The car park appears to be shared by the Civic Hall and includes a doctor's surgery, but you do get two hours of free parking which is surely enough to do your shopping. The store is a decent size, and the checkout staff were friendly. I had some issues scanning my gift card at the self-checkout due to the sunlight reflection making it difficult for me to read the screen, and the screen to read the product barcodes, but a staff member noticed the kerfuffle I was facing and offered assistance, without me having to ask him. The store was reasonably well stocked, but I was unable to find the Waitrose Free From crumpets that I had come in for. The store layout could do with some work, as the coffee on offer appeared to be separate from the rest of the coffee section, which made little sense, as it was in a different area of the store. PRO TIP: Bring your reusable cup and get a free coffee with a MyWaitrose card 3* - A decent supermarket, with many positives for sure including the staff but far from perfect, it would also be useful for the store to have evening openings past 20:00 during the week.

This store can be quite a nightmare to get to, being situated on a row of 5 or so roundabouts, especially when traveling in direction from North Manchester. This store has a small customer service desk, which is up to satisfactory standard yet could look much more welcoming and more like "the centre of the store" They was a Clubcard Machine, where you can print off vouchers and coupons however it seemed that it didn't work hence I couldn't log on and the problem was experienced by others as well, they was no staff around to know about it or even seem like it is being fixed. This store has a very big free from section, one of the biggest I have seen frozen-wise and helps to put many other branches (especially Middleton) to shame, their range was so big that is is worth traveling for and even includes some items that I can't even buy online at Tesco's website. They was a few disgusting things regarding this store, including an iced coffee, which was drank out of and then put back, drink was still in it, but they was not all of it left and it was open, I am glad I saw this before drinking out of it!!!! This store seems to be over 2 floors and is quite a nice store entering, with a standard Tesco looking including the yellow/ white colour flooring. I want to give this store 3 stars, mainly because of its' free from range and size, however I can't give any more because - The Clubcard machine was faulty - Customer Service could be slightly larger and more welcoming, especially for such a large store - The disgusting incident with the iced coffee - I have not had a good look around this store yet, as I just ran in to check the free from ranges while in the area.

Having been a secret shopper for many years, this is by far the worst service I have witnessed. At…read morethe till beside me a father and son were refused purchasing Alcohol because the father did not have ID, the son who was of age did. The situation was handled very poorly and I was appalled by how the cashier spoke to the customer as if they were children. After talking to other members of staff we were told that this is a regular occurrence. The behaviour of this staff member was unacceptable.

I Love this Aldi's!…read more Give the big name supermarkets a miss and come here first! This continental giant offers low cost, home brand, food and drinks, and always has an interesting selection of discount goods. I especially like it when they have offers on cycling equipment by Cranes, and bathmats and oversized paint brushes. Actually I mostly come here to get the frikadellens on the right hand side at the back of the fridge section. Tastes like Swedish meatballs, but in a burger shape! Parking is free for 2 hours, so come here, and then venture into the town centre too.

It is watched by 'Parking Eye' cameras, and you MUST record your reg. number on machines in the shop. Inside, it's cramped, congested and noisy, often with long queues, but can be worth it all for the money saved. The re-vamped Tesco Metro just up the hill is generally a more relaxed experience, but you'll have to pay to park!

Tesco Metro's Macclesfield location is the first "Metro" store I've found to be just around the…read morecorner (About 3/4 of a mile) from a larger Superstore, but still, this is a good Tesco branch if you're in Macclesfield town centre. While the product selection was good, I did find the free-from section to be a little lacking and I couldn't find all the items I was visiting for. The store, however, was clean and the staff seemed friendly, the checkout experience was pretty smooth and hassle-free. Great if you're in a hurry as this is in a good location within Macclesfield town centre, but obviously you can't do a full shop here so if you're buying many items you might want to go to the nearby Tesco Superstore. 3*
