I was very excited to see this market recently opened close to my home because the few very…read moresatisfying occasions I've been able to shop there, the greatest hindrance was distance. Why would I even bother if other markets are available closer? The items on the shelves--specifically, locally produced Cebollas Honey from fantastic FabensTX--and other "healthy/organic" products, combined with excellent prices. As it is the most recent store to open, and it was not trapped within a maddening mall, I definitely wanted to investigate. It's location on George Dieter & East Glen, immediately South of the USPS office, is quite convenient. (motor)vehicle parking is behind, off East Glen. And the roads have been resurfaced--very nice! It has good pedestrian access (steps only, no ramps) from George Dieter, and no bicycle racks (yet). Leaving my eBikeKit-assisted CruzBike outside the automatic doors, I went inside this much smaller store than the massive stand alone Vista Market much farther away East in North Zaragoza. Obviously, this meant fewer items were available. My quest was not for the wonderful Cebollas Honey, but for Mac & cheese. I was initially disappointed to not find any, but I just needed to look more intensely. I did find it, though Not clearly identified, and I was definitely disappointed at the lack of variety of available--and I was even more disappointed at the higher prices. I also saw a more expensive (than the competition) roasted chicken, but it was a much larger bird. Despite my concern that this might be a factory farmed (i.e., not free range) chicken that was huge because it had been fed a steady diet of drugs, I took solace i the knowledge that Vista Markets is interested in satisfying their customers and would sell wholesome products. (I have since sampled this well-cooked bird; so far, so good!) Perhaps the finest aspect of my experience in this market was cashier Estefania.(FIVE stars for her!) With my four items (3 mac & cheese, 1 pollo), I saw that the checkout line wasn't long at all, but the one customer ahead of me had a cart full of items. Fortunately, Estefania saw this and waved me over to her checkout stand. This extremely pleasant young woman very quickly got me through and out the automatic door, ready to hop on my bike. Besides no bike racks, I noted the smaller access zone, almost like an alleyway, which was a bit full of shopping cart corral and exterior seating. On a warmer day, I can see many customers enjoying eating/visiting/smoking out here. I did not see outlets available for sitters to plug in electric devices, nor butt kits, but I didn't look for those either. Overall, a satisfying experience here; I'll return, and it gets my "iWheel of Approval!"

Sadly the pricing reflects the fact that you're in El Paso. Nearly double what you'd pay at a Chinese market. So that stinks. It beggars can't be choosers. Some of the items didn't look too fresh and it was a little dusty in some spots. So not a lot of rotation of products. But overall was happy to grab some dumplings and egg rolls!

The crayfish were in little net bags, I did see movement so I grabbed 4bags. 3.3lbs of those were dead. The cashier failed to give us our clams, I called them when we got home she apologized for "forgetting to give us our bag". We live far west and in traffic the drive is over 30mins. The Manager eventually joined the call and told me I had to pick up my clams that day (we wouldn't even have made it in time as they were about to close) or I would lose my money because that was our responsibility. I asked if he could just give me a credit for the dead seafood and the clams they kept. I took a video of the dead crayfish and weighed them in a scale. He absolutely refused and became hostile on the phone. I told him I would call my bank, and take to social media so consumers would know who they are dealing with. They kept taunting me and deleting my comments. He posted a sign about bags and posted that on TikTok, then also posted something stating "if you don't know how to handle live seafood, don't buy it". I have lived on the coast for a large part of my life and I'm very familiar with handling seafood. This is incredibly childish and unprofessional. The amount for these items totaled approximately $40-50, I spent almost $200. I honestly didn't see a big deal. I told them I would never return, their response was "THANK GOD!".

A cashier was talking with a another man, the only 2 people in store, no acknowledgement, no greeting as I walked in, completely ignored by worker. I had to walk navigate around the clutter, finally found quail eggs the fridge it was in was barely cool, date was blank. Took a chance, and took it to the register, the cashier was sitting and texting, ignoring me...I turned to leave, when he finally stood up and rang up the eggs. In middle of transaction, he calls someone to start chatting. He just stood at register, and I stood there, waiting for my change and receipt, took him like 15 seconds, he finally reaches into register to give me my change. Did not tell me "thank you" , he didn't say anything to me, at all. It smells of bad fish and looks depressing, I love my doggy and will do anything for her, but I will NEVER go into this depressing place, again!

Having just returned from Japan, walking through the store brought back a lot of great memories. It has that familiar atmosphere, with a wonderful selection of imported products that can be difficult to find elsewhere in the area. The store carries an impressive variety of Korean and Japanese ingredients, snacks, frozen foods, beverages, and fresh produce. Their prepared food section is also worth a visit. The Korean dumplings are outstanding, especially the glass noodle dumplings, which are among my favorites. They also offer delicious japchae, kimchi jjigae, and many other ready-to-enjoy Korean specialties. The store recently came under new management, so unfortunately the 10% military discount is no longer available. Some imported items are definitely on the expensive side, but that is to be expected with specialty products shipped from overseas. Overall, I still find the pricing to be fair, particularly considering the quality, authenticity, and selection. What truly keeps me coming back is the customer service. Marianna and Beth are always welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. They take the time to answer questions, recommend products, and make every visit enjoyable. So, If you're looking for authentic Korean or Japanese ingredients, prepared meals, or simply want to experience a taste of East Asia, Arirang is absolutely worth a visit!!!
