This is our local stop off point as its right near our house, its great if you only need a few…read morethings, not so good if you need to stock up the fridge. I think that its meant to be more of a convenience branch than a supermarket though as it stocks the basics that you need, without going to a huge supermarket. The prices are usual for sainsbury's not too cheap, but most of the stuff is fairly good quality. Recently, they have started stocking the sainsbury's basic range, which in my opinion is a good idea because its a very student based area, and not everyone can afford the prices, so this will attract more people. They have a small selection of magazines, toiletries, and cigarettes as well as the usual food and drink items. Staff are always friendly, but sometimes the other customers aren't. During busy times of day, its best avoided as the queues can get pretty big, though you usually still get served fairly quickly as all the staff jump on tills to get it cleared.
This branch of Sainsburys is classed as a Sainsburys Local. Initially I thought this meant it was a…read moresmall branch, but in fact it's about the same size as the Sainsburys in Yarm High Street, just a mile or so down the road. In fact, I think the 'Local' tag actually indicates that it's a sort of open-all-hours place. I think this one is open from 6am til 11pm every day. This is a nice little branch, well laid out and brightly lit. Staff are helpful and friendly. It's located at the end of the Orchard Shops, near the library. They stock a good range of products, but it really doesn't have as good a range as the Yarm High Street branch. Also, I notice that a lot of the prices are higher in the Local than in the High Street branch, even though they are both Sainsburys. For example, a 750 ml bottle of Sainsburys mineral water was about 59p at the Sainsburys Local, and the same bottle was about 34p in the High Street branch of Sainsburys.

Now that Sainsbury's have taken over Bells stores, this shop is packed with Sainsbury's bargains. Of course, a lot of the ranges you'd find in a larger Sainsbury's supermarket aren't available but it is only a small convenience store. And convenient it is! They stock every thing you might need on a daily basis, such as food, drinks, pet supplies, toiletries as well as tobacco and alcohol. Bells is ideal if you can't get to a larger supermarket with ease.
