Pho bowl with a little bit of everything, and my spring rolls. I think the bright red things are reflections of the light...

I liked this pho place tucked in Calgary's Chinatown. The servers were friendly and unlike at many Asian restaurants, actually came by to ask how we liked the food. Found a rather good deal for pork spring rolls too, $3 for 2 long rolls. I had the pho bowl with everything in it (forgot what it's called unfortunately) and it was on point. Surprised by how peppery the meatballs tasted, but liked them nevertheless.

It was decent- but the service didn't blow my skirt up or anything. It was cheap and average. Lots of tv's...so not a real intimate space.

My family went to the same pho restaurant for +10 years and one day we went and my niece said "oh…read moreno the broth is different" and we were all so sad that the taste of our fave things had changed. A few months later in Calgary Reddit I saw a tip that restaurant had links to Pho Han. We immediately came here and (cue heavenly chorus) my niece immediately gave the broth two thumbs up!! The portions are awesome, prices are great, the flavors popping and the service is amazing. We had kids spill all over the table and they were so gracious. Delivery has been perfect too.

Upon entry we were greeted by Michael ( later introduced ) his friendly and polite manner made a great impression and made us feel welcomed! Menu is extensive like most other Vietnamese restaurants, but we decide to try the basics; No. 1 House Special - broth is perfectly well balanced with herbs & spices, cuts of beef were all high in quality & quantity! Pho is cooked al dente! A perfect 10! No. 19 Hu Tieu Nam Vang - a pork based soup with shrimp, sliced pork, minced pork, quail eggs with clear noodles .. love the way they torched the sliced pork belly to give it that extra charred flavour! Its unique flavour is enhanced with a touch of sesame oil, add your fresh chilli to give it that extra kick!! I have added Pho Han on my Calgary list of top restaurants! Will be back when I am in town again!!

The restaurant was pretty spacious and not very busy on a Saturday late afternoon. The place however was a little warm inside, maybe the AC wasn't working as they had some fans on. We ordered the vermicelli dish and pad Thai as the staff told us it was their most popular dish. The pad Thai was indeed one of our favorite. It had a unique smoky flavor to it. We also ordered the pho and eggplant dish. The pho had a surprisingly rich flavor. I would definitely recommend the pho. Overall we were very pleased with our meal and left full with hardly any left overs.

Being a vegetarian, I have had a hard time getting pho that's flavorful but the chefs here have magic in their hands, they have put so much heart and effort in packing so much flavor in their broths! I had the Sate Tofu Noodle Soup, ah can't get the taste out of my head!! Such richness, the freshness of the house made tofu paired with soft rice noodles was just beyond perfection!! The Pad Thai was also delicious: it missed one thing: crushed peanuts which we usually get at Thai restaurants. The restaurant has a very calm and peaceful auto to it!!! Full of large plants and a meditation area, it's a nice getaway from the corporate hustle outside. The place closes at 8, so reach early.
