The boat parade route started from Crissy Field and ended near Pier 39. I viewed the event from Crissy Field East Beach while picnicking on the soft sand with blankets on hand on this breezy day, with periods of sunshine creating a beautiful atmosphere. It wasn't crowded, but there were definitely a good number of viewers, young and old, who had come out to enjoy the show. A combination of powerboats, yachts, and countless sailboats made their way across the water in an orderly fashion, amusing viewers on the shoreline. The 2026 theme was "myths and legends", though many of the vessels did not appear to be dressed up. In fact it was a very laid back event, no music or fancy displays. Most boats had sailed by during the first hour, though there were still a few stragglers after that, the event definitely not two hours long as noted by PICYA. I had a good time, got to relax on the beach while enjoying the surrounding scenery, even after all of the lovely boats had passed by. And it didn't cost a thing to attend.

Through the several weekends of instruction there was never a question I could ask too dumb for him. (The patience is impressive). As for the location. The Bay really seems to be one of the best places in the world to sail. There are beautiful blue waters and lots of places to sail to. I am very excited to now be able to rent their boats for a weekend outing. Thanks Spinnaker!

He was very much about letting me learn from my mistakes while ensuring we were always safe. I had a couple of other instructors while at Spinnaker, but I learned far more from Andy than any of the others. I was able to ask questions on the why and history, that others left to the text book. I would highly recommend Andy if you are looking for refresher courses or a skilled captain for hire.

Andy could not have been a more wonderful instructor and captain. He was patient and thorough with an excellent syllabus and exceptional attention to details. We absolutely gained the skills and knowledge needed to safely handle our boat and navigate the San Francisco Bay and Delta. He gave us exercises to demonstrate to him and to us that we knew what we are doing and helped us learn how to work together as a couple; skipper and crew. As a bonus, we got great tips about many of the places we are likely to visit and we look forward to a summer of good times with friends in our boating club. If you are brand new to boating as we are or you need to get checked out in a larger vessel to satisfy the insurance company happy, Andy can help you and you will enjoy the process. For us, this is just the beginning of learning; we want to take advantage of even more that Andy can offer. We plan to get some practice with the initial skills we have gained and then return to Andy for more advanced instruction and higher levels of seamanship. Our wish list includes trickier areas for navigation and ultimately trips beyond the Golden Gate to Drakes Bay and Monterrey and maybe even a trip to Mexico. If you want to learn in a solid and confidence building way; first time boater, stepping up in size, or advanced skills, call Andy.

Having been my family's first time, I was delighted to find the crew and experience very amicable, friendly and accommodating! :) the sailboat is large and comfortable with below deck areas (full bedroom, bathrooms, dining etc) as well as a seating area on top. Comfy secure area to walk around while sailing. Everything went very smoothly. From Reservations to sailing! :) I will definitely keep hasty heart in mind for our next sailing desire. We are thinking of making it an annual tradition. ;) Thank you for a great trip and wonderful memories!

Sitting in the comfortable cockpit with your favorite people being served tasty drinks and appetizers by the friendly crew as you pass under the Golden Gate Bridge, past The City, Alcatraz and Angel Island and returning to the Mediterranean style village of Sausalito makes for a terrific, very special experience. Hasty Heart used to be the private yacht of the family who owned the Mark Hopkins Hotel and it is now available for charter by the same Captain and his family. Their stories about the yacht are fascinating. I highly recommend spending a little more than the big group boats or the small sailboats and experience sailing the bay and beyond on this smooth sailing, luxury yacht away from the crowds and on top of the world.

I fish for salmon almost every weekend during the summer, and most of what I know about salmon…read morefishing I've learned over the past 12 years fishing from my own boat. So, for the first time, I decided to see how the professionals do it. I chose Chasin Crustacean because this boat consistently gets early limits. I know this firsthand--I've watched him leave the fishing grounds with his customers while I was still working on catching my first fish. I'm happy to say he exceeded my expectations. We got our limits and were headed back to the dock by 9:30 a.m. I'd recommend fishing with Captain Christian to both first-timers and seasoned salmon fishermen. The Chasin Crustacean has plenty of room to fish and rides very smoothly. I used a TLD reel and Seeker rod, and all of the equipment--including the line, leaders, hooks, and bait--was in excellent condition. Christian also runs a much larger boat, the Outer Limits, which can accommodate up to 22 people compared with the six-person maximum on the Chasin Crustacean. I've also fished on the Outer Limits, and it's an amazing boat. It's a large catamaran that is incredibly comfortable--much more comfortable, in my opinion, than the monohull boats used by many other charters. If you get seasick like I do, I strongly recommend a catamaran. The stability makes a big difference. Christian has a great attitude and treated everyone in our group with patience and respect. As someone who spends a lot of time salmon fishing from my own boat, I went into this trip with pretty high expectations, and Christian delivered. I'm already looking forward to my next trip.

Prior to my first time going up with work this summer to the American River on our annual…read morecamping/rafting trip, I heard a ton of stories of visits past... boats flipping over, getting stuck under the raft and nearly drowning in the rapids, one guy trying to save himself by clinging onto a kayaker and getting beaten off with an oar. So of course I was pretty excited. Not to mention scared shitless. I ended up, however, having the time of my life. Seriously, you all need to go rafting once in your lifetime. I didn't even fall in! Though now I kinda wish I did, it looked like fun. One of my boatmates did... haha... so we had just entered a Class III rapid called "Troublemaker" when a jolt sent him flying head first into that freezing ass whitewater. He was swept down the river alongside our boat in for a good couple minutes before we hauled him back on the raft. It sounds scary, and it was, but it was DEFINITELY classic! For my awesome experience that I thought I might not live through, I have Inner City Outings, the guide team that takes my work group through the American River every year, to thank. ICO's Bay Area chapter is a nonprofit program that takes groups on whitewater rafting trips that otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it (like other nonprofits, such as the one I work at). It's part of the Sierra Club and was the initial program of all ICO, which is now nationwide and offers lower-income and disadvantaged groups a chance at participating in lots of fun outdoor activities. The kicker is that ICO is COMPLETELY volunteer-run... I couldn't believe it when all of our river guides (ranging from high school kids to people who had been with the agency for over 10 years) said they did all this for free. Now that's love! It's truly an amazing program. If you are part of or know of a group that you think would qualify to be taken out an ICO river tour, definitely check them out at their website (http://ico.sierraclub.org/sfbayrafting/volunteer.htm). Also, since the life of their program depends on the work of volunteers, they're always looking for new guides. If you're down for the cause, love the water, and have some free weekends next summer, inquire about their training program.
