired if I acted like that toward a customer! I should have walked out right on the spot! The final straw? I have to pay over $400 (begrudgingly, just to get the phone calls to stop), due to erroneous billing to my insurance. My insurance has verified that they would gladly pay for the services provided, if only SCL Health would bill it under specific codes for the service provided (i.e. cancer screening, cardiovascular screening). However, SCL Health will not change the original code they used (a generic catch-all "physical" code). THEY JUST KEEP RESUBMITTING THE ORIGINAL CODE over and over again!!! I have been trying to get them to correct this for over 3 months now, and have called them on numerous occasions. I hope it was worth it to them because this will be the last penny SCL Health & Dr Zoglo ever see from me! read more

What a circus! Please dont use video visits! I had a migraine headache. Video assistant, dont know if Dr., dont know if nurse, dont know. the person recommended Northglenn facility ( half hospital) no covid patients. (that was a lie). i received ...this is how it was put to me....a medicine that is for nausia, but people say it helps there headaches. they put in in i.v. it did nothing. Then gave me dilotted. it helped for 2 hours , sent me home. Miserable all night into next day. the dr. called around 4 p.m. to see how I was, I told him, miserable! He said get to the E.R at Lutheran hospital or Good Samaritan. This is where it gets really bad. the dr. put in my chart to get an m.r.i. when i get put in a room at E.R. the nurse ( Katie, or Katherine L..) and Boone, P.A.. told me they will send me home with a prescription of valium, and tylenol. after i just told them tylenol did absolutley nothing. they told me that they were not going to give me an mri ( even though the other dr. ordered an mri. i argued with them saying why would i pay $488.00 to go home with a prescrption for valium? Isaid the Dr. ordered an mri!!! they told me, we dont use emergency rooms for express mri's!!!. i got the mri. i told the nice women in the mri room what the nurse and p.a. told me about using the e.r. for express mri's. they said, yes we do, they dont know what they are saying. the mri showed nothing of major concern to them. so when the nurse and p.a. came in to tell me that i had a ton of questions why im having such intense pain. the p.a. boone just left the room. the nurse katherine L., says to me..... you just want me to tell you that you,re gonna die!!! i said excuse me, what did you just say to me? she said, you just want me to tell you, you are gonna die! ...... i said, get me the "f***" outta here right now. the door was wide open, i ripped off my hospital gown, stark naked ( i did not care who saw me) i was furious!!! put my clothes on, marched my butt out of that hospital as fast as i could. this will not be the last of my mission to bring attention to this horrible treatment, trust me! And to twist a knife into this wound, it cost over $1000.00 ( I typed this review in Capital Letters , making a strong statement but it came out all small letters ) read more

My review is specific to the lactation and pediatric departments at Lutheran Medical Center. My son was born with a tongue tie, a lip tie, and buccal ties and as a consequence did not breast feed well. We saw lactation when he was a week old, again about a month later, and again at 3 1/2 months. At the first and second appointments the lactation consultant did not tell us he had a tongue tie and lip tie she only referred us for occupational therapy for mouth "tightness", which did not make sense to us. Due to this vague diagnosis and unclear reason for OT therapy we did not immediately pursue OT for our infant. When we finally did the OT told us she suspected a tongue tie but could not technically diagnosis it and referred us to a pediatric dentist who diagnosed it. By the time the oral ties were diagnosed and resolved our son was 2 1/2 months old and since it took so long to address he never really learned to breast feed properly and was still having issues. Hence we returned at 3 1/2 months. At this visit I asked why the lactation consultant had not caught the tongue and lip tie. She said she had but could not technically diagnosis these and thought we understood that mouth "tightness" meant oral ties. It sounded like due to institutional policies she was too scared to even say the words "tongue tie" out loud to patients. She explained that the pediatricians at Lutheran do not believe oral ties affect breastfeeding so she had to be very careful not to be seen as diagnosing these. If she had just explained to us she thought our son *might* have had a tongue tie and that she could not diagnose these and referred us to a pediatric dentist at our first appointment it could have been resolved early enough that he more than likely would have learned to breast feed with no additional interventions and my postpartum experience could have most likely been so much better. Instead we spent 2 1/2 month trying to figure out why he was not breast feeding well. We blamed our selves for giving him a bottle too early, stressed about his lack of weight gain, and I was beyond exhausted because I was triple feeding for months. Additionally, we paid for OT, an in-house lactation consultation, and rented a hospital grade pump. We also saw lactation at Saint Joseph Hospital and they also failed to diagnosis the lip and tongue ties. Bottom line is lactation services associated with hospitals are rendered incompetent by the medical dogma that oral ties do not affect breastfeeding and doctors having successfully preventing other medical professions from having the legal ability to diagnosis. Hire a private lactation service if you can afford it and they can be more frank with you. read more

This is a review of Dr Eric Whittier and SCL Health, as a company. I'm a senior on Medicare and watch every dollar. I have a few medications I have taken for several years. I also have an autoimmune condition for which I see a rheumatologist, monthly, for blood tests as I'm on a chemo type drug. Despite being seen by an MD, monthly, Dr Whittier cut off my refills, saying I had to come in and be seen. I didn't like it and I told him so. Medicare has a no copay exam called the Annual Wellness Exam. That is what I stated, in writing, THREE TIMES, I was coming in for. Before my fanny hit the chair, I lit into the doctor (AKA: Company man) for extorting out of me, a doctors visit. I also told him to make it snappy because I had FAR more important things to do that day. He took great umbrage at that, not that I cared. He then proceeded to ask questions and type them into his computer. Fine. Well, a couple weeks later, I get a bill. This bastard charged Medicare $332 for that visit and is demanding my regular copay. If I don't pay it, the bill will be sent to collections. That's how this company operates. Want your refills? Gotta pay for an appointment. Specify a Medicare appointment option with no copay? They'll change the coding, without even telling you, and threaten you with collections, if you don't pay. It's not a "healthcare provider," it's a for profit company out to gouge its customers (I've NEVER felt like a ''patient'') for every last cent. I understand...these people have mortgages, car payments...private schools and piano lessons for the kids! That doesn't come cheap and they have NO compunctions about scratching and clawing for every last dollar it can extract from its customers. I am investigating whether or not this is Medicare FRAUD. It's not the small copay...it's the principle of the thing. One expects this sort of treatment from shady car repair joints, not a medical provider. Changing doctors is a huge pain, particularly in the middle of treatment for a serious medical condition. One has to establish a trust factor, which takes time. Their MRI technician was cold and dismissive when I was having an allergic reaction. She claimed it was nearly impossible (looked up later it happens to 1 in 300 people) and I was just having a panic attack. I was anxious, but panic attacks don't make your throat itch. Their billing department has been unable to properly submit my last few claims. To add insult to injury, they "accidentally" sent my bill to a collection agency (harming my credit score) while I was doing their job and resubmitting the claim myself. read more

You'll go into a tiny room with an unvaccinated assistant who might just tell you or might say "I don't have to tell you if I'm vaccinated or not". so many problems; so much neglect. Patients are the last thing on their minds. I got a card from SCL saying I could come in early for my annual. I called and gal said "NO". I had to wait 13 months since my last annual, but doctor quit a few days before my long-awaited appointment. Never again. read more

I signed up for Medicare in June 2020.SCL Health requested me to visit a physician at Lutheran Medical Center for a wellness check and blood test(full blood panel)in order to have prescriptions transferred from my previous provide.I made the visit on August 4th 2020.Since then SCL Health continues to bill me $383 for a wellness check and blood panel covered by Medicare that I applied for in June 2020.SCL Health sends robocalls to my home daily with requests to call their billing dept.Customer service tells me that I am not responsible for the charges and assigns me a case number.I ask them to stop the robocalls and I was told that there was nothing they could do to stop them.I then continue to receive robocalls and I call SCL Health billing again with my insurance agent on a conference call.I am again told to both my insurance agent and myself that I am not responsible for the bill due to my Medicare plan and received another case number.I had also called the physician's office 2 times for an explanation of benefits report to SCL Health billing.I requested a stop to the robocalls and again was told there was nothing they could do about it.I continue to receive the robocalls and was sent another paper bill.I photocopied my Medicare card,health insurance card and my paid Medicare statements along with the case number given to me by SCL Health billing services and mail them to SCL Health billing service.I continue to get paper billing statements for $383 that I was already told by SCL Health billing services were not my responsibility.I will send them more documentation of my Medicare cards and premiums already paid.This is a very good example of why people are afraid to seek medical attention or visit a doctor for a problem that could seriously escalate later. read more

This organization is too big for itself - you are an ID number that gets lost in their many cracks. While physical treatment may be good, they have rampant problems with bureaucracy. I had a bill/issue that took 11 months for them to resolve as different sub-divisions kept passing the buck / refusing to take responsibility. And then when I had a new visit/bill, which I paid in full with their online system (physician division), I still got a call a week later asking for payment. Recently I moved to Golden.My son was getting some tummy pain at night. We went to Lutheran(Nearest to my apartment) and discussed with a doctor. We spent around 1-1.5 hrs over there. When my son felt good, we returned back to our home.Though we have insurance so did not much worry about emergency service room bill. This is in reference to SCL Health, Cherry Creek. Scheduled a video appointment. When I checked in online I was charged $59 even though my copay is $30. But I needed the appointment and it was online so I had no one to ask about it. So I paid the extra fee and THEY DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP TO THE APPOINTMENT (Gretchen Ravinsky). I called and they said they would cancel the payment, but they did not. I called back and after waiting over a half hour on hold (again) was told that there was nothing they could do. Very frustrated with SCL Health. I contacted the office because of the incorrect coding when submitted to my insurance and they refuse to change the coding. Now I'm stuck paying over a $300 bill. I have been a long-time patient at Foothills Family Medicine. I loved the staff and my drs. were great. I am on Medicaid and never had a problem. However, since merging with SCL and moving their offices, it has been horrible. I am in several medications. I submitted my renewal for one medication. Medicaid needed a pre-authorization. No problem, that usually takes a day or two. A week goes by. No pre-authorization. The office claims they've faced it in. Medicaid hasn't received it. Another week goes by with the office swearing up and down that they've sent it in numerous times. Medicaid still hasn't gotten the paperwork. I run out of the medication. I am off it for five days before, in desperation, I call the office again. I speak to Carrie, Carrie calls Medicaid, in 20 minutes my prescription is ready at the pharmacy. Round 2: I have another prescription which requires pre-authorization. Pharmacy sends info to SCL office. Office claims they've sent it to Medicaid. A week goes by. I call the office and they claim to have sent the paperwork in again. Medicaid never receives anything. I run out of my medication. On Monday I call the office, they've sent it in again. Medicaid never receives it. I ask SCL to put me through to Carrie. They state they can't because their computers are down, but they will give her the message. They don't. On Friday I ask SCL to contact Medicaid's pharmacy division directly to give a verbal pre-authorization so I can get my meds. I give the office the Medicaid phone number and explicit instructions, from Medicaid, on what they need to say and do. The receptionist says they will do it that day. They do not. In absolute desperation, today I called the on-call PA, who listened to what I have gone through and then said she couldn't call Medicaid on her day off and suggested I pay for a few pills out of pocket (this is a $1100 prescription). What? SCL has messed this up for 2+ weeks and now this person who's on call won't help because it's her day off? So now it's been almost two and a half weeks. This could be resolved by a simple call from SCL to Medicaid. It shouldn't have dragged on like this. And it's happened twice now. It's not Medicaid's issue, it's SCL's issue. The on-call PA's reaction was the worst. So much for caring about your patients. Update: I called again this morning. This time, I spoke to the office manager, who told me they don't call the Medicaid pharmacy office. They fax things. I told her that the faxes are either not getting through or are not being sent at all. Once again I gave all the information. Nothing, no response. I called this afternoon, spoke to yet another receptionist, gave all the same information, and stated this had to be taken care of today. Again, nothing. It has been close to three weeks now and I still do not have my medication. As I wrote, I used to love my doctor's office. Since being taken over by SCL, however, it's been horrible. read more

Crooks, went to the doctor , paid the bill upfront, got a call back telling me that their credit card system didn't work, then paid the bill over the phone then I kept getting bills and fees, then after the bill was paid in full, they increased their cost of services. I called them many times and they kept saying that my case is in review and that I will get a call back! read more
