Across the street from a nut grove and the Dos Cabezas mountain range is Dwayne's Jerky store and Mountain View RV Park. The store offers a wide variety of jerky including some very exotic flavors as well as nuts, candy, souvenirs and more. Make sure to try their pecan pie. The staff is very friendly. Behind the store lies the Mountainview RV park, offering around thirty rv sites with electric/water/sewage. The park is clean and sites are level. No wi-fi, laundry or recreational area. The overnight fee was very reasonable. I would stay here again given the opportunity. (NOTE: At the time of our visit, their food truck was temporarily shut down due to staffing issues. Also, there is a fairly busy railroad track directly behind the property. Luckily our AC drowned out the noise.)

I could only get through half of mine, husband and pups managed to finish theirs. The store has really nice selection of jerky, treats, and gifts. They even sell gas and diesel! Prices are same as 6 min away, but a little high unless you don't want to drive 20~25 min to next town. We will definitely stay here again.

It was clean, the club house has extensive exercise equipments, a pool and a hot tub. Showers and bathroom facilities were very clean. The only hiccup we had was we checked in at 6pm on Sunday and turned out the office was closed. The front office never emailed us with instructions and passcode to access the shower. Luckily, the men's bathroom was cracked open (probably mal function) and our family was able to use the facility including swimming that night. I'd recommend this RV park.

Was told rent was $600, moved in, $500 deposit and $100 pet deposit…read more Was told by manager Holly that if I worked around the park 4hrs a day,5 days, no weekends rent would be $450. 3 weeks after I moved in I was told that I had to work on the Sabbath. I did it reluctantly and decided that I should quit this. My rent went $900. Don't come here because they don't mow what grass there is and expect the tenants pull the weeds and maintain the property for them. I'm getting out as soon as I can!!!!!

I found Grande Vista clean and quiet with the manager Vince incredibly helpful and professional. The location is a short bike ride to historic downtown Willcox and the many wine tasting rooms there. All hotels in Benson AZ (on the I-10 exit to Tombstone) were booked. We were so disappointed, it was 9 or 9:30 and we were ready for a break. It's a pretty sparse area, hotel-wise, and we were too far ahead of Tucson (about an hour) to turn back. I googled hotels within 30 miles and found a few in Willcox. Rose's is advertised as a 1950's style motel upgraded to modern standards. If you enjoy small business lodging rather than national brands, this is the place for you. We just needed a place for the night and his place seemed homey and welcoming. So I called, and they had 1 room left. We took it! Glad we did. It wasn't necessarily less expensive than a national brand, but the room was very clean and upgraded with a laminate floor and fresh light blue decor including painted walls, welcoming artwork and modern curtains -- kind of a nautical motif. The bathroom featured a tile shower (lots of hot water!), new sink/toilet, clean towels. Microwave/fridge, but no coffeemaker (that's OK, we aren't coffee people). The staff was friendly and helpful; they did not have a free breakfast like many of the national brands, but they did offer us bottled water. Rose's Motel is not visible from I-10; you have to drive thru town to find it. Granted it put us an hour away from Tombstone but we didn't mind that. We were just glad to have a nice, quiet, cozy, comfy place to stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. If we're in the area again we will definitely seek this place out!

I hike the Cochise Trail ever few years. There's a lot to see here: rock formations, vistas,…read morebirds, insects and rattlesnakes, and is a challenging hike of ten miles. I usually start this from the west side, driving through Tombstone and taking Middlemarch road north of town for nine miles before turning north on a forest road. This road is a dirt road that gets very rutted the last two miles as it follows a dry wash. This wash fills into a creek during active monsoon season, so a high-clearance vehicle is necessary. Unlike the east side, parking and dry camping on the west side is free. The trail climbs immediately for 1.75 miles before hitting the western Stronghold and from here it's a gradual descent to the eastern trailhead and campground. The only source of water is at Halfmoon tank, a cattle pond about halfway up or down the trail, depending on which direction you start this hike. Lots of butterflies were in the area in September. During active monsoon season, the creek will run and the waterfall on the western side is a sight to behold. My hiking party rests here near the restrooms before returning the way we came. There was no water in the campground last month when I last did this hike. Dogs are allowed The only negative thing about this hike is its remoteness and accessibility. From Sierra Vista it's a two-hour drive each way. Add another five miles for the hike and it's a day-long adventure.

They say mountain bikes are permitted but we are riders and I think the trails are too narrow. And slots where you can t pedal. I say hike. So no parking, bathrooms or camping or potable water. But you can park outside the gates. A few did, like us. Since we are new to the site, we only went to the water tank. Lots of shade along the way. Caves. Huge Rock formations. Hawks circling above hunting. Butterflies, BlueJays. Lots to see. I m going to go back while the weather is still cool. It is normally Officially Closed July to September due to extreme temps. Great to use your imagination about where the Apache's would have hidden in wait to protect the Stronghold.

USFS Shannon Campground is a great place to unwind and beat the heat…read more Shannon Campground is small (about 15 campsites) and tucked away along the upper reaches of Marijilda Creek on Mount Graham, a pleasant little brook with wild rhubarb growing on its banks winds through a setting of really tall trees and green grass. Campsites are shaded under mature Engelmann spruce and Douglas-fir. I went up when the temperature in Tucson was + 100 at 9,000 feet the temp remained a steady 65. Shannon is the last campground off the paved road. Recommended RV legth is no larger than 22 ft. Mine is 24 ft. and I made it just fine. Arcadia campground is at around 4,000 ft. and about 20 deg. Warmer. Several campsites are above Shannon, but the road is not paved. You can drive all the way up to Riggs Lake at the top and do some fishing. Native species of trout live in the lake. There are also many hiking trails of varying difficulty. I hiked the Heliograph Trail 328A to the lookout tower, 4 miles round trip. http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/coronado/recreation/camping-cabins/recarea/?recid=25552&actid=50 Notes: There's no running water at this site. Bear proof containers are at sites for food storage. I highly recommend this area and wish you a good time.

No light or air polution of any kind to marr the view of the night sky, and the careful desert landscaping is the chefs kiss. There's also lots of outdoorsy stuff to do in the area. The house is immaculate and very well appointed and the owners were very attentive to our needs. A complete full-on relaxing experience and we will absolutely be back. 5++++ stars! Highly recomended.
