They have a wonderful selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, some of my favourites include watermelon (a slice for 75p), huge ripe avocados, sprouts, melon grapes. This is the first place where I found salad sprouts - a common staple in the States - and they have a selection including broccoli, lentils and chickpea sprouts. They also have cool things like a selection of freshly squeezed apple juice, and quail eggs. Everything I have bought there has been in perfect condition, with a sell-by date well in advance of anything I find in the supermarkets. Everything is also hugely cheaper than at Sainsburys or Tescos, even half price in many cases. In this day and age, its also refreshing to have the opportunity to pick and choose, and only buy what you need - hard to find as everything is prepackaged now. I don't have a single bad thing to say about the place and I encourage everyone who lives in the area to check it out.

They have a far bigger range of goods too, salads, sandwiches and soups for lunch, chilled and prepared food, jams, preserves, cheeses, hams, homemade cakes and chocolates, corkscrews and linen for the table. Last time I was in there they were playing some jolly, very Christmassy and very twee music (it was November but I bet they started playing it on the first cold day in August) and the whole place smelt amazing. I managed to buy a nice chickpea salad but forgot to enquire as to the name of the band playing in the background. I was thinking maybe for my grandmother or maybe if I was having a very bad day...

Bayley and Sage is a beautiful idyllic village grocery store. It's almost like stepping back in…read moretime to an era of fresh produce straight from the locals farms with friendly local service, the only thing stopping you from believing you've slipped back in time is the contemporary style to the shop. They are also a little more upmarket than your typical grocery store. There's lots of organic produce, lots of gourmet foods and a wide selection of wines. The prices you pay reflect the quality of the products and produce you're buying but it is great and I love it. The staff are friendly and helpful and it's definitely better than heading to your local Tescos.

It has a cafe, a currency exchange, mini branches of Argos, Habitat and upstairs a Tu clothing range. Fresh food counters include a Bakery, Deli, Fish Counter, Hot Food Counter, Meat Counter, Pizza Counter and a Sushi Bar. There's also a homewares and small electricals section, which runs as far as selling TVs. On my visits, I've always found the checkouts to be a little slow, and the Tu store could with a few more staff (the men's formal shirts section was s bit of a mess). Otherwise, it's good for a one-stop grocery shop.

The grocery side of the store is mostly unchanged. Standard big Sainsbury's on that side. However, it now also has home accessories, small appliances, etc. on the ground floor and clothing upstairs. The whole place is a bit shinier and seems to be keeping up with the improvement the whole area has been getting as its across-the-street neighbord Southside improves & expands.

In the past I've had very good experiences here with helpful staff members finding and/or enquiring about having/ordering particular items. Very big for the usual size of Waitrose in London. Also handy for grabbing a bit of a snack before heading upstairs to the cinema! ;)

This is my local "big" Waitrose (as opposed to the small one opposite Wimbledon station)…read more It's not actually as large as it looks from the outside, being rather sandwiched between Alexandra Road and the railway line. But it has everything you are likely to need for a weekly shop, and includes a fresh fish and deli counter. The entrance area has a small gardening section, stocked seasonally (so bulbs in the autumn, seeds in the spring, etc), alongside a decent cut flower section. There's a generous car park, though road access is slightly fiddly with a steep, sharp curve onto a narrow access road (drive slowly). Pedestrian (level) access is directly off Alexandra Road near the 156/493 bus stops, with a lift and stairs.

Very poor customer service at this store today. The cashier let a queue of three customers build up…read morebehind the one she was serving, then after finishing with her current customer declared "I'm closed !". Surely if she was closing her till, which of course has to happen at some point, she might have pointed this out to further customers joining her queue instead of wasting the customers' time.

There's the standard range of low-cost fare along with an ever changing set of special offers (sometimes quite eclectic). Highlights for me are fresh food and cleaning products - good quality and low prices. It has its own in store bakery, though they often seem to sell out really quickly at weekends of fresh bread. The main irritation is the slowness of the tills at busy times - moral: try and avoid busy times.
