This was during a joint well child check with two young children and me being a stressed parent wanting to touch base on a few things. Dr. Julian IS calm. She also graciously reviewed notes I had taken when our youngest was sick off and on for a few weeks. I was embarrassed because she could see my google search notes on the paper, but she didn't laugh or disregard me and took my concerns seriously. My whole family really likes her. We feel fortunate to be in her care.

It's as simple as that and doesn't warrant a 1 star review to them because your preferences don't match their life commitment to modern medicine. Dr. Ryan is always available via email if you have any questions about your kids. With our first, I was full of questions as most parents are and he was always so kind in his responses. I honestly prefer to reach out to him then call in and catch whoever is available (can be a hit or miss). I did have to call in once after hours about a concern and the doctor on call (neither Ryan or Bob) was a bit rude and condescending but I've never had to come across him again. Their staff for the most part is very friendly, I love their nurses. They are a bit archaic with technology but have just started automated confirmation via text or phone call with appointments. Their office doesn't look like it has been updated for 20-30 years, which honestly doesn't bother me. I am more concerned about my children's care then how beautiful and modern their building is. I'd say they're doctors for all the right reasons and that's why we take our children there.

I have never been Charged for so many "items above and beyond a well child check" prior to Primary…read moreHealth. We only came here to follow our pediatrician when saltzer closed, but we are not staying. We have had 5 (maybe 6) well child checks here, across my 3 kids... After 3 of these well child check visits (50-66%+) I was "surprise-billed." This is probably a huge issue everywhere to be honest, but it was never an issue for me prior to Primary, especially not at 50-66% of my visits... Of the 3 charges, I paid the one (after calling in to ask why) because I knew I had made the inquiry. One was waived after a few phone calls... But the most recent one was the breaking point... Our pediatrician pointed out, that for the first time in his life, my 9 year old had slightly crossed from the normal BMI range, into the "Overweight" BMI range. Her verbatim advice, that I am now paying $113 for, was "just means more movement and less treats like ice cream" . . . while we also discussed that at this age a growth spurt could be right around the corner which would drop him right back into the "normal" BMI... I have taken my kids to 26 annual well child checks, and the information discussed is literally their height and weight. But I was Never aware previously that the well child check was no longer a well child check if my kid's growth pattern had changed... aren't I literally using my insurance to have my kid's growth checked... After calling twice about this charge, it was confirmed to me that when your kid's BMI-range changes, they will be given a new diagnosis and you will be charged for an office visit. . . Parents need to feel safe going to a well child check - Drs should be required to say "this will be outside of your WCC if we continue to discuss it". - But they aren't require to say anything, instead, we as parents are required to sign that if our kid is treated for anything outside the scope of a WCC, we will pay for it. Slight changes to BMI being outside the scope of a WCC is beyond my patience. Hoping our new Pediatrician's office will do their part to stick within WCC visits when I go in for WCCs. Otherwise, I may be better off just paying for sports physicals and not using my insurance coverage for preventative appointments.

SHE WAS SO PATIENT, and truly listened to all my concerns/questions and didn't make me feel silly with not knowing certain things. I have had pretty horrible experiences in the past with doctors out of state, and so finding the right one that could understand that I'm a BIG BABY and just someone that didn't make me feel like another number was important. I ran out of refills for my CGM's (and didn't learn so until the one I had on expired) unexpectedly and my primary doctor was busy and unable to respond, so I urgently booked an appointment (for 15 minutes later) to request a refill. Upon checking in they informed me they wouldn't refill it, because I didn't have a primary care physician with them. The provider also came out and told the lady at the front desk that she can't because she doesn't want to deal with pulling my medical records and my diagnosis. I was clearly frustrated (because it's a life or death situation where I can't afford to go any amount of time not tracking my blood glucose just like all insulin-dependent type-1 diabetics) and asked why they wouldn't do that and if there was another primary health that would. The lady at the front very rudely snapped at me and said she doesn't know anyone that would refill my cgm and that I need my pcp or a dr that specializes in diabetic diagnosis (as if I need to be diagnosed again). Clearly seeing I was distraught at the danger this situation was presenting, she decided to make another snappy remark about the paper I was filling out. Wouldn't recommend going here unless you are in the mood to waste your time and money and risk your health. This clinic and their employees are an absolute joke, and I'm honestly very shocked they're completely fine taking on the liability of something like this all because the provider is lazy and incompetent.
