Just finished my beautiful swan tattoo!!
Valerie M.

The only person I want to tattoo me is Mags, I have no desire to ever have anyone else tattoo me. I have two tattoos and both were done by Mags and they are absolutely what I wanted and they were done with tremendous artistry and skill. The first one was done in 2013 at a different shop, it was my first tattoo, even though it was done at a different shop it is still hers, the second one however was started in 2015 and it is beautiful and exactly what I wanted. For the one started in 2015, I told her I wanted a tattoo inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling" and I gave one reference picture of a drawing that had an element of what I was looking for. The sketch that I got back far surpassed any expectations or thoughts I had, the sketch was beautiful and it is even more beautiful on my ribs. The tattoo is not finished I have one session left, and I will update it afterwards but even though it is 2/3 complete I still receive a lot of compliments. In regard to the professionalism of Mags I appreciate the fact that she has been doing this for a very long time and she is fully aware of the limitations that are inherently present in tattooing as an art form especially on the body parts that you wish to get tattooed. What she presents as the sketch she can do and she does it very well, and they are proportioned perfectly and what ends up on your body is what she sketched. She is also really good at recognizing the limits of the body that is being tattooed and will take a break when needed, what is also really nice is that she tattoos in sync with your breathing which, for a rib tattoo, is incredibly helpful. Overall, Sailor Beware Tattoo is amazing and I recommend her to anyone and everyone who will listen to me.

If you want a high grade tattoo and an equally high quality tattoo artist then this is the place for you. I couldn't be more happy with the work Mags did for me, she is an amazing artist and I feel lucky to have some of her unique work on me. I have added an image of my sleeve in the photo section, it's the one of the Bastet pinup, I also sport the leg piece of the Elven Queen/warrior with the red cape and golden hair.

LOVE my tattoo by Mags!

Mags is the best! It's been over 3 years since I got my first tattoo by Mags and I get compliments on it all the time. Of all the tattoo artists I've been to and know, she's the only one I recommend. She is a true artist! You too can have a real work of art that you'll always love, if Mags does it for you.

I had been thinking for a year about what i wanted to get. When I first spoke with Mags, i had a better idea, but was unable to describe it. Mags nailed it. She designed a tattoo for me that was even more beautiful than i had envisioned. The environment was comfortable, and relaxing. Equipment was way above the standards of cleanliness and safety. I am always a bit nervous when getting work done, and she made me feel at home, and at ease. I didn't want the night to end! If you are looking for quality work, this is the place for you. She designs pieces that are beautiful, and reflective of who you are! I will be getting more work done here!

Bamboo tattoo by Mags. Gave her a basic idea of what I wanted and she came up with this awesome design.

Ok. A friend of a friend had a opening night photo exhibit here so I made this page, made a Yelp…read moreevent, all in the hopes of getting people to the show because the photos were that cool. And now a review of the space, because like the photos, this place is that cool and now, I have a better understanding of what it's all about, sort of. So the place has been open for about 5.5 months. A warm inviting storefront with the inside filled with local artist inspirations. Prices range from the Wow! That will look kick ass in my place (for the most frugal shopper) to Wow! That will look kick ass in my place! (for the person with some deep, pockets). Everything that's sold are one-of-a-kind pieces and are quite amazing. From paper mache' sculptures (definitely worth checking out) , New Zealand reclaimed wood tables, low temp fired ceramics, paintings with prices all over the spectrum and of course, photography and more. The cool thing though is that with the gallery owner, Nance, has space in the back which could be used for other events besides showings. Not big events, but smaller ones and obviously you would need to talk to her about what your trying to do but she came off as pretty cool and open to ideas. Nance has history of doing things in the city around the arts scene and if you've been to Macy's for their holiday display, you've seen her work. This part of West 7th (3-4 block area?) is really starting to pop and one could park in the middle and walk around, eat, drink, and shop their way to the different businesses and this place, is definitely worth a stop.

This is a gem of a place. Eclectic and filled with a mix of vintage clothing/scarfs/purse/shoe…read morefinds, whimsical art, handmade jewelry, paintings, sculptures, great photographs- all which are local artist and you can take things home for a price. I stopped to check out a show that displayed a local photographers work (Gorgeous stuff filled with depth and emotion!) The store has a stunning back room with tall painted ceilings that was perfect for an artist debut.

Fun space! Known…read moreusually as the A|Z Gallery, it's located on the ground floor of the Tilsner Artists' Cooperative in St. Paul, kitty corner from the Farmer's Market. They've got an ever-changing collection or art, seemingly from local artists. With room for all types of hanging art, and larger pieces in the center of the room, the A|Z Gallery looks like it would be a great party atmosphere to host openings. I've never been, and frankly don't know if they do that, but the location looks fit for it. Parking is hit or miss; not many street options now with the surrounding roads dug up for the Central Corridor project, but you can take advantage of the Farmers Market lot (if not already occupied) or the Tilsner lot itself. I honestly don't know if you have to pay for those two...but I've never been towed.

Not sure if I am qualified to write a review on an art gallery, but I'll try anyways. You see,…read morethis was my very first "art gallery experience" so I have no comparisons. Except for the "art show" that my friend's children set up in a corner of their room....so, yeah. AZ Gallery was holding an event - A Midwinter's Dream - that featured local women artists and their various crafts. Everything was represented there from homemade candles and perfume to photography, shadowboxes, and jewelry. To be honest, much of the reason we went was to support a couple of friends at the show. Wandering around the space was easy and fun - I had a great time talking to each artist, some were members of the gallery, others were guests of the gallery. And the members of the gallery were super nice too. The gallery did a great job of laying out the space so that it didn't feel too crowded either. I can't tell you much more about the gallery, hours, trivia, or anything else really useful. But, if you see another event of theirs pop up, be sure to check it out! They do know how to host a nice party and they have some great artists.

Amazing art from (mostly) local artists - stop in and check it out!…read more Wow, this space is packed with beautiful stuff from talented people!!! Words can't do it justice. You have to checkout my photos. Or even better, you should stop in and look in person. I'm calling the gallery itself 5 stars. The artwork is incredible and the displays are very nice. Everything is laid out nicely. I'm calling the customer service 2 or 3 stars. We were both pretty disappointed. I'm averaging the entire experience out to 4 stars. The manager or the "DIRECTOR" was a combination of disinterested, stand-off-ish, unfriendly, and snobby. She was far more interested in assembling a new display with another staffer than talking to us. She couldn't be bothered to greet us or to help us or to discover our interests, guide us, or use any professional customer service skill set whatsoever. Bummer. Everything has a price on it, right? Everything is for sale, right? I hunted her down a few times to ask questions but I felt like I was bothering her. And the other person never said a word to us. Oh, well. We walked out without opening our wallets. This is the kind of experience I expect from snobby people in Downtown Minneapolis. One of the big reasons I drive all the way to Hudson, Wisconsin is to avoid this type of thing and to deal with real, down to earth, friendly people. Ooops, not here though! I'm glad I stopped in but I probably won't be back to this one unless I see a different person working inside. And if I buy something, I'll track down the individual artist on social media and buy it directly from them. -Daddy Maxx Retro

I'll admit I haven't met or gotten to know the new owners and staff due to the pandemic, though I look forward to doing so. So appreciative of the new owners taking on a new business at such a difficult and keeping an amazing gallery in Hudson! The person who I do know at Seasons is Rachel. This is where I met her and now consider her an a friend. She has helped me find the perfect gifts and art for years! I'm not a huge buyer of incredibly expensive art. But she has sent art home for me to try in my space, helped me pick out frames for prints, even come out and helped me hang art. Thank goodness for her continuity there! And her wonderful shows! They are an incredible amount of work to set and video. I will be back more as things normalize!
