Commuter-magnet close to South Ealing tube station, selling ready-meals, flowers, booze, and the bare essentials of everything else.
Hit it at peak time and the queue can go to the back of the shop. This doesn't mean a long wait, because they have lots of tills open at this time (in fact, I've had a longer wait at quieter times) but it does mean that almost a third of the shop is unbrowseable. Yes, that is a word, ok? (It's not). Always worth popping in after 9pm to see if they've got any almond croissants reduced to 20p.
There is also a large section devoted to cake-baking - presumably to cater for the Walpole Park/Carluccios yummymummy brigade - so if you need coloured icing at 10.45pm on a tuesday in South Ealing, you're in luck. read more
