Her remarks about my cat Angela's small size, accompanied by disapproving gestures and tutting, struck me as unprofessional and unnecessarily judgmental. Angela has always been a petite cat and is consistently provided with food and proper care. Mia's behavior left me feeling as though she had already concluded that I was an irresponsible pet owner without taking the time to understand my circumstances. Additionally, when I expressed interest in scheduling Max for neutering, I felt pressured by the supporting staff to schedule both cats for surgery, rather than having my preferences respected. There was also no discussion of potential discounts or financial accommodations for scheduling two procedures. I value professional guidance and understand the importance of preventative veterinary care. However, I do not appreciate feeling judged, shamed, or pressured when making decisions about my pets. I brought my animals to this practice because I care about their well-being, and I expected to be treated with the same compassion and respect that I want for them. After a tough visit at a different vet and a bad experience at another, we came here for a second opinion and it was by far the best decision we could have made. The entire experience is consistently great - the space is clean, modern, and really comfortable, which makes a stressful situation feel so much easier. Dr. Rodriguez is truly amazing. She is incredibly patient, kind, and thoughtful, and you can tell she genuinely cares about providing the best possible care. She took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand (not overly medical or confusing), which we really appreciated. I thought I booked an appointment this morning for the evening to address my dog, Beckham's, broken toe nail. Upon arrival, I found out there was no appointment booked. I pulled back up the browser tab and saw that the confirm appointment was stuck on a load spinner. The staff said they would see him, but would have to charge an extra $150 "walk-in fee". I asked for an exception, given the circumstances, which they refused. When I complained about this, the receptionist dismissed me, saying, "my mental health is not so good". Shame on me for not checking the confirmation. But shame on this team for your dismissiveness and shame on Bond Vet for your abusive corporate greed. Poor Beckham will be in pain for another day because of you. Please get your employees some mental health care and empower them to do the right thing in situations like this. Ironically, your team is now 1 week late on getting my visit summary, following the conversation I had with the doctor last week, following an appointment Beckham had 1.5 weeks ago. I have submitted a request for a $150 refund for that service, based on the going rate you have established. I gave this place two chances. Took my dogs in for a nail trim in August, and they needed exams since they were new patients. Fine. Total was $300 for two exams and two pedicures. During the exam, the doctor was really persistent about pursuing surgery for my 12 year old dog's phimosis. This rubbed me the wrong way since that's never been encouraged in 10+ years of vet visits and discussions of his condition. Came back in Feb for vaccines. Was very clear I could only afford vaccines at the time, and confirmed the price over the phone before coming in. $67 per vaccine. Super high but fine, they need them. At the appt, waited 30+ minutes in the room before doctor came in. Again, I get it. Something told me to confirm the price again so I asked. Since their rabies vaccines were expired, they needed new exams at $110 each. The appointment was going to be $700 so I had to leave. I just re-activated my Banfield Optimim Wellness plan, and the same appointment is going to be $200. I'd love to have had a neighborhood clinic, but won't be returning to Bond. read more

My dog has received great veterinary care at this location, and I truly appreciate the doctors and the treatment my pet has received. However, on multiple occasions--including today--I've overheard the front desk staff, including the woman who is usually there, speaking poorly about other customers where everyone in the waiting area can hear. However, the front desk worker (large, curly haired light skin black girl who is always there) is absolutely horrid and she should fired because this isn't the first time: it's the FIFTH time. She is so rude, full of attitude, dismissive, angry, impolite, inconsiderate gaslighting witch of a woman. She's working in a customer service business where people bring their beloved pets to be taken care of; which are almost like kids. I hate to write this but I can't help it. There is no way that management doesn't know about this because there are several reviews addressing this very same thing about the front desk and I'm certain it's the same girl I'm talking about. I came in as a walk in for my cat's emergency and luckily I was taken in which I'm grateful for. However, the communication between the staff needs to be addressed asap. I understand that appointments are the priority as it should be but the staff needs to let the walk ins know that it will take couple of hours to see your pet on a busy day. I sat there for three hours waiting and waiting being told it's gonna be couple more minutes. After waiting for nearly three hours I told the staff I had work to go to. I was informed that I can sign a form in which I would be given a call when my cat was ready to be picked up. So I signed the form and was told I needed to leave a deposit. Okay, no problem sounds good to me. I then received an invoice on my phone for $1300+. I was of course shocked so I asked the front desk girl (light skinned overweight rude curly haired black girl I described earlier) why am I being charged this much. She looked at me with disgust and rudely said, "what? You don't know?" And I replied saying no I don't, and that it must be a mistake because all the doctor did was examine her and did a check up on her anal gland. She went to go to talk to the doctor and came back saying it was miscommunication and I received a new invoice for $200+. So I said, "there is quite a big difference between $1300+ and $200+." She then went on to gaslight me telling me to not yell at her. I never raised my voice once. I was just addressing that communication needs to be better. I was running late after waiting 3hours to work and I needed to get out of here asap, someone would come pick up my cat and I had just signed the pick up form. She then said, "this guy needs to leave" under her voice and left quickly to the back. Another nurse comes back out with my cat and hands her to me in the carrier (someone else's' carrier by the way). What was the point of signing the pick up form? All the staff had to do was let me know that because I'm a walk in, it's gonna take several hours and it's better to just pick my cat up later. It was just this one particular front desk girl, everyone else was great. This girl is single handedly ruining the reputation of Bond Vet in downtown jersey city. There are so many other reviews talking about the rudeness of the front desk, I'm certain it's her because she is so miserable and unhappy. She projects that onto customer and you lose business because of that. I'm never coming back. Owner/management, please please address this miscommunication issue and hire someone competent, decent human being who can at least pretend to care and be somewhat nice and understanding. To that one front desk black girl; you should change your attitude and learn how to treat patients with care no matter how unhappy you are with yourself and your life. Can someone please explain the logic behind that and what the difference is? Why am I penalized for scheduling a walk in appointment vs a same day appointment? That makes no sense and feels like a sneaky way to tack on fees. Between the poor customer service and the inconsistent, borderline exploitative pricing, I won't be coming back. I've been taking my senior dog here since moving back to Jersey City almost a year ago and they have been absolutely spectacular every time I've needed routine and non-routine care for him (even compared to his previous vets in Manhattan and Brooklyn, who were also great).
