The food is spicy by default so if you don't like spicy make sure to let them know and they will accommodate. This is my go to place for take-out when i don't feel like cooking. The portions are huge!!! I always have leftovers. I usually get the butter chicker with nan bread. I think just the nan bread is already worth the trip. The sauce for the butter chicken is not very thick, which goes great on rice too. read more

Came here with a work group. Place was clean and food was pretty tasty. Ordered a spicy chicken dish but it wasn't all that spicy. Ambiance was good but service was a bit slow. Despite this the naan was great and food was good enough that I will return. read more

The food is really good, especially if you love Indian curry. Unfortunately, this restaurant's flaw is in the speed of the service. While our waiter was very nice and attentive, it took over 2 hrs to get our food from the kitchen. If that can be fixed, I would completely recommend this resturant...but now no. I've sat inside to eat a few times. Comfortable and clean with friendly service. Most of the time I order to pick up, which I did tonight. I live about 30 minutes away but make the trip because I've never been disappointed with my order and it's always still hot when I get home. Congratulations chef (s)! I have ate the lunch buffet at this place several times. Qutstanding Indian food for what you would expect on a buffet. Definetly better value than the burger type joint with overproced beer across the street. I think it was about 13 bucks for lunch. read more

This is a good option for Indian food lover at lunch time for their all you can eat buffet. The buffet section is very small but the selection is decent and they refill quickly. The must-eat butter chicken and Naan bread are good, but the beef and lamb meat are a little on the tough and dry side. Nice place and proper service. read more

Went on recommendation from a friend because it was near the hotel I was staying at and I love Indian food. Had the lunch buffet. It was small, not a lot of choices, the usual Indian regular stuff. But seriously delicious. I will warn you it's packed at lunch, but most are in and out quickly. Service isn't over the top but plates were quickly cleared and water always filled and well it's a buffet. The fact is most people are on lunch break and they are trying to accommodate that. The staff there is constantly moving. There were moments there was a line up at the buffet (like I said its small and in a small enclosed area) but two minutes later it's clear again. Been going to Sahib for years and I have never had a bad experience. The food has always been great, and when we do pick up it has always been ready on time. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. When it's crazy busy the service can be slow but I don't mind. I have sometimes sat at the the bar with my husband for happy hour and ordered food there and I get the same great service. If you're in the West Island check this place out! read more

Owner is extremely rude for no reason. I have wanted to eat here forever even asked a friend what i should get. I ordered my food over the phone for carryout. The price was higher so i called back and told the man. He had charged me for channa samosa instead of vegetable samosa. We went to pick it up and because i used a gift card he did not give us the 10 percent offered for carry out. I called back and started to ask him and i was rudely hung up in my face. Then i called back asked him why he did that he said well you are lying telling me i overcharged you . I explained to him he did since he charged me for something i didnt ask for then i told him where does it say i dont get ten percent with a gift card. He was rude and said come i will give you your two cents and continued to be insulting and degrading. The food might be good but i did absolutely nothing for this man to treat me this way. I just asked for what they advertise. A big shame because my excitement and gift is wasted. I tried speaking with him like an adult but he just acted like a child. read more

Probably one of the better indian restaurants in the west island. Was here for the weekend lunch buffet. A fairly large selection of dishes was on offer. My favourite was probably the lamb and the bhindi. The chicken pakoras were pretty disappointing as were the samosas. The was pretty hard and did not seem that fresh. Overall a pretty solid buffet for under 20$ with tax and tip. The service was great. read more

For amazing vegetarian food and samosas, I go to Pushap's. For everything else, I go to Sahib. I have only eaten at the restaurant once or twice, but I frequently do take-out and I have only had one disappointment in the last five years (a very watery and tasteless chicken madras, ordered late on a Sunday evening), so I have to give them a major thumbs up for such a good track record. I don't ever order butter chicken because I find that it's too sweet, and why eat sweet tomato sauce when there are so many better things to order?! I absolutely adore their chicken madras, and that is what I order 9 times out of 10. It's got a mild spiciness that I enjoy, and I love the little black seeds that crunch in my teeth. The sauce is so good that I always order two naan breads so I can soak up every last bite. One take-out order of chicken madras and two naan breads will give me three meals, four if I order other things on the side. Once in a while I mix it up and order the chana masala, which while not as good as Pushap's (just my opinion), is still fricking delicious. The bhoona is good too, and the onion bhajias are my favourite of all their appetizers. If you want good food and don't want to deal with waiters and/or somewhat lackluster ambiance, seriously, pick your food up to go, light some candles and break out the beer (Indian beer with Indian food is a match made in heaven) and you'll have a sumptuous, tasty and fulfilling meal all in the comfort of your own home. read more

This is my first ever review, but I was so disappointed I had to write one. It has been at least 7 years since I had been to Sahib for lunch. I was always very satisfied so I decided to go for dinner with my girlfriend. We are vegetarians and were looking forward to the nice selection of vegi meals. The eggplant we ordered was smothered in a creamy bland sauce with no real taste, The black lentils sauce was heavy with no spices. There was no hint of the almond and cashew flavor in the vegetable Korma that was supposed to have a Almond and cashew sauce. Just heavy cream. Very disappointing. You know it's bad when your still hungry but don't want to eat any more of the food you still have left. I love Indian food and hope to find a good one on the west island of Montreal. This is Indian food brought down to it's most bland level. read more

I have been going to Sahib for years. Last week I went with a group of friends from work and I found the butter chicken even more delicious than usual. The naan could be fluffier. And the vegetables less mushy and soft. But overall the flavours are delicious...except for one problem. The raita was gooey and slimy when picked up with the naan. I was eating it wondering if I was going to be sick today. And sure enough, todayI have been running to the toilet all morning! This happened once before about 2 years ago. The watermelon was fizzy and slimy. It is obvious that after the food has been out on the buffet table it is recycled for the next meal. And possibly the next or mixed with some that is fresher to extend it. This is how food becomes contaminated. Consider that buffet food has maybe over 100 people passing by it breathing, talking, coughing etc.. Buffet food, especially protein foods like meat and raita, should be thrown in the garbage after having sat out for 3 - 4 hours...yes, even if you feel it has been kept hot or very cold as required. The butter chicken was very, very hot which I never recall it having been in the past. But the raita was not cold at all. I am sure that same raita was served the next day and people will get sick from eating it. I am tempted to call the 'Inspection des aliments de Montréal'. read more

Just came back from eating lunch at their buffet. My daughter had only a small plate of butter chicken in which she found 2 strands of black hair. At first, we were told by our waitress that it was due to a fibrous vegetable that looks like hair, although it wasn't even present in the dish. At this point, the hair was no longer in the dish as my daughter was disgusted by it and threw it on the floor. We decided to speak to the manager, who told us we were making things up and we were told to search for it on their dirty carpet. Then, he stated it could be my daughter's hair (who is blonde and had her hair tied up that day). In the end, he reluctantly agreed to not charge us for her meal all the while telling us that we should eat at home if we expect not to find hair in our food. For the food itself, the chicken was hard as if re-heated several times. Overall bad experience at this restaurant. read more
