Stop going to general practice offices and expecting emergency service. It literally doesn't work that way. Furthermore, please don't listen to the nickel and dime reviews--the practice is doing their due diligence and gold standard of care, which unfortunately costs money. Diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries or dentals all require medical equipment and medications that they have to purchase and therefore you have to pay for. There's no pet insurance that's like human insurance, so the prices are much different. You have to be willing to pay for good care. As a client it's unrealistic and literally unlawful to prescribe a medication to a pet (yes, even "one they've been on forever") without seeing the pet ONCE A YEAR at least for re-examination. Your dog has chronic ear infections? Then yes, obviously you can't just keep refilling without an exam. Wouldn't you like to know if the issue is resolving, evolving, or worsening? Stop dragging veterinary clinics because you don't know how the industry works. So before you take some of these reviews which are only OPINION, do some research. Yelp allows 100% opinion driven reviews, and they don't fact check. You could be harming your own pet and someone else's business by listening to vitriol on the internet.

The staff clearly love their jobs and genuinely care about animals, and aside from this experience, I've generally had positive visits here. I've seen two vets - one was great and our most recent appointment was with Dr. Choi. We brought our cat in because she had blood in her stool, and we were very worried about her health. During the visit, Dr. Choi commented that because my cat's vaccinations were overdue, "it would be very awkward if she had to report me." As a first-time pet owner, this came across as threatening rather than helpful. This could have been handled much better by explaining which vaccinations are legally required and why, instead of making a comment that added stress during an already scary situation. Unfortunately, the way this was communicated left a bad impression, and while I appreciate the staff overall, I won't be returning.

During the appointment, the new veterinarian conducted a brief examination-listening to his heart and checking his ears, where I had specifically noted his allergies tend to present. The entire exam lasted approximately seven minutes, largely due to my dog being restless. I am aware that this practice is generally on the higher end in terms of cost, and I anticipated a bill in the range of $200 based on prior visits. However, I was presented with a bill exceeding $400, which was unexpected and shocking. I was informed that prices had increased this year, though I did not receive any prior notification by email or see any posted notice in the office. I was also told that because there was "something wrong" with my dog, the exam fee was higher. This was confusing, as I had already disclosed his allergies when booking the appointment and this was not something 'found' during the exam. Due to the significant and unexpected increase in cost, I declined to proceed with his vaccinations at that time. I requested to pay only for the exam, though I expressed concern about the pricing given the limited scope and duration of the visit. I was told that the standard exam fee is $93, but that it now increased to $115 due to the allergies identified during the visit. I reiterated that this was not a new finding, as it was the stated whilst booking the appointment. Unfortunately, the receptionist was unable to provide clear answers to my questions regarding the pricing. She then concluded with an offer to provide my dog's medical records and I should "seek care elsewhere." Overall, I was surprised and disappointed by this experience. While I understand that costs can increase, a significant and uncommunicated price change (particularly without clear justification) was both unexpected and frustrating.

The entire experience is consistently great - the space is clean, modern, and really comfortable, which makes a stressful situation feel so much easier. Dr. Rodriguez is truly amazing. She is incredibly patient, kind, and thoughtful, and you can tell she genuinely cares about providing the best possible care. She took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand (not overly medical or confusing), which we really appreciated. They also fit us in last minute for what we thought was an urgent issue, and we felt so supported throughout the entire visit. Tati, the vet tech, is also so lovely. Both her and Dr. Rodriguez are amazing with our cat and made her feel as comfortable as possible. Bond Vet is by far the best - we're so grateful to have found them and will continue to go here for all future kitty needs. Highly, highly recommend.

The front desk is a mess. Scheduling is unreliable, communication is sloppy, and there's no indication that anyone is carefully tracking patients. Basic administrative competence is lacking. During our initial visit, the veterinarian Avery Shannon entered my dog's birthday incorrectly in their system. This is not a minor clerical error -- it directly impacted vaccine timing, which is critical for a puppy. I had to catch and correct this myself. That alone seriously undermined my trust in the clinic. On top of that, multiple appointments have been canceled on the spot by other vets, with little to no notice and no meaningful effort to accommodate or reschedule. It's incredibly frustrating to rearrange your schedule only to be told, last minute, that the appointment isn't happening. Finally, Bond Vet is extremely overpriced for very routine services. The fees feel inflated and disconnected from the quality of care or organization provided. The overall experience comes across as money-hungry, with high charges for basic care layered on top of an already chaotic operation. Between the disorganized front desk, incorrect medical records, repeated last-minute cancellations, and excessive pricing, Bond Vet has shown a consistent lack of professionalism. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone who values accuracy, reliability, or fair pricing in veterinary care

Although I am a physician I am not familiar with this procedure in canines, but apparently open incisions are used to cut into the bladder for stone removal. My. Baby girl was discharged in howling pain, which was traumatic for my sister who had retrieved her. She had to return her to demand appropriate pain management for the dog as she was only given gabapentin and Rimadyl (doggie Advil). Even women who have cesarean sections are given strong analgesia for at least 3 days postoperatively. My baby suffered for days. I called the office the following day to get information regarding her diet going forward, as bladder stones can definitely recur. Not only was I not given any information, but I was merely switched to another person who just asked for my financials to make payment for the "extra (much needed) meds." I was given a generic receipt, so my insurance denied the payment, and I was NEVER given the invoice for the surgery, which was almost 3k and paid in full up front. I sent an email requesting the invoice, and to date they refused to respond, so I will not be able to submit for the reimbursement. When my son called the office he was told that they "didn't know" about the insurance- even though it is on file. Although they claim they will submit, I don't have much faith that they will. Further, why was this not handled from the beginning before they tortured my baby? If a human patient is treated this way there are patient advocates & lawyers promptly involved. I guess things are different in Veterinary Medicine.... But animals deserve compassionate care, too. Some people love their pets more than their spouses. In addition, pet parents should be counseled regarding the operative course, what to expect, and how to manage their pets post-operatively at home. My family, and especially my dog, were traumatized by this experience. This vet got good reviews on Yelp for some reason; maybe they are acceptable for routine well care visits and minor illnesses. But if you have a pet with serious illness or require invasive or surgical intervention I encourage you to seek another Veterinary practice.

Since my dear friend moved to Jersey City last year along with a furry family member we shared during the pandemic lockdown in 2020, she found Heights Veterinary Associates as the new place in her neighborhood to take Rasputin, a Scottish Terrier. Needless to say, you needed to do the research and find a comfort level wherever you took your pets, and after a few attempts, she landed at this place. This was my first visit here as I helped her out, so did I have the same feelings about this place after she vetted it out!? PURCHASE Bordetella Booster Shot ($76.00): More commonly known as the medicine to prevent "kennel cough", it was time for Rasputin's 6-month injection. Although I couldn't recall how much we paid for this shot/booster after we first got him, the price seemed affordable and fair. And, I didn't notice any side effects after he received the booster - yay! SERVICE The appointment was easily made over the phone. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a lovely female receptionist, and minutes later a male vet appeared and walked Rasputin to the back. Before we knew it, both male vet and Rasputin were back, they provided Raspy with a treat, a quick payment was made, and off we went. Thanks for taking care of our "little black beast"! PARKING (FREE; N/A this instance) We simply took the 15-minute one-way walk from my friend's place. Otherwise, I didn't notice any parking lots but seemingly sufficient street parking along the main drag of Kennedy Blvd. and all surrounding roads - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A quaint office space with a small front lobby/waiting area that included a tiny reception counter, a couple places to sit, plenty of banners https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=g1UryCiILeVqRNVOm7E-vQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and posters hung on the walls, and finally towards the back looked like a few vet exam rooms where your furry friends were taken for treatment. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front windows and doors while various electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. I couldn't recall any TVs while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=aatsq9lYom2qaDE4V7V0Gw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops... if it weren't so freakin' cold. OVERALL I found Heights Veterinary Associates to be more than adequate for all of Rasputin's needs and glad my friend found them. I honestly didn't have much to base my opinion upon; however, I liked the positive vibes, and Rasputin seemed to enjoy his time at the vet and seemed like he was even looking forward to the visit! I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $76.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

I understand that many times veterinary hospitals receive negative reviews because we are in a heightened emotional state when our pets are sick or in crisis. But my experience here was the complete opposite, and I feel it's important to recognize the incredible care they provide. I rushed my beloved dog, Bella, in during a medical emergency, not knowing just how serious her condition was. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff treated us with such kindness, patience, and compassion. They took the time to thoroughly explain her diagnosis and condition in a way that made me feel supported and informed during one of the most overwhelming moments of my life. What stood out most was not just how they cared for Bella, but how they cared for every animal in their ER. I witnessed firsthand how attentive and gentle they were with pets whose owners weren't present--comforting them, monitoring them closely, and treating each one with genuine love and respect. That meant everything to me. Tragically, Bella passed away the very next day. When I returned for her cremation, the staff showed me an incredible level of compassion. They comforted me in a way I will never forget. In such a painful moment, their empathy and kindness brought me a sense of peace that I didn't know I needed. I am beyond grateful for the care, dignity, and love they showed my sweet Bella--and for the compassion they showed me. Thank you for everything you do for our pets and for the people who love them.
